@kiranjit rana Well with Holden that was very intense. They fell fastly in love. And Audrey saw herself married to him with kids... and the man was already married with children ! The fact that he couldn’t give her that let her heartbroken. She passed from excitement to disappointement and sadness... Years later, she shot another film with Holden, and he kept seducing her but she rejected his advances cause she was married to someone else since. He never got over her. It was definitely PASSION for one another but in passion, there’s also sadness, anger, rage, disappointement, resentment but her BEST relationship was by far her last one. It was more peaceful and joyful. A very strong love. He was with her until her last breath. True love.

Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress of all time for both her beauty inside and outside and her classiness. She is not without flaws. I don’t mean what she considers are flaws like her nose, teeth, feet etc. But the flaw of having an affair with the handsome Holden in the early part of marriage to Ferrer when they were happy together Before the much older Ferrer started having affairs himself. After that blow to his ego, he then affairs, then she had affairs during their marriage. It was doomed as soon as one of them started to look outside their marriage.
@yourmommmmm2643 жыл бұрын
she had an affair with Holden before SHE was married, the flaw there would be having an affair with a man who you knew was married. she didn't have an affair with anyone during her marriage to Mel until the filming of two for the road in 1966, by which time the marriage was hanging on by a string, Mel had affairs throughout their marriage. she had an affair with albert Finney during the filming of two for the road, when Mel caught wind of it he threatened to tell the press so the affair stopped but they got a divorce in 1967 not long after wait until dark was released. during her second marriage to Andrea Dotti he was photographed with over 200 different women by just ONE paparazzi, towards the end of that marriage she met Robert wolders and once Andrea and her divorced they sort of became "an item" and he stayed with her to the very end.

A few points. To say Audrey was "Belgian" is an oversimplification. She was born in Brussels, to a British father and Dutch mother, and always held a British passport. Mel Ferrer was of Spanish descent, and pronounced his surname fer-RAIR, with the stress on the second syllable. Audrey was not married to Ferrer at the time of her affair with Holden. (I am not sure if you were trying to imply that, but that is the impression I got from the film). As you say, Holden was married at the time (to Brenda Marshall), but they were separated; according to one version of the story Audrey wrongly believed them to be divorced.

Hi Age of Vintage, Good Morning it's 9.20am here in Adelaide, & I think our colder weather is starting to come in. I hope you are well, you certainly have been very busy, 3 uploads on Clark Gable & now this one on the Sublime, Beautiful, Kind & Generous Audrey Hepburn. She is one of my all time favourite actresses, she was not only sexy with the face of an Angel , but one of Hollywood's greatest actresses. She had an extremely poor upbringing, there was never enough food for the family. They used to gather wheat grasses & other seeds etc & grind them up to make a very poor quality type of bread. She never felt so bad about things, that's just the way things were at that time. She grew up to be a magnificent actress & dancer, with her elfin, pixie hair cut, & the most beautiful speaking voice. She was always extremely thin all her life which people put down to her lack of proper food with substance. She adored her 2 children & would talk to them & play with all the time, her first son was sent to a school which taught bilingual languages. The press found out about her upbringing, which they blamed her chances of bearing children a terrible shame as they thought she would never have any children at all. She was anorexic before people knew what the name meant , but she was lucky enough to have 2 boys. She was a brilliant actress ( only my opinion ) & starred in movies with a plethora of leading Hollywood men. Three of her favourite films to me are SABRINA whom she starred with Humphrey Bogart, & William Holden, Roman Holiday with the gorgeous Gregory Peck, & Breakfast at Tiffany's with George Peppard. My opinion of why she struggled with love for so many years is , she never felt worthy of herself , & didn't believe she should be happy at all. She became a HUGE AMBASSADOR for UNICEF later in her life, & I believe this is where she found her calling. This was something she could do & she adored it. At a gala dinner somewhere she was speaking to Sir Roger Moore & was telling him about her work she used to do with UNICEF & he said show me where to sign & I'm in. He carried on & did a lot of work with Audrey, even after she passed away. He was still involved with it , virtually until he was succumbed to illness & passed away. Two huge stars who were humble & kind & just got on with the job at hand, no big fan fares & showing off , look what I'm doing aren't I a great person . They were just two beautiful people helping the World's poorest children. Love Love from Australia 🇦🇺❤💜💖⚘⚘14.04.20.

Buddy it’s pronounced /fer-RARE/ but I know you’re British and Brits tend to tend to stress different syllables than Yanks (I’m not either one). So Americans say /TEL-i-vi-zyun/ Brits say /tel-i-VI-zyun/. Americans say /WEEK-end/ Brits say / week-END/. In names you tend to favour the initial syllable which is most often correct but this is a foreign name. It doesn’t follow the tacit rules of pronunciation you are familiar with. ( or to be formal: of which you are familiar).

The late great actress and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn was NOT Belgian! She was part DUTCH from Holland and from Dutch aristocracy on her mother's side who was a Baroness and also had distant Jewish blood in her. Her father was of Irish/British descent! A tulip in Holland was named after her because when she was nearly starving during WW2 she had to live off of tulip bulbs! She also lived a life so similar to the late Anne Frank that she once refused to play her, it was too close to home and painful for her. Her biggest affair was with notorious womanizer Golden Boy William Holden, a raging alcoholic. And the rest is herstory!

Audrey's great gift was the animation in her face. She wasn't beautiful, but photogenic. Like most Hollywood actresses, she was chronically immature and incapable of making sensible life decisions. It is not surprising that she couldn't find personal happiness until towards the end of her life. This is the classic Hollywood tragedy. At least she didn't commit suicide.
@eileenhetherington37042 жыл бұрын
Disagree. She was stunning.. her face is perfection.. She was not immature. She never had a childhood, so dating, etc, was a haze of confusion. She grew up a starving waif and did not have a strong foundation to rely on. She kissed a few frogs. Some loves were good for her, some not, like everyone.

Strongly disagree. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but in my eye Audrey was the most beautiful film star of all time. She may have had a few unhappy relationships, although far fewer than a lot of Hollywood stars (both male and female) but that is not the same as being "chronically immature". One could argue that her disappointments in love actually helped her to become more mature.
