Australia is 100x a much better place. I did my bachelors from there and got my PR too. Yes there are quite a few cash cow universities and it can be a revolving door for intl. students. But if you do your due diligence on universities/campus/city and opportunities and not solely rely on agents to spoon feed you information then you can make it work. Study something worthwhile and you’ll be making 72k+ right after uni, know your PR pathway and make sure to check the skilled occupations list. Network with local students and other internationals and don’t just stick to your home country’s student as most of the Chinese students tend to do.

Plus you get additional points for studying at a regional city and it brings down the cost of living too. The only tradeoff is that opportunities decrease
@mahapahita9473 Жыл бұрын
Hi, Is this true we need to study certain type of degrees and courses, then only we would be prioritised for PR ? And that commerce related degrees have less scope there ? I've heard this rumour. Can you please give some information 🙏🏼🙏🏼
@NoName-ny1bt Жыл бұрын
It helps a lot if your occupation and experience is on the SOL list or the medium long term skill shortage (MLTSSL) list. There are more pathways for PR this way. The list gets updated often so you should check for the updated list. I haven’t been tracking it lately. If it’s not on the list then it becomes harder, your options would be state sponsorship or employee sponsorship, which is difficult.

Max You're right in everything you mentioned I know people who after 5years even 8 years living in Australia couldn't get The PR because Australia's immigration laws changes everytime and the main applicant has to addapt to new rules even though previous laws benefits them. The only aspect we should take into consideration is that is quite normal to earn between 25-30 AUD per hour all over the country meanwhile in Canada in most of the province it's not usual to earn 30 AUD. So yes, living in Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, it's so expensive like people have to share a room to actually afford it, in other cities like Adelaide Perth Darwin is a bit more affordable. I'd say Canada is totally pro immigration meanwhile Australia New Zealand don't give priority to international students If you main goal is become an international student and get ultimately PR Canada might be the best option for you and if you're from some countries like Peru Ecuador Argentina Brasil Chile Uruguay you might be eligible for a working holidays visa in Australia so you can be earning and saving in Australia and finally moving to Canada 🤭

this is true Max! owp can’t also work full-time unless the student is taking the masters degree - Cannot agree more on the commission - its insane! 😂 for PR, they have selected jobs that they prioritize for PR and it keeps changing from time to time, not unlike in Canada its pretty stable, isn’t?

you mean the OSL right? imagine enrolling a uni in X field, then just before you graduate, the OSL removed your field of study. youve spent years and lots of money on that course, only to be screwed by fickle beaurocrats lol i wonder why i never hear international students commit suicide in australia.
@smwk2017 Жыл бұрын
After graduation in Australia, you will need to find work in your field of study. Get yourself qualified because you need 1 year of post-qualification experience for skill assessment by a governing body. For example, engineers are governed by Engineers Australia. If you work in a job that is not related to your field of study, you could fail the skill assessment. After passing the assessment, then you can deal with Home Affairs. Australia changes its Occupation List from time to time. Your occupation can be removed from the List suddenly, making it impossible for PR.

Okay, after watching this video I'm not so sure if I have the same confidence I had when I thought of pursuing my MS in Data Science in Aus. I got my application approved by Monash Univ, but again I'm not so sure if it's the right decision as an Indian. Ofc my main goal has been to settle abroad but even then I'm at cross roads if I should focus on getting into a "Reputed" University or a decent University.
@NoName-ny1bt Жыл бұрын
Monash is a very good university in the G8 and you’re studying a very in demand degree. Accommodation can be tricky when you first arrive in Melbourne but public transportation is good. This video is only for those who are misled by agents into degree mill universities. You already chose your course and university, this doesn’t apply to you. Only advice is network with local students and community and land an internship or graduate program.

Data Science is a challenging course, it can be too cramped for a 2 years Masters course. Better to be aware of the course structure and start preparing from now onwards. Attend all lectures, tutorials and take full advantage of optional office hours with professors, they reserve an hour or two every week and hardly any international students show up. This is the only opportunity to get recognised by professors, even if you have nothing to ask. You can ask them for a letter of recommendation after first semester. This helps while applying for jobs and interviews. They can even help you become a tutor for an undergrad course which pays significantly higher than any odd job but you need a good GPA. Keep padding up your resume and portfolio with Australian professional experience jobs, part-time, paid/unpaid or even remote and get a letter of recommendation from all of them, even if it’s basic data analysis or visualisation. Stay under the working hours limit. Don’t take bad advice from other sub continent intl. students most of them are there to work odd jobs and pay part of their tuition and then they continue to do the same thing, don’t waste your time with them. Keep education, your GPA and experience as your first priority or else you’re wasting your potential studying Data Science. You’ll make 10x more this way after just 24 months. Land an internship by the first summer, get LinkedIn premium for a month when it’s time to apply. Some of the local students do part time masters, they already have relevant industry experience and are working at the same time, they can help you the most for references. They will give you the best advice to get your foot in the door.

To get a PR in Australia people will end up living in remote cities like Adelaide, Perth or Canberra. Those places offer easier path ways to get the Australian PR. If someone is applying from Melbourne, Sidney or Brisbane it will take a lot more time to get the profile that this places are asking for, since those cities or states don´t have the need for more people, at some point many individuals wont have options to stay there for longer. Meanwhile, in Canada some provinces also offer easier paths to get the PR, but same as Australia these provinces are remote places. On the other hand to get a Canadian PR in a big city like Toronto or Vancouver, it is way easier than any big city in Australia. So, if you are planning to go to a small remote place I would say that is almost same Canada or Australia to get a PR. And, if you are someone planning to live in a big city there are a lot more chances in Canada than in Australia for the PR.

It is sad to see that young international students year in an year out fall for the lies and half truths that are advertised by the Australian education system. Australia's international education system is a 'Ponzi scheme'. It is a multi billion dollar business and you pay mostly for a subpar education. Australian universities don't tell you about international students that are homeless due to the housing and rental crisis. Australian universities don't tell you about the living cost crisis where international students go hungry every day. Australian universities don't tell you about the mental health issues and committed suicides of international students. Of course they don't tell you about these things, because they are solely interested in cashing in on you. I hope you are aware that your money pays the million dollar salaries of the university management teams that pop the champagne bottle every time an international student enrols. These so called 'educational institutions' are businesses that are only interest in maximizing profits. All of this btw. is well documented and I only hope some of you do the proper research before signing up to study at an Australian university.

I dont know whether I should believe them or not. Do you think it is even possible?
