Safest form of energy and only getting safer with every iteration of reactor design... Molten Salt Reactors in development today will be "walk away safe" and modular designs will allow factory manufacturing of the reactors making them economical... Not to even mention the benefits of the thorium fuel cycle for reducing the waste while also adding an income stream for rare earth mines to help compete with china for the rare earth market (actually pretty important right now)

When we shift from coal to gas we reduce pollution and ash. Similarly liquid fuel nuclear reactors are efficient and produce less waste. Nuclear fission can also be done using liquid fuels. Liquid-fuel reactors like molten-salt reactors are the future of nuclear energy.

I am afraid that Michael does not appreciate how long the development of new nuclear power generator would take for design, build, test, turn-on. As evidenced by increasing ferocity of oceanic storms, fires in Australia, Siberia and elsewhere, melting and shrinking glaciers needed to summer water in many countries, ice melt Antarctica and Greenland, changes in deep ocean currents, there is note enough time left to go nuclear. Greta Thunberg seems to have a much deeper understanding than Michael. Michael does not appear to have sufficient knowledge of planetary science.

Greta is a kid. Her native country of Sweden has a good nuclear industry. There is a book called "Sweden's nuclear delema" She and everyone in Australia should read it.
