One of my favorite things about balatro is just how quick it is; a full run takes about 20-30 minutes tops assuming you're not going super fast, which is so refreshing compared to other roguelikes which can take almost up to an hour

@@chuck176 I'm very late but I picked this game up yesterday with extremely little knowledge of poker and I'm loving it. You definitely don't need to know how to play poker to play this well, the game does a great job teaching you and honestly figuring it out as you play is the fun part. Plus, there is so much extra stuff that expands upon poker so it feels like a whole new thing.

He mentions slay the spire which is another good option if you have any nostalgia for any trading card games. Into the Breach is also a great option. It’s a tactics game that works more like a puzzle game with levels that just take a few minutes each.

the simpler the base premisse is, the more addictive it ends up being, I'd say. It's basically Luck be a Landlord on steroids for me... equally as simple, if not even more, and 10x more juicy

Dude you stole the words right out of my mouth! I can’t even begin to explain to people how when I’m 80 I will still be playing this. I sank 22 hours into the game within the first 3 days I’m 47 hours into the game in less then a week I need help lol I still can’t seem to get past the red deck! Tarot cards are actually VERY VERY good. Jokers like Vagabond can lead to some insane deck manipulation where your deck might end up being all Kings!

We can all agree Balatro is awesome. But, if we could just come to a consensus about how to pronounce it. Is it Bala-tro or Ba-la-tro? I organically pronounced it as the content creator here has, until I watched another video in which it was pronounced the latter way. lol (edit) Also,since you showed a clip, Loop Hero is an absolutely slept on gem!

I've played 5 or so hours. It's fun, but I thought it got stale for me. Maybe I'm just not good at it. I get why it's compelling, though, and it's in no way a bad game. One QoL I do want to see is the jokers showing when you hover over a card that it's affecting, or have chosen a hand before playing it, and the jokers show that they'll affect that hand. When having multiple runs, destroying jokers, buying new ones and such, it gets a little tedious constantly hovering over the jokers to see their effects imo.
