They could work disney made a open world pirates of the Caribbean game with black flag elements unique boss battles pirates of Caribbean huge franchise star war outlaws could of worked if you did fun bounty missions with openworld elements like chases upgrades make own character improve stealth and better combat it was beautiful yeah but only takes so far maybe remake 3 first 3 splinter cell games they are being greedy that why big companies are failing you now why solo leveling mobile game doing better because respect source material it sad when little companies are better if sony buy fromsoftware it ruined because they lost their touch

I had a lot of fun playing the MP on the original Homefront. Felt like a good mix of BF and CoD. But what sucked for me was that PSN got hacked and that killed the game for me

It came with my Xbox. I played it, I enjoyed it, and then immediately forgot it. It had great visuals, controls, voiceovers, and sound, but there just wasn't anything there to really draw me into that world or those characters, or leave me wanting more.

Played the game warlier this year. It was really competent. Gameplay was engaging, fluid, graphics aged pretty well. I dropped the game after a few hours (just not for me) but I can see why some people really like it. Its unique and has a high skill ceiling.

The first (and only) time I tried to play Starbound, I couldn’t make my character get out of the bed at the start of the game. I pressed every button, I looked up controls, all of that. Looked it up, it’s apparently a known bug, but it was such a “Oh… Wow, no, I’m refunding this” moment for me.

Letting y’all know rn that some of us STILL play Saints Row 2006. Don’t believe me? I got countless videos to prove it. I have other gameplay videos btw :) P.s. Saints Row (2022) is Saints Row in name only and may it forever rest painfully in fiery urine.

No doubt the franchise deserved better. The first one was okay. I can’t recall much from it, aside from a unique country invading the United States. The sequel I prefer more, due to having a bit more to it, even if it’s after the war was over on a grand scale.

The coolest thing about Guitar Hero and Rock Band was that they actually got a lot of kids into playing REAL instruments. The rock band The Warning (3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico) started out playing Rock Band when they were just 8, 10, and 12 years old. Fast forward to now, they are 20, 22, and 24, have 4 albums out of their own original music, and have opened for bands like Def Leppard, Guns N Roses, Muse, Foo Fighters, and others over the years. And their music is great!

0:17 if they brought back like I'm talking a night dive studio style remake of medal of Honor allied assault with modern day controller support I would play the absolute hell out of that game cuz I recently tried to play allied assault on my rog ally but even with remapping software it's terrible that game in its original format can really only be played with a keyboard and a mouse and while I can buy a keyboard and mouse for my ally I don't necessarily want to do that because I don't play any games that require it and I also suck at keyboard and mouse I have always been horrible I'm just a controller player through and through

9:22 the reboot was God awful and I didn't even play the game I didn't want to spend money on that game after everything I heard and seen with my own eyes from the trailers and other people honestly they had a good way to jump back into their roots but keep the characters established that people had come to love One of the endings of get out of hell was that a new world was created another one was a reset they could have used one of those endings namely the reset one and it would have been better than this dog shit of a wet fart game

Funniest shit is first they split their base in two camps, SR1-2 and SR3-4, then made a new game shitting on and alienating both in chase of the elusive non existent "modern audience" with those zoomer clowns they tried to pass as gangsters.

11:39 The Red Dawn movie remake coming out around this time probably didn't help considering it had the same plot as the game North Koreans invading the United States and you having to start a revolution to combat them.

The controllers SUCKED the music choices were limited the controllers also SUCK There wasn't enough for the 1v1 or party game vibe. Also the controllers SUCK Buttons would break strum bar would break and then they made them worse next gen and then even worse with GH5 they added those weird 3 buttons under and made it black and white instead of its iconic color palettes They lost all their identity... looked like they were trying to be like McDonald's rebranding from a happy kid place to hang out at into a bland building ppl get coffee at sometimes on their way to work. No soul... GH3 was the best feeling game with the best controllers everything else felt like a step back or falling behind in the times.. Clone hero looks to be the way to go? But honestly Rocksmith solved all the problems red octane had and by that time id already given up on competitive guitar hero and joined a band playing real guitar lol was cooler anyway. Still... i wonder what would've happened without the forced competition and instead harmonix red octane Activision neversoft all work together to make something great. Instead we have good playing games with horrible song choices and decent songs with horrible gameplay and controllers.. both with RB and GH titles these issues presist in all the games one way or another. Can't win either way PC mods like clone hero and Rocksmith or just learning real guitar is just better than being victim to another video game company

You didn't really answer the question of why it failed other than a bunch of popular IPs released around the same time. There has to be more than that. I mean all popular IPs were all new IPs to start.

Introducing Jedi, even when you make it very difficult to get them, was a huge mistake which was made way worse when they made them a starting class. Having classes at all was a bad Idea. The open progression system was one of the best things about the game. What the game didn't have when I was playing it that I really wanted were starships. It's called Star Wars, I'd like to be able to have a war in the stars.

I feel like there were some important cultural aspects in society that played a role as well. First off, back then when the game released. PC gaming was not as accessible as it is today. Today PC gamers make up a much much larger portion of gamers in general. There lack of console ports really hindered its popularity. It had an incredible amount of features for a videogame at the time. Thus making its console debut even more unlikely. When they finally did shut down the game. It was NOT because of popularity decline. While definitely a niche community (which i was not really a part of). The major contributing factor was SWTOR being announced and coming out soon after. They literally debuted the idea of SWTOR and then a month later announced galaxies was getting switched off. There was a lot of upset people as you can imagine after so many years. It sparked a resistance that endeavored to revive the game. And so they did.

Don't be too pessimistic! Microsoft has basically given up on making Xbox its own brand and they're putting exclusives on PC and even on PlayStation. Microsoft and Sony could probably work something out and just say "hey, Sunset Overdrive 2. Xbox and PS. Let's go!"
