Sorry but this video is very lacking in information and research. This was much more than the quota system despite the protests starting for it. For 15 years, the Hasina regime spread corruption to every sector of Bangladesh while limiting freedom of speech and brutally cracking down upon dissent and political opposition to turn the country into a one-party rule with all elections under her being nothing but fraud. She used big development projects that fools get wow'ed over as a cover to smuggle billions overseas while Awami League loyalists and bootlickers essentially became mafias on grassroots level. Even religious institutions like Mosques and Hindu Temples and Puja Committees were forced to include Pro-Awami League propaganda in religious sermons and Pro-Awami people were assigned as religious heads. When the quota protests started, the Awami League immediately used their Chattra League thugs to brutally attack students with the police backing them. This turned the Quota protests into 9 point demands calling for justice for those killed like Abu Sayeed and many others, proper investigation and punishing those responsible. But Hasina did not obey and continued crackdowns with law enforcers and her thugs. There was block raids at night were police raided homes and arrested/killed any university students they found along with the use of live rounds, helicopter based snipers and live grenades on protesters. That's when it became a call for Hasina to step down since she did not stop her killings and people joined the protesters en-masse since they were fed up with Awami Mafia rule for decades. Even most of the junior officers and soldiers in the Army refused to follow shoot on sight orders and the Army chief sided with the people, thus sealing the fate of the fascist Awami League and Hasina.
