So it’s clear that he’s profile fits it. Also, during the the AC Milan/ Barca game, we had 17 chances, 7 on target, and 2 converted. It’s clear that we needed to more clinical. Olmo is just an insurance.

I was 1 hour old when my father ,directly from the hospital, went to Maksimir (Dinamo Zagreb’s) stadium to sing me up for a membership. So my love for Dinamo runs deep. Dani is up there with the greats like Da Silva, Modric and many others who came through our club. He won our hearts over and over with his talent and tenacity. Truly I appreciate this signing reason because all the players who play on his position are all injured. We can give them time to be 100 % with out forcing them soon for big games . Only explanation for not getting real DM should be that Flick knows who he is going to play in his double pivot positions. I just hope Fermin doesn't leave. Pablo Torre could go out on another loan. To be honest, saying that barcelona has a lot of players in that position is actually delusional. you can't actually expect torre or the new la masia players to play at high level for 60 games a season in all competition. We have right now gundo, fermin, pedri, gavi, and de jong, and objectively speaking, gundo is 33/34 year old so you cant expect him to always be a regular in all matches, pedri is injured most of the time, gavi needs a lot of time to get back to his level pre injury and So if you actually look at it objectively, barcelona right now does not have enough midfielders even if you take bernal and cassado into account. You can't expect to compete in all competitions with 4 or 5 midfielders, maybe if you're a mid tier club. I mean look at the clubs that compete for the champions each year, look at real madrid, they had modric, kroos, camavinga, tchouameni, valverdi, cebaios, bellingham, brahim diaz, and arda guller. 9 players that can occupy the midfield. So if anything, I don't think barcelona has enough midfielders

If you had watched preseason games no forwards were hugging the touchline (wingers) all of them acted like inside forwards (Roque. Pau & Raphinha) so even when Olmo starts on the left he will come inside making those runs leaving the width for the fullbacks. That's why you saw Valle way up the field making those crosses instead of a winger. Olmo would not have been a great fit for Xavi's system as a winger but for Hansi he is the perfect signing.

Key things to point out from your video or things you forgot to mention: 1) Raphinha is a RW and Ansu is a Left goal scoring winger so I don’t get including them as 10s. 2) I think we will see three players to play 10 Olmo, Gundo and Fermin. Gundo won’t feature much this season because him and Lewa make the team defensively unbalanced. 3) Torre might go on loan. 4) Raphinha is not a left winger. 5) Bernal will be Barcelona’s main pivot Christensen will go back to defence.

we signed olmo strictly for rotational value as he has a similar profile to fermin and in which no other midfielder in Barcelona attacks like fermin and can score goals like him, we tried with Pedri but he’s more so a playmaker than a goal scorer, now with olmo we have two and with Fermin becoming world class, olmo doesn’t have to play 90 minutes of every game risking injury.

I see this a lot on the Reddit Barça sub. A bunch of people that really are not knowledgeable about football (playing Football Manager does not make you an expert) talking crap about a guy that has excelled year on year since being a young player. This last Euro showed us a Dani Olmo that is far more direct than Pedri and will offer the team different options based on the system and who we are playing against. A football season for Barcelona is not only long, but very demanding. We also need much more goal scoring from the second line. Lewandoski and Gundogan are probably in their last year of top flight football, we can't dump all the responsibility on 16 and 17 year olds. These same Reddit geniuses moan that we are not getting Nico before Dani. If Nico does not want to come, it does not make sense to spend the money on anything less than Nico at a minimum. As for a DM, Hansi Flick (who's technical opinion I trust much more than random people on the Internet) says we don't need right now a DM so we don't need to spend money. yeah you right people will have to leave. but first, it is important to note that olmo can play in many positions like Iniesta, he can excel as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder, a winger, a false 9. He would connect really well with Levy. He is very special. According to rumours, Pablo Torre will leave. But I think, they should sell more players, like Fati, Roque and Ferran Torres. But I would defo fight hard to keep Fermin. Anyway, these guys have loads of players to sell, such as Lenglet and potentially Araujo and Inigo Martinez.

The ideal thing would be selling raphinha or vitor roque even though i like roque he just wouldnt get enough play time . And considering the risor of pau victor he should be sold. And i also think fermin should be playing because he has proved himself to be a goalscorer and is cooking in the Olympics. Dani olmo can be used as a lw instead of a Cam. Which would give opportunities to fermin . Also fermin and olmo could switch roles mid game. olmo is an amazing talented player he knows better that position than anyone ib barca and he has more experience, the rest can see him as mentor and dont forget with 5 subs all midliefield can be subtitue a lot give alws speed and energy in the middle .also pedri can rest and find himself and recover faster. i think sundogan should go we dont need him now we are complete. another thought is that ansu fati couldstart play as left winger more often and learn play like this and replace nico williams position, pao torres and ferrin can play in non importand matchies to give rest to olmo and pedri amybe pedri play more like xavi and not inesta acuse he is not aggresive like olmo too. soo many options.

Raphina is a winger and unfortunatelly a very one dimensional player as well. Ansu Fati just came from a loan spell where he couldn't start over Danny Welbeck, Gündogan and Pedri both are CMs who are good at retaining the ball and passing between the lines, Torres is kind of a good 2nd striker and can come as a substitute to Lewandowski. However I haven't seen him do special things consistently. Fermin Lopez is too young and inexperienced and not technically gifted enough to start yet. Dani Olmo brings somethingt unique to the team. He is direct, loves to play between the lines, can pass and dribble and press. He is the perfect player around Lewandowski. Kind of the role Müller played when Bayern dominated everything
