Don't discourage musicians from getting "Political". Musicians reach more people with songs of Protest than anyone else. Musicians played a huge part in ending the Vietnam War!

I disagree. Political opinions are...like a..holes. Moving the heart in that context is manipulating the heart. Why did the old lady Abigail mentioned in the beginning only play her song for self, family, and limited community? She knew. As talented as B and A are, I think sometimes they have a blind spot. They started to breach that though with the Chinese musician when they decided to play subtext to his song. .

Don't set your foot in the poisonous pool of politics Bela! Learn from Robert Zimmerman who bailed on that garbage early.

Hey, if musicians hadn't started speaking-out about the Vietnam War and writing Protest Songs, that war would have dragged-on even longer than it did. Musicians were a vital component in ending the war!

soooo, it was good til you found out they cared about people that are used by the very rich? Odd. I guess somebody has to carry the water so the rich don't have to. Be my guest!

BirdYoumans No... my point is again I was enjoying this until POLITICS was brought up! End of story!! My family were coal miners so you don’t have to fill me in about rich or poor. Politics is evil.

Point well taken. But when those of us with a visable platform don't speak out, we run the risk of losing our freedom to those who now own everything because we used to just stand by and try not to cause waves. The rich now take more and more and the general populace gets less and less. Been to the gas pump or grocery store lately? Scary. But I do understand your point. It used to be so nice to not have to give it a second thought. I was pretty much apolitical until 9-11. That changed everything for me, but I'll leave it there though I do long for those more innocent days.

I agree 100%!! You and I both. 😊 It’s just sad that musicians are scared to even speak of who they voted for cause they’re scared they will lose fans over it. That was my point from the first post. 😉 Let’s just hope the people in this world will come together and make it a happier place.

Agreed! Wonderful interview with very delightful and talented people THEN here comes the political BULLSHIT. A generous portion of the interview dealt with a controversial song intended to get the Coal Miners to "Wake Up!" about the evils of Capitalism. Question; Do you charge your audience a Fee $$$ to attend your performance? Do you pay for fuel, food, lodging, tires, mechanical maintenance during your travels. Do you pay $ for clothing, shoes, acrylic fingernails, finger picks, instruments etc. that enables you to travel and to delight your audiences with your beautiful music? THAT is CAPITALISM.
