I love your little statement about living in gratitude billy ray . What a powerful tool that is to keep yourself centred and at peace. These messages that transcend the saw are just beautiful. Keeps me coming back every damn time my man!

I’ve ran a 390XP W all year last year and they are an amazing saw. I cut cord wood for fire wood with a 32in bar and I kept my chain RAZOR sharp and when I got as dull as a new factory chain I gave it a few swipes off a file. Those saws just run INCREDIBLY. You can run them in small wood all day with proper technique and they can be buried in oak or maple all day long

Hey buckin man that 390 is a runner. Glad to see you using it, like to hear more about the pipe. Keep up the good work. Thanks

I enjoyed using the last 390 I used. Was cutting 2ft hickorys without any problems. The saw had enough power to push the tip out anytime the tree tride to grab me. Thanks Buckin.

I have the twin little brother the 385xp. 400$ was to good of a deal to hold out for a 390. Im figuring ported with a pipe aught to make it very close to the 390. Cheers good to see ya running thst big boy!

I just came down off the roof after shoveling 6 ft of snow off. I literally had to cut it into blocks to get it off. Now, time for a little break watching you have fun out there in the woods. That's what I feel about it.

Gotta say, it's a pitty that Makita stopped producing the gas powered Dolmar legacy. My first chainsaw was a Dolmar back in 94. One of the oldest brands of chainsaws. Many were used at our forestry school, those would be the 115i's. Still have that saw btw, even though i have many others nowadays. You just can't have enough saws! Cheers from the Netherlands!

They seem to have the PS7310 73cc still in the online Makita catalog ? Bought myself a brand new PS7910 last year for 700€ in France. Nice saw, done a lot with it ! Simple and reliable !

I have a treemonkey (Scott Kunz in WI) ported 390 and it's also nuts. INSTANT throttle response just like yours has. I've had it for 10 years or so now. He got rid of the factory Walbro carb and put a Tilly off of a 385 on it. He said he just can't quite get the same performance out of the 390's using the OEM Walbros as he can with the Tillotson.

I think so too. Its definately close. In small wood the 4 stroking is basically begging for a real load. Put that bad boy in some serious wood and its going to pull like mad. It wants to work.

@metalandwood4u8 сағат бұрын
BC and Pacific NW of USA dont get much snow west of Cascades usually. Couple times a year maybe for short time.
@richevy52248 сағат бұрын
@metalandwood4u Wow. I never knew that. I always hear Canada referred to as the great white north. Lol I have a friend in Alberta. He gets tons of snow.
@metalandwood4u7 сағат бұрын
@@richevy5224 yeah east of cascades that weather cools off and snow nad cold is prevelent. West of cascades youve got the pacific influence, just north of california.....they snow ski in cali but also hit the beach all year long too. I think every few years the pacific NW might get one or two years every 4 or 5 with a good snow for a week or two if i remember right.

What is your opinion of the foreign made light bars like you have on that makita /dolmar? Wondering if they are any good. Considering it for my stihl 462 because they’re a lot less money than the Stihl light bar. I haven’t heard much about how the hard resins hold up that they put in them or if the have any flexibility side to side
