Oil analysis can also be used as a “trigger” for when to change oil on equipment that has a long duration between oil changes. Don’t change the oil until it’s needed. If you routinely change oil, analysis only adds peace of mind and a thinner wallet.

Peace of mind for .01 a mile on 3,000 mile oil change or .005 cents if 6,000. Pretty cheap insurance I think. Especially on vehicles one plans on keeping for "life". Cheers!! Zip~

I've been putting seafoam in my engine oil with positive results. My first car was a 97 Buick Park Avenue I got it handed down from my parents I paid $300 for it with 240 some odd thousand miles %100 consistant convention oil changes ran good needed wheel bearings, brakes, and cv axles ran it 10 years at one point oil pressure hot idle would drop down to 25psi thought I'd try cleaner in the oil next oil change added seafoam ran it 300 miles saw oil pressure after the change go up to 30psi drop back down to 22psi hot idel changed the oil again and got 45psi hot idel oil pressure been running seafoam ever since. I have ran the 92 Buick lesabre over 7000 miles changed oil when I got it with 111700 miles conventional without seafoam second oil change convensional with seafoam last week changed the oil with full synthetic with seafoam lifter has been ticking on start up since 1st oil change and has been getting better over time oil pressure hasn't really changed much since I got it though. Valve covers leak pretty bad I'll just service the top end and replace the lifters and see what it looks like after all the fresh oil and cleaners are run threw the engine🤔

got something interesting to tell you. I wanted to try and replicate oem strong arm stop had an ah ha moment. I took the threaded nut off a parts deck adjuster to make a stop. Just had to thread the 3/8 rod for a nut should work🤔

Have you seen the OEM up close and personal in my videos? With my new Smithy, I can knock one out pretty easily. The originals are extremely hard to find if at all. Mine is only the second one I've ever seen in all my years with these machines. Cheers my Friend! Zip~

Good info to know it can be done. I am not sure this $30 service is necessary on each 3k or 5k oil change. Perhaps initially and annually depending upon mileage driven each year? Unless one has a rare or historical vehicle, or a sentimental reason to obtain this info each time, it is as expensive as the oil change itself. Or it may be useful if you suspect a specific problem, such as a leaky injector or a slight internal coolant leak.
@ZippoVarga3 жыл бұрын
Exactly on point there my Friend! Generally, when I get a new to me vehicle, it gets an oil analysis. Then if it comes back good, I'll maybe send a sample in every 10,000 miles or so. Which by the way.....usually takes me MANY YEARS to attain lol. Yep..I don't drive much and with two vehicles, the mileage is further reduced by half, give or take. If you think about it....if you change your oil every 3K miles, it only costs you .01 per mile to do the test. If you go 6,000, then it's just half a cent per mile. Cheap insurance if you ask me. Thanks for stopping by Buddy! Zip~

@ZippoVarga3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mr. Mule! I got the report back and her engine passed with flying colors on a Remanufactured engine. Another 1,000-1,500 miles and I'll do another oil change and send in another sample along with a transmission oil sample to see how the 4L80E transmission is holding up. I'll shoot another video on the results of the oil analysis soon. Cheers! Zip~

Think of it this way. It's peace of mind for just .01 for a 3,000 mile oil change or half a cent for a 6,000 mile oil change. Not a bad insurance policy if you think about it. But you're exactly right Sniper!! Most would never even consider this. Zip~

I agree, most everyday Joe isn't doing this. In fact, I know no one that does this... however, after getting my new diesel truck I decided that it definitely isn't a "waist" of money. Like shown in the video, this shows me the health of the motor, and at every oil change I send in a sample so I can see trends. For beater vehicles, I wouldn't worry about it, but for a $70k+ truck... these analysis are worth it!
