I have owned three boats in my life and one of them was a Boston whaler and that was my very favorite boat I always felt safe in that boat knowing that that boat would not sync a bilge pump was not necessary because it was self bailing.

Where can I buy this foam?? Im reztoring a boat and Ive had to remove several pounds of water logged foam. And Id like to replace it with the best stuff possible.. I would like buoyancy though.. Nothing thats gonna drag it down

Check us composites their 2 part foam but think more how you're gonna pour it and since you probably can't clamp a fiberglass top skin down, you'll need plywood weighted and anchored down with relief holes cut in for the foam to oooz and escape or it'll blow the top right off

Dont use two part foams, they ALL will soak up water. Read the data sheets.!!

It is part A nd B 2 lb foam just like what is used in most other boats. "Whaler" does not make this foam.

It’s also a flotation foam. Not structural.

Yet you'll never find a photo of one on the seabed. Yes, you can roll them but you cant sink one.

The foam is great until it gets waterlogged, then it becomes a sponge

Not if its closed cell foam.

@@vannigiovannigio8861 this may be true, so the question would be this... Why would a BOAT company use foam that can be waterlogged? I have seen several videos of water-logged boats that used foam even Boston Whalers, so why would they put foam in a boat that could be waterlogged is the question.
@vannigiovannigio8861 Жыл бұрын
@@Digital-Sparks My guess would be that there isn't any perfectly made boat. They are probably using their tested recipe for building a boat. If the boat is taken care of, the foam inside shouldn't ever see water. Boats just don't leak or acquire a hull crack. Someone made it leak. If it leaks have it repaired. Right? That way there isn't any time for foam damage.

When the foam in a boat gets water logged, it's usually because the foam was not mixed correctly
