I don't know if you've done this, but, the situation where Michael's son is kidnapped by a KZbinr type (GTA 5) all you have to do is follow the car to the beach. There is a pipe that blocks there path do when they try to back up you block them get out of your car and shoot out their tires. Be patient and the task is easier. 😁

you forgot GTA Episodes from Liberty City, in the GTA IV DLCs the bridges are open despite in GTA IV that they are closed.

Isn't Episodes from LC, and I mean the actual DLCs, not the main game (GTA IV still has bridges closed even in that edition), like overlapping? They don't take place at the time when Niko arrived on board the Platypuss, but much later. Don't know when exactly (as I haven't started playing the DLCs yet), but it should be at the time when Niko can access at least the 2nd island, if not the 3rd.

In gay tony it makes sense because the game takes place when all the bridges are open. In lost and damned though it doesn't but then again the whole game has a weird timeline of jumping forward a lot like its a memory. That is my head canon of lost and damned. Memories that you play. So gta 4 and ballad of gay tony is what happened and lost and damned is memories of what happened like with mafia 2.(Vito ages a lot between mafia 2 and 3 and in Mafia 2 no matter how many years pass Vito looks the same as he did when he was 18. And in mafia 1 definitive edition Vito looks older than he does in mafia 2 in the last scene)

Yes but there's an invisible wall. Technically he could reach Prawn Island with his swim meter but he can't because of wall.

the further you get out in the water, the rougher the waves become, and it makes it really difficult to make it to the other side. You just end up drowning

Another way you can get around the bridge in San Andreas. You can get on a train go fast enough and just go right through the barrier.

In GTA 3 you could do a weird glitch with the trashing car thingy. Just need to play a mission with a person, then leave/enter the car at the right moment so the magnet grabs it and then lets it go. Then you can drive through the tunnel wall.

In gta vcs I accidently found a way to access the other island when I was a kid. I just jumped into a little pit where a pipe was in on a construction site near the airport. Then Vic got stuck, a loading screen appeared and I ended up near the ferris wheel.

I remember in gta vc i would get 2 stars and go behind the pay n spray that has the dock behind it and police boats would spawn when near the water

definitely not. maybe there was other versions? I used to use an ambulance to jump over the gate where he used the bike. I'd stroll over to the police station and take the helicopter. No wanted level

Wish I knew that Vice City trick back then. Suicide jumps off the bridge into boats by the mall was not efficient to say the least lol.

Bro i had Vice City Stories for the psp and i was on top of a structure near the first safehouse, i threw a grenade at the corner of the structure and it sent me flying towards the golf course on other island. I ended up falling in the water and unable to get back on land. I tried recreating the incident but was never able to do it again. I never thought of doing the bike trick! I wish i knew then.

I always used the cars fly and float on water cheat in Vice City. I swear I remember getting a wanted level once I'd gotten far enough in the water. Maybe I'm misremembering. I'd also hijack the train in San Andreas and drive it full speed at the barrier, and it can't stop itself in time so it plows through the barrier allowing access to the rest of the map, albeit with a wanted level.

Vercetti is a mob guy who grew up in a big city. Not many pools around to learn to swim, and nobody wants to learn to swim in nasty polluted industrial water surrounding either Chicago or New York.

Might I be only person who loved the Island restrictions? Sure you couldn't explore, yet. But that's the fun part like for example in GTA SA you could explore everything in LS do missions and after certain point you go to other island towards SF exploring there and so on to LV at end. It all felt rewarding and very less boring. GTA V made it boring for me already I just couldn't spend more hrs after going throughout map I always stick to old games for this. (Also lore story etc. not just restrictions)

One slight detail you did miss was the pipeline in the water that prevents the player from crossing Staunton Island to Shoreside Vale by boat.

I remember going up on the bridge next to the mall in VC and trying to jump onto boats as they passed by. 9 out of 10 times I failed but that's how I did it.

I used the tunnel in GTA 3 , I use the movie studio GTA VICE CITY and I used the freight train in GTASA by busting through the blockades at the UNITY STATION ,

I remember that I could drive through the barrier in gta vice city if you drove fast enough and you would just go through the barrier. I also remember there was a version where you could drive into a barrier really fast and it would break and fall into the ground but considering that it was on pirated Russian version of gta vc it might have been a mod.

Id love for them to bring back the limitation to exploring, it made exploring feel so much better instead of being able to see everything day one.

i think CJ was the one who blew up the Bridge that was from the ferry terminal because there was no way for tommy to do it because he cant swim and CJ can. I think during the 1980's the Liberty Ocean wasnt polluted and if it was, the bridge would have not blown up

The way I went shoreside vale is go to the location where it is pointed to the mountains wander around and then you’ll see a tunnel to shoreside vale

Because you're not supposed to go there yet. You can bypass them by progressing through the game.

In GTA Vice City you can go across the the water with the Hover Craft cheat code.

The most disappointing about GTA 5 & what makes it so boring when it comes to being open world is because once you finish the prologue you can explore the map as much as you want to. Not to mention they really had a big misopportunity to make North Yankton as an unlockable place.

Actually thought they were going this route first timebi played and made it to the Brad discovery part. Man was I a bit disappointed. It would've been cool laying low there with a set people looking for you as well, like have to do 2 or 3 missions before Trevor finale shootout.

I ain't mad that the bridges are closed until you complete missions upon the new area....I like the fact being the bridges closed....I can focus on one area's main, side & hustle quest so by the time I unlock a new area ....I would been upgraded my appearance, cars, brought high powered assault guns, & unlock a few new safe houses....Going into a new area with me leveled up makes my game play much easier....this just my perspective....!!!¡ 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Fun fact episodes from liberty city aka lost and the damned and the battle of gay Tony has no more island restrictions. Still want skip ⏭ mission and Tommy Vercetti and Claude speed and Toni to swim 🏊‍♂ too. Aka continue story would work too.

@@fallvec1423 I think their story takes place later than Niko's. There is an overlap with the Diamonds mission (the one, where Niko has to give them diamonds for a girl they kidnapped) and we get to see that mission from their side, so the Episodes take place simultaneously, but not from the exact moment, when Niko arrived in Liberty City, so I think their story begins at some point where Niko can access at least the 2nd island, if not all 3. Haven't started the Episodes yet, just the main game, so not sure, but I think they begin later during Niko's story anyway.
