I Disagree strongly because louie ate all of the pikpik carrots which started pikmin 2 AND also made the loan sharks mad at the president (he also lied and said a space bunny did it). He even made olimar travel back to PNF-404 in pikmin 2 because louie got out, also in the notes for the titan dweevil in pikmin 2 it says that louie was the one who hijacked its brain meaning that he tried to kill both olimar and the president, he also ate literally stole all of the koppaites food in pikmin 3, and in the side stories for deluxe, one of the levels is just olimar looking for louie because he ran off with all of the treasure they collected and it is said so in olimars log entry. And if it counts he also may have eaten pikmin because he drooled when he first met one.

I love Brittany and I love Louie especially, the dude is my favorite character in Pikmin. But Louie is a terrible dude, he literally indebted his company via his gluttony and lied about it, and tried to kill Olimar, twice, I wouldn’t say he’s any better than her, and being yelled at certainly isn’t enough for his literal criminal activity. Now Brittany ain’t perfect, of course she isn’t, she’s mean, bratty, has 2/4th of Louie’s gluttony, and has a vendetta against Hocotations.. but I love them both for how imperfect they are. They aren’t just a buncha nicey nice characters.

I don’t view Louie as a bad person in Pikmin 3, but rather as a generally normal person. Sure, Louie does several harmful acts, but his motivations don’t indicate he’s actually bad. Louie abandoned Olimar to the plasm wraith because he was too afraid to stay around for any longer once the creature began approaching. Louie had tried warning Olimar about the danger he sensed in the area (implied in the first Formidable Oak data file and in the oak survey log), but Olimar ignored each warning. Personally, I see Olimar to be more responsible for his capture than Louie is. Louie did run off with the Koppaites’ food supply and rubber duck after they saved him; however, he didn’t know they rescued him. Louie said in the S.O.S. call from the Twilight River, “Anyone? Captain Olimar…help!” Louie didn’t know who he contacted and was hoping he had contacted Olimar. After the Koppaites brought Louie into their spaceship, they all went to sleep. When Louie woke up, none of the Koppaites were awake to remind him that he was attacked by the scornets nor to explain they had saved him. An unused/unfinished expedition log called, With the Treasure, had Louie say to himself that he was abducted by the Koppaites. Louie ran off from them because he assumed they kidnapped him. Louie ran off with their food supply to avoid starvation while stranded on the planet. Louie stole Charlie’s rubber duck because it resembles a Pikmin 2 treasure. Louie stole the rubber duck out of desperation to return to Hocotate sooner, since Olimar brought him to the Formidable Oak in an attempt to collect more treasure. Louie was just tired of Olimar putting his life in danger, so he stole the rubber duck just in case Olimar was by the Hocotate spaceship. Olimar wasn’t going to let Louie return to Hocotate unless they had enough treasure to buy back Olimar’s S.S. Dolphin (implied in the data file by the Hocotate Freight spaceship).
