I met Burt and Tracy Ward at their dog rescue in 1997 when I was having behavior problems with my Great Dane puppy. It was a memorable experience. They were both so nice, gracious and down to earth. It only hit me on the drive home who he was. I kept saying to my kids, “I know his name from somewhere.” Granted I was 5 or 6 when I watched Batman. Lovely genuine people who honestly wanted to help dogs and their owners.

The title question includes a false premise, as I believe it can be stated with confidence that young Mr. Ward never had any desire to shrink his genitalia.
@curtischildress95802 жыл бұрын
Censors probably had problems with Ward's physique below his belt as probably did some very conservative viewers who were concentrating on things most of us never paid attention to...I watched the show back when it aired & never once saw a reason to crotch-watch anybody. Censors back in the 1950s & 1960s were very odd, even making several actors shave their chests before doing shirtless scenes or because their chest hair could be noticed through their shirt collars...William Shatner on Star Trek was told to shave his chest so he would appear more civilized & less barbaric & wild...Leonard Nimoy was told to keep his chest hair because they said it made him look more devilish & alien. ...Also, no man would volunteer to shrink his package unless he desperately needed money...there are types of jockstraps any man can wear that makes his private shape nicely contoured instead of being obvious.

I was around 6 years old when the Batman series began. It was my favorite show. But, I will say, I only watched to see Robin. I've always leaned towards hero characters that were still considered teenagers that could kick grown mens asses. Hehehehehe. Living in Glendale, CA at the time, my grandmother had somehow managed to get me an exact duplicate of Robins yellow cape. Wearing colored underwear and t-shirt, I became Robin when I was needed for emergency situations...eheheheheheh. Ahhhh, Good Times. :)

That's the difference between kids and adults. THEY are the ones who are obsessed with sex. Kids just see a cool superhero they want to be. They just want to watch and be part of the story. Get caught up in it. When you lose your ability to imagine, lose your ability to believe in the magic of the story, you become one of "those" adults.

Burt's Alma Mater, Beverly Hills High School, was used in Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life" (1946), in the class reunion scene where Mary's ex-boyfriend (portrayed by Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer) enacts revenge on she and George (actor Jimmy Stewart) for coupling up during his date with her by turning the key which sent the entire dancing party into the swimming pool floor.
