Why Buy 2024 Toyota Sequoia Platinum?

This is my first time owning a full sized SUV and after driving the ‘24 Sequoia Platinum for the past six weeks,here are my observations. First the seats are firmer compared to the Expedition Limited and Infinity QX80. Gas Mileage 13-15MPG City 18-23MPG Hwy. it is more fuel efficient to use “Normal” mode when driving on city streets with stop and go traffic. Full tank on a road trip is approximately 450miles. The drive is very comfortable. There’s seems to be an issue with the power liftgate. If you opened the rear hatch and not made sure it was completely shut, you will have the error tone when using the liftgate. Indoor cabin is very quiet, ventilated and heated seats are very comfortable. The vehicle does not have the Toyota “Digital Key”but the Toyota App for remote start and lock/unlock works. I am unsure why it was not available. For charging your phones, this comes with both USB A and USB C ports. It doesn’t have the traditional “cigarette adapter”.

What did Toyota do? What happened to the rear cargo area? My Gen 1 and Gen 2 have fold flat seating??? This is horrible!! It is smaller!!!!

The Sequoia would make a good camping or ski vehicle. I haven't seen any in Maryland yet.

Toyota should make a grand sequoia make it a little bigger. definitely need fully flat folding third row and sliding second row

I have a 2023 and love it. But….When will Toyota come out and admit these have the same engine issues. Having a hybrid and being able to “pull over” to the side the road is not any safer.

You are obviously a Toyota salesman or a shill for Toyota. Not one negative point about this SUV in whole video. For this price point the cheap plastics with seemingly really poor fit and finish are used throughout this is embarrassing. Go sit in a new Mazda suv and compare the interior quality. I am not saying the Mazda has the same off road capabilities etc but a 55k Mazda interior compared to this 80k suv really???The lack of cargo room and no flat floor in rear....I understand the battery is there but for all the years Toyota had to redesign this SUV they botched it big time. They are charging how much for this?????

I had a 2023 Sequoia Platinum and I think it was a great SUV. But didn’t want to deal with the engine issue and traded it in for a 2024 4Runner Limited. I would purchase again once they resolve the engine issues.

@@melisathompson2 I had a 2023 Sequoia Platinum with a build date of February 2023, which was the date range of the non-hybrid engine recall. I loved the vehicle but the MPG dropped from an average of 20.4 to 18.6 in a month period, and it developed a jolt/kick from the rear differential during 15 mph to 25 mph acceleration. They did not recall the hybrids, but they are the same engines with a hybrid system. I drive quite a bit and didn’t want to take a chance. I will probably get a 2025 Sequoia Capstone or 1794 next summer. What year did you buy and was it new?

I bought mine June this year , new, 2024 platinum model. I’m getting like 19mpg. No issues yet but just have been seeing a lot of bad reviews all around so I’m a bit skeptical now

@@melisathompson2 you will be okay. If they would have had a Black or Silver 2024 Capstone I would have purchased another Sequoia. But the 2025 will get massaging seats in the upper trims and the 1794 Edition so it will work out for me.

Beautiful! We were planning to buy a 24 Sequoia until I learned that the ONLY engine available is Hybrid. Deal Killer for me. We'll just stick with our older Sequoia and see if Toyota comes to their senses.

I've rented vehicles with the digital rearview mirror; the worst version was on the most expensive SUV (it rhymes with "cheap brand engineer"). Overall, I like the idea, but I usually forgot it was available and stuck to the traditional view 😆

That happened to machining issues and the transmission is due to the torque convertor.
