At 12:23 When I talk about maintenance intervals, I read from the brochure wrong. I read the sheet in kilometres and not miles. Short Haul Oil Change is 35K miles and Long Haul Oil Change is 50K miles. Sorry for the slip up there. Thanks for the support! - Chuck

Being an ex truck driver I can say that I wouldn't drive a cabover then and I wouldn't now for an RV. I have been at a lot of accident scenes over the years and your survival chances in a head on collision are better in a well made class C over a "first on the accident scene" class A. The point that Chuck makes about the passenger feeling like they are falling off the road is very true, it is very unnerving to be in the passenger seat and have the edge of the road or feel like other vehicles are close enough to touch out the window. It blows my mind that with all the advances in safety and standards that they still have drivers in front of the front wheel, no crumple zone is going to help keep you from eating the front of another vehicle in a wreck situation.

IWS has got to be the best place to buy an RV. Watch their other vids and you'll see how this guy presents his product in clear detail from the mechanics, structural integrity and features. He doesn't come across as trying to sell you something, he's educating the viewer so when ready to buy you know exactly what you're buying and his product and personal service stands far above others.

On Thursday the 25th of June I had the pleasure of meeting with Mike Hurt at your dealership and was impressed from the moment I arrived until I departed 4 hours later. Of all of the excellent points I could make, and they are numerous, was have incredibly clean everything was. When I walked into the showroom I was taken back by how everything actually gleamed, what a great first impression. Even as Mike and I walked the grounds as he showed me around the grounds were immaculate both in the gravel, behind the buildings and of course on the payment. Mike made me feel welcome and at home the entire time and is a walking encyclopedia of information, thank you.

Hi Chuck, I don't even own an RV/Motorhome, but, I clicked on your video and found it fascinating to watch. You are a true professional and really know what you're talking about. I see the clear advantage of the design of a class C motorcoach. You make a very strong argument for the advantage re: drivability of the class C configuration of engine, wheel and driver seat versus the class A Box with wheels design. I truly see the advantage that the class C has over the class A design, plus you are driving a Freightliner with a 600 Hp Detroit Diesel versus a Unicorn with a sideways rear-mounted whatever gasoline engine. I am a retired physician and the son of a Chevrolet Dealer, and grandson of a Chevrolet Dealer. I enjoyed your video and I learned a great deal, thank you. Mike Rosen, M.D.

Chuck I can’t thank you enough for doing this video. I have entertained the idea of an RV for a long time and now that I’m retired considering it even more seriously. You have brought things to light in this video that I would’ve never thought to consider before. this type of motorhome has been on my Wish List ever since I saw the first one I saw in Langley, BC about 3 years ago... having driven air equipped vehicles for 43 years, I would opt for these motorhomes over a Class A anytime... having driven both flat nosed and conventional vehicles, the conventional are much more comfortable and so much easier for stopping. one question:...can I have my own layout implemented ... Chuck you did an awesome job...thank you

You make a good argument for the Class C-type RV. However, because of my experience, I like a class A... preferably one built on a bus-like chassis, with the steering wheels behind me. I was a city and tour bus driver for over 30 years, so that driving position is quite comfortable to me. First, it aids parking... I have parallel-parked a 40-foot MCI in a cul-de-sac by Lake Tahoe on many occasions. The long nose of a Super C, particularly, decreases visibility to the near front, making such parking maneuvers difficult. And, the Super C has a longer wheelbase than a comparably-sized bus, making the turning radius much larger. And for me, as a solo traveler, I'm not concerned about the distance between my passenger and me. In fact, I replaced the passenger seat with a desk! The one thing I will say is that, on the road, the Super-C is much more comfortable than a front-engine Class A with the driver sitting right over, and feeling all the bumps from, the front wheels.

I used to want a class A. That was a long long time ago. A’s are harder to work on, and there is no driver escape. And some have the the only door in on the passenger way to get in. And you are correct about safety on the C. I will come and see you. I have been watching your channel for for 3 years. And I keep coming back. This will be my home, so I need the most reliable and pulling capacity! I am definitely calling you soon! Diesels are more expensive because they last longer

I love the advantages of the class C. I grew up behind a hood looking at a bulldog. Nothing more miserable than working on a pusher engine. I would love to have one built on a Glidder with a 6nz Cat and a 13 or 18 speed, no Allison for me!

We love full timing in our DutchStar. We love traveling of all forms; 5th wheel, bumper pull, van conversions, bus conversions, all forms of C class. Each one has its benefits for the user. NONE are the best at everything. That's for the newbies here. He likes 'em because they are what he works on. ALL types have their own clear advantages. In one bullet point class A gassers were compared. Then in another point class A diesel was used to make a point. If you must put others down in order to make a point, well, how strong is your point? RVing is a family sport guys, find out what you and yours need and go from there. Go to shows, watch some videos, talk to people. Consider all prior to purchase. One more thing. If any salesman ever spends more time putting other stuff down than talking about what he's trying to sell? Walk away... 🌞 ! go travel ! 😎

BTW, a rear-engined Class A has the engine turned backward, not sideways. Some older buses (mostly GM before 1990) had engines mounted sideways with an angle-drive to the rear axle. That was done to increase passenger space. The hardest vehicles to work on, IMHO, are the front-engine Class A, where you have to take off the "doghouse" to get at the top of the engine, just to change oil.

Hi...Chuck, Before see this video, I do plan to purchase a Class C motorhome instead of a Class A. First of all, is about the Driver's License, as I only have a Class C license and Class A license need to pass DMV different tests to obtain one. Secondly, I do prefer to have the engine in front of me perhaps I have get used to drive an ordinary car in daily life for commute ... its a kind of " get used to " practise ! Lastly, I can say I totally agreed with your points of picking a Class C ! Thank You for sharing your experience with us !

Chuck, what I really like about you is your style. You're a regular Guy, not a Spit and Polished on how you present your subject and you speak as a Customer first. I know it's a business and you have to make money but I'd have no problem buying from you. I want a Super so bad. We've talked about a Prevost but the Wife refuses to even think about it. I've looked at a "flashy" Nationwide dealer and I'm not playing that game. There're ignorant about it and it shows. We're 58 so I think we're close to you age wise and We have a great 24FT puller that we love but I want pull in and just Chill. I'm ready my Type "A" Wife is n't wants to keep working. Stinks a little when you're done with the work world but your wife loves her career and just wants to keep going. Hopefully sooner than later we'll be seeing you. One question,Are these Custom Builds and if so what's the time frame on getting one from start to finish, cash. Not a stroker?? I think that's correct.

Few questions 1. Super C has air brakes. Do I need a CDL? 2. Tandem rear axles do I need to stop at the truck scales on the interstate 3. I get 200 gallons of diesel can I park in the trucker parking lot at Flying J or Pilots? 4. Is there a limit on my driving hours like a commercial driver? 5. Should I get a professional GPS system where I can input the Super C weight, width and height for low bridge obstructions

I had been shopping for a class a and was shocked to learn that a prominent local couple who had been killed in a wreck just outside our city had actually died in a class a motor home. It was reported that the class a had changed lanes and departed the highway. The couple and their dog were crushed by the frame. I think the structure of a super c can probably would have protected them. I don’t know that, but it’s at least possible in a super c and not possible in a class a.

I know nothing about RV's or the lifestyle or the problems that come from doing it, etc. etc. I have watched several of your videos on several different coaches, excellent descriptions and videography, so thank you. I just finished watching your 29 min super class c video. Superb, so apparently this is going to be the only way to go. I dont know if I have enough money or what not to try to do something like this, but I am extremely interested. My wife and I started a business a little over a year ago and it seems to be gaining a little traction. We are fairly young, I'm 42 and she is 37, so we could definitely put some miles on something. She is a bit of a priss, not that I mind, so all the amenities would be well received. Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I appreciate your in depth descriptions and videos. You guys offer 100 year financing? On a serious note, when I get my super C, I’ll be going to IWS because of Chuck.

I know you’re kidding but.... I think it can be financed for up to 30 years (dont quote me and it probably depends on the financing company). I know 10, 15, 20 for sure.

To be honest, those american RVs are things to dream about and work for, even thou i couldn't make 'em work over here in Germany, Commercial License needed, and too big of a turning circle and too big of a wheelbase BUT, Class C ( like those Ford F450/550 and so on) is still achievable and that's what coming, sooner or later :) thanks for this very informative video. Thank you very much Sir. Best Regards

A Super C is most definitely safer than a Class A. The truck chassis in a Super C have been crash tested and you have all that hood and engine as a crumple zone vs riding right on top of the front bumper in a Class A.

I'm sure the super c's are nice, but I drive 3 rear engine buses, one of which is my personal Newmar and there are some things that aren't quite accurate. There needs to be a distinction between a diesel pusher class A and a front engine gasoline model. Until the super C came out, the class A diesel pushers were the only buses out there that had industrial truck chassis'. They are the same as the new super c and also made by Freightliner among other big truck manufacturers and have been around for over 25 years. These haul well over "5,000" lbs. Most are over 10,000. I've never heard of a transverse mounted diesel pusher. Not saying they don't exist, just certainly not prevalent enough to be a point in an argument over class A or Super c. Of the 3 pushers I drive, all different manufacturers, none are transverse. The engines are diesels just like the super c. The only thing that's different is where their mounted and the style of motorhome. The driving position certainly is different, but ever since I owned my 72 VW bus, I fell in love with the maneuverability and accuracy with which you can handle that type of vehicle when you sit over the wheels, you are not looking down over a long hood and you can very easily see how close you are to an object with your front end. Some, depending on chassis have a much tighter turning radius. Coincidentally, the bus I drive that's on the freightliner chassis has a turning radius I would swear is the same as my 4 door Silverado pickup. I have never noticed the seating position to be an issue for communication. What I do like about it is that there is much more room for getting in and out of the seats, and they are on the same level as the living room, so you can just swivel them around and you have 2 additional seating spaces. All class A with diesel engines have full air brakes and air ride suspension with full gauging. Always have. You make a good point about the front engine in the Super c, I does seem like it would be easier to access, but I've never had a problem getting any RV or truck place to work on mine. I think the part about price being more is definitely true, but it's more for all diesels than gasoline and more for any RV than car or truck. They don't change labor rates for working on class A diesel versus class C and Cummins and freightliner etc are expensive no matter what. I would be interested in driving a super c some time, but I don't think one is inherently better than the other. Both diesel, both truck chassis both have Jake brakes, both have Allison transmissions. They are just built for different needs. Class C is generally for those who have more than 2 people traveling most of the time. Class A tends to be for 2 people, with more, on occasion. Of course, this is not a hard and fast rule. They can be laid out any way that suits the buyer. It's just a matter of preference.

i would trust the dt 12 trans for longevity over the Allison the Detroit engine can actually make more braking hp than towing hp. not just variable valve timing but adding the "fan on" and turbo spool up to pack more air in the cylinders. most shops will not allow customers in the shop area due to insurance liability issues, so you cannot be in the rv when it is in the shop. a wrecker must raise the front end of the towed vehicle to gain control of it. how high can you raise the rv before the tail drags?

Great sales pitch, you sold me. Within the next year or so I'll be looking for a "Super Class C RV. I'll be looking you up. I have a couple of questions. #1 If I needed a tow, and I was towing a 20 to 30 foot "Stacker trailer" on a 45 foot Super Class C, how would it play out? Will I have to find another way to tow my trailer? #2 Floor plan. I'm so sick and tired of the same ole floor plans. I don't know how many floor plans you all have, but I would like to take one of yours, and modify it to my specs, making a few changes. Can you do that?

The bigger the RV, the fewer places you can park it. With a big RV, your view out the window will always be acres of other big RVs. With a Class B, you have a lot more choices, such as BLM areas.
