Exo Terra

11 жыл бұрын

The Exo Terra Glass Terrarium is the ideal reptile or amphibian housing designed by European herpetologists. The front opening doors allow easy access for maintenance and feeding. A specially designed lock will prevent escape and the doors can be opened separately. The full screen top ventilation allows UVB and infrared penetration, and is completely removable for easy access while decorating or cleaning. In the back of the screen cover are 5 closable wire or tube inlets on both sides to install Heat Wave Rocks, Waterfalls, sensors, etc. inside the terrarium. The bottom plate of the terrarium is raised to mount a substrate heater to heat a part of the extended ground surface. The extra high fixed front window is ideal for thick layers of substrates (burrowing reptiles), aquatic parts (paludarium) or to mount an Exo Terra reptile den. The natural background is in the same colour like all other Exo Terra decoration items
(Water Dishes, Waterfalls, Heat Wave Rocks, etc.) and provides an extra climbing dimension.

Almost Perfect -- the frame of the top is plastic so if you have desert animals you have to be very careful with your heat lamps -- the plastic frame on ours melted and could have resulted in a fire if we hadn't caught it.

Itz MitchMitch it's not the sand that's the problem it's the lack of nutrients giving to the animal which then causes the animal to eat the sand in an attempt to gain these nutrients, animals swallow bits of sand and stone all the time in the wild but captivity causes all sorts of problems

Um hi how's it going. I know this comment is relatively old, but I use sand for my Western Banded Gecko. I have done my research and these species of gecko have been found in sandy areas of the Mojave, Sonoran, and Colorado deserts. These websites are all reliable research from herpetological and governmental sites. There are owners that uses sand for them especially a famous reptile KZbinr. The breeder that I got him from uses sand as well. The point is do you have to do your research. There are reptiles that thrive in sand in the wild. Also talk to the breeders because there is breeders out there that breed certain reptiles and they do use sand. Overrall the owner of the reptile has the option to use the substrate they think is best for their reptile.

I have a baby iguana and he's growing like California giant kelp. I am a touch pressed for funds but will do anything for my little Madesi. I want to know how much a more vertical one would cost. @jamesgrant9320

kai james hucknall I would stick to a smaller cage at the beginning a 2 gal would be perfect to allow it to catch its food some tarantulas can suffer from agoraphobia (fear of large spaces) as predators lurk in the open, so the smaller the tarantula the smaller the cage upgrade once it's no longer a spiderling or it may not catch its food

not digging the black ventilation strip that ruins the front view. would be better to put that on the sides, not the front. for the taller units this is not an issue but for the low profile terrariums that are 12inch tall this strip takes up a bulk of the front viewing area.

Well it's up based on your preference and research, 24" x 18" x 18" is the typical: put your ball in a 20 gallon for its whole life" people. I prefer larger, something like a 40 gallon breeder equivalent, so the 36" x 18" x 18/24" (the height could be an 18" but I prefer 24" you could go for taller if it's your preference and you want to provide some verticality) keep in mind for larger cage had hiding spots and feel free to acomodate your snake so that it can thrive in a larger enclosure.

I think that would be perfect for a leopard gecko. These are good, because you don't have to reach your hands in from above. Good dimensions all around.

Problem with these I'd you half to clingfilm half of the top to maintain any humidity at all unless you have plantation soil a fogget and spray effect every 5 hours lol

+Nathan Jabbar ahh, do you have the old model? The current ones have sliding stoppers to block that gap which can be seen in the video.

+Nathan Jabbar well you either have a really smart frog or the lid wasn't on properly. Maybe a defect in manufacturing.

It's too tall for me. Otherwise I would have heating problems and would need stronger bulbs.
