If i were sony i would relaunch the Vita. it still has a great form factor and awesome specs. Release more colors for the slim, drop the price to $149 and drop the memory cards price by 50%. There's no reason to abandon the Vita. give incentives for more Japanese developers to translate games for the west. Invite AAA publishers to port last gen PS2/PS3 era games to the Vita and release some exclusives. Seriously you have this great handheld that can do awesome remote play with the PS4 with a little investment the vita can catch on.

The reason I bought a Vita was Persona 4 Golden. Essentially, take one of the best JRPGs ever made, and make it even better by adding even more content, making it true widescreen, packing in a ton of extras and features, and making the whole thing portable so you can play P4 anywhere. Persona 4 Golden is so good that even if it's the only game you buy, you'll still be satisfied with the purchase of the system.

I should also add that P4G isn't the ONLY reason to buy a Vita; there are many more excellent games for the system including Muramasa Rebirth, Hyperdimention Neptunia Rebirth, Touch my Katamari, Ys memories of celceta, Spelunky, Shovel Knight, Danganronpa and more. Plus many of PS1's best games, most of the PSP library (although there are some frustrating omissions like Megaman Powered Up) and if you have a PS4, there's the Remote Play feature, which is really cool and effectively does the same thing as the WiiU with off-tv play. It is very awesome to play PS4 games while laying in bed. Really, the only reason to not buy a Vita is if you for some reason hate Japanese developed games, in particular RPGs. If RPGs aren't for you, the Vita probably isn't either. But if you do like RPGs, go buy a Vita right now. You will not regret the purchase.

thellama gamingc None of those yet. I originally bought a Vita TV pretty much JUST to play Persona 4 Golden. I eventually also bought a Vita, but my Vita collection is still somewhat small. I've got: Persona 4 Golden Danganronpa Muramasa Rebirth Touch My Katamari Ys 4 remake Spelunky Shovel Knight Steamworld Dig Retro City Ransom DX Tales of Hearts R Hyperdimention Neptunia Rebirth 1 Hyperdimention Neptunia Rebirth 2 Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable Then I also have quite a number of PSP games, and PS1 Classics. I love the Vita. I also have a 3DS, but in comparison I hardly ever use my 3DS. It quite literally collects dust in comparison.

The one MAJOR FLAW with this system, and it is MAJOR, is the prices of the memory cards/sticks, as you mentioned. I do believe that this was the one thing that held people back from purchasing the system. Oh, plus the fact that having created the system Sony then failed to support it in any way. I have the slim version of the Vita, with only a few games for it. I flatly refuse to purchase a memory card with enough space to enable me to download more games, simply because of the prices of the cards.

Throughout all those years the Vita has been around Sony has been in a deep financial mess. The videogame division is the only thing that's generating money for them, it became a cash cow in order to save the entire company, that's one of the reasons, I think, they haven't made the cards cheaper. They are proprietary for a practical reason, as well: in order to avoid piracy. Still, I think it's a great console, and it can get even better in the future. It may be the last dedicated portable video game console ever.

W Leon I plan on getting on for black ops declassified and other games etc and remote play lol but anyway the memory card thing u said I remember when the psp was the new thing it was the same thing needed the official Sony psp memory cards for space for game saves music and etc and they did the same thing amazon has vita memory cards on sale I think the 16gb was around 30 dollars but the 64 is 110 ridiculous but anyway Ima get the slim one it has 1gb built in that and the charger port is the same as the ps4 controller charger so if I lose the charger I have a spare or if I wanna add music to the vita etc

Though his DC handheld design doesn't use the new thumbdrive/hard drive adaptors that are now available, which would scale the DC handheld much smaller by eliminating the large/noisy/power-consuming GD-ROM drive. I could make my own Dreamcast handheld, though I would prefer to have something official from SEGA as a last hardware hurrah. So, just as the Dreamcast is *Still* *Thinking*, I'm still waiting...

Vita is awesome system and it has awesome games. I do also love to play PSP games on Vita. They look better and thanks to second analog stick it's more confortable to play some games such as The 3rd Birthday (second analog moves camera around). You SHOULD buy: -Killzone Mercenary (one of best FPS games in like last 8 years or so) -Ys for the Vita -Persona 4 golden

mvl71 I do have same problem man ;) It's probobly worst for me, cause I live in Poland - country when you earn ~1500 PLN/month and game consoles such as genesis/SNES costs aroung 700 PLN... Turbografx16 is 1600+, and even new games cost around 200 PLN+. Non the less you have a lot of great games on vita, I'll name the MUST HAVE titles: - Killzone mercenary - Ys: Memories of Celceta - Persona 4 Golden - Disgaea: infinite - Disgaea 3 - Disgaea 4 - Uncharted golden Abyss -Resistance burning Skies - Phantasy Star Nova -Gungnir - Brave Story Some of those titles might be also on PSP.

For the best remote play on PS4: turn on WIFI on your VITA, but don't connect to your router (or delete saved password). Pair both devices and PS4 will connect to VITA bypassing the router and the lag will be smallest as possible.

I honestly had high expectations for the Vita, being a big fan of the PSP, I had about 7 different PSPs lol, I was hoping the Vita would pick up on new games, but it has been turned down by a lot of the big game developers. so now all we're left with is an expensive remote for a ps4, or... well it's not good for music or video really, but i am not a fan of JRPGs or any of that anime stuff. I mostly like action, adventure games, or racing. but those aren't very common anymore. I still love the Vita, but I wish they'd do something with it, I had mine homebrew enabled for a bit. and yes, the memory cards are way too pricey for what they are.

As a big handheld player, it's nice to get great indie games like Proteus or Hotline Miami on the Vita. Tons of great ports and crossbuy stuff. Sadly, not a lot of original content though. That's my biggest gripe about the Vita, but all in all, I like it!

I can't brinf myself to unbox mine, i got the deluxe figure think it's by Mezco, comes with sooo many accessories and a real leather apron and mask! I also have the Leatherface Living Dead Doll (among my other 48 Living Dead Dolls) he is one of my favourite. But definitely my favourite horror movie character of all time! Nobody does it like Thomas haha, i love that he is featured in Mortal Kombat X aswell! Man its fun spilling blood with that chainsaw.

+Lexaind the second model is better, the battery life is superior to the 1000 series model and the display is not that much worse, and very important to note, sony has ceased producing the original vita charging cable, while the slim uses the same usb cable that smartphones use to charge and slim comes with 1gb internal storage

+Lexaind i got a new white/lime green one for the gf, mostly coz it costs almost the same as used in my country, plus the analog in these things seems delicate, so i dislike the idea of someone having been rough on them already. im about to get a new vita for myself, the matte orange is hella awesome, saw a guy buy a blue one, and the casing color seems as if its bleeding into reality, very surreal. as well as the L2/R2 trigger grips. these things from what i read are very tough tho, so if youre not oc, id doubt if you would run into problems with a used one, one thing to look for are ghosting tho from the analog, other than that, no prob getting a 2nd hand.

i think you slowly worked me down to getting a vita starting with this video. it goes with me everywhere. especially now with the vita2sd and enso, not too mention adrenaline psp emu. i was basically able to take my entire psp ms pro duo 32GB card and copy it to my my vita and all my iso's, cso's game saves, apps, home brew all work on my vita's 64GB micro sd card in its $5.00 vita2sd adapter.

In my opinion, The Vita is the best made handheld gaming console ever. Too bad it wasn't successful like the 3ds. Imagine games talor made for it like an Infamous or God of War. Maybe another Vita Uncharted game? It has so much potential. I really hope Sony eventually releases another handheld and it's very successful, because It's such a shame the Vita isn't more utilized.

when i remote play ps4 on my vita i get disconnected atleast once every 15 min and it tends to lag and go all glitch out every 10 min. and the weird thing is my ps4, router, and vita are within 8 feet of eachother. i bought my vita like 6 months before the ps4 was released so it might be the vita? cuz my wifi is very strong and barely ever disconnects

I've had my Vita since 2013 and have not regret buying it. I absolutely love it and play it more than my 3DS. In fact my 3DS is pretty much collecting dust and my Vita is the handheld I go to simply because it caters more to my taste. I adore the Vita and the fact I can use it for web browsing and Skype as well as gaming so for me it works as a tablet as well. The only and I mean the ONLY downside I can actually think of IS the price point of the memory cards and such but having a 32GB card for instance is worth the money. Rumor has it Sony's gonna announce huge price drops for the Vita at E3. Especially now since capcom is making deals with sony and microsoft (street fighter/dead rising 3), you would think they would keep monster hunter on PS too, yet that, they gave to nintendo. I got Fight Night and Tekken 6, Final Fantasy VII, and many more! Love the Vita! Only drawback for me was the smaller button layout. Another great series I don’t see mentioned is the Invisimals. Like a Pokémon type game that uses all of the Vita specific controls. A very fun game!

Brilliant summation dude, I got mine a couple of years ago now. I plumped for the OLED version because it was around £20 cheaper than the newer Vita. I love the system, but you're spot on about the memory card prices. It took a minor lottery win on a scratchcard before I could eventually drop the cash on a 64Gb, but it was worth it due to being a PSN+ subscriber.

Jonathan George Certain but not all psp games can be downloaded to the vita. One example is my Capcom Collection game is not available on the vita also certain ps1 games can only play on the ps3/psp like my crash bandicoot game. But mostly all games transfer and it's super easy.

I do love my Vita I take it with wherever I go out, not all the time, but a lot. Even in the bathroom. lol. Doc appointments, or out to eat,or just sitting in the sun room, or my bed, or like anywhere. Although sometimes I get tingly fingers from using the thing, it is still fun to play with. The Vita has a lot of titles I grew up playing, which is awesome. The Switch does not have that many racing games, yet, which that part sucks, where the Vita has more for racing. Also more rpgs for the Vita, though the Switch has some, still they need more games. The only nice thing about the Switch is that is bigger, and my not cramp up your hands. And you can use on TV and take off the control buttons. And the memory is not super expensive. I wish they make this for the Vita people.

Not yet, the rumors are that if you registered for the playstation developer program and have installed the PSM developer assistant on your vita, then good things are about to happen to you. Also the guy that announced this (Yifan Lu) is currently asking for help to build an open source SDK, with this you're able to create emulators and unofficial games :)

***** yes you can but you have to have a certain psp game to do so and even then you are basically using the psp emulation capabilities... but on the vita. Because through these psp games, you access the vitas internal psp emulator and then play them. So technically yes you can. Also you need a lower firmware vita, they patch and work around the exploits hackers make all the time. Just look up online

***** Yes, he meant that, but the only way to achieve it is by using the PSP emulator within the Vita, basically you run nes, snes emulators for the PSP inside the Vita, all you need is an exploit game and the proper firmware version on your Vita, the last ones for firmware 3.50 were Ape Escape: On the Loose, and Pool Hall Pro. If you have either of those games on your Vita all you need is transfer a program called Ark-2 or TN-Vita via CMA along with your emulators and you're good to go. Honestly is kinda complicated, but soon a new method to run unsigned code on the Vita will be disclosed and probably will be easier to load emulators (and hopefully) emulators created with Vita native code (no PSP emulator within the Vita usage).

It has so many games either coming out or something but you either don't hear about it or if you do it's not enough to give most a incentive to get stores to keep the stuff on the shelves...

Rockymann27 not the ones near me, they've either drastically reduced down what they have or have clearanced them out(bar the tv to some extent). It's kinda sad really since gamestop and amazon are my only choices if I want new games that aren't the more popularized ones that manage to get shelf space...

It's a bit ironic that they created the propriety SD cards to top piracy but then thought "Lets jack the price up of them as well. That won't make people buy knock of SD cards instead". Sony really are idiots. I'd love to know what goes through the managements heads. Surely someone there should be saying "Hang on. If we lower the price of our SD cards inline with normal SD cards then we'll sell loads of them. More people will then by the Vita and more people will purchase the digital games. We make more money." Odd.

Also kinda sucks that 64GB seems to be the maximum size, especially since there's quite a few vita games out there that require around 8GB of storage to be downloaded

Trent Stateler I really like BL2, but the vita version is inferior to other consoles. That being said i do love shooting shit up on the go
