And to be totally fair, that's not very different about miserably "hardcore fg fans" who know found out SNK thanks to CvS1-2, that are Capcom games from the 00s, the final years of Capcom 2d fgs... while SNK started making fgs since 91 (SF2's release year) and even made more different fgs than Capcom. So it's the same principle of sticking to your favorite game and not caring about knowing other things. There is a lot of fgc people who want to sound like experts but only have deep knowledge of the few mainstream franchises.

RYO SAKAZAKI is half RYU and KEN combine, folks. YURI SAKAZAKI, the sister of RYO in the 1st released of ART OF FIGHTING. YURI is like basically SAKURA in SFA1. A good display of the general public recognition of mainstream franchises vs non mainstream franchises. And it's obvious that people only were able to name Terry because of his appearance in SSBU. And i'm going to add that even inside the fgc, the group of the most hardcore fg fans, most SNK chars are only well recognized thanks to CvS2, that helped a lot to spread knowledge of SNK in places that dont have a SNK culture like north america.
