It's even worse... because Luigi actually became charismatic after some point in Nintendo history, after 3d graphics games and Smash started enhancing his personality. But Andy was never enhanced, his status is more or less stagnated in the franchise, and he is too overshadowed by Terry.

Companies in this genre (or pretty much in general) have been working hard to create a "product" that has the cultural impact of Chun-li's image... a character recognized by a total outsider to the SF franchise.

Sakurai was trying so hard to show his SNK love there. (Actually, I'm also a little surprised by those who had problems remembering Heihachi's name, since there was a Mii skin of him in Smash before Kazuya was added, and changes to that Mii if used in certain cases after Kazuya was added was mentioned in the Kazuya Direct. But they all recognized Terry, for his appearance in SSBU. And to be totally fair, that's not very different about miserably "hardcore fg fans" who know found out SNK thanks to CvS1-2, that are Capcom games from the 00s, the final years of Capcom 2d fgs... while SNK started making fgs since 91 (SF2's release year) and even made more different fgs than Capcom. So it's the same principle of sticking to your favorite game and not caring about knowing other things. There is a lot of fgc people who want to sound like experts but only have deep knowledge of the few mainstream franchises.

RYO SAKAZAKI is half RYU and KEN combine, folks. YURI SAKAZAKI, the sister of RYO in the 1st released of ART OF FIGHTING. YURI is like basically SAKURA in SFA1. People can't tell the difference cause they never played the game and know the history. Justin made the character cards too easy for me, 10/10. If he toss Terry and Andy's master's name in the mix, he would've gotten me stunt cause I haven't played Fatal Fury for 30 years. 🤣🤣🤣
