I think the issue is that the inclusion criteria for each tier is fuzzy. This is how I see it. S - You don’t get to play. These are the banned characters who break the game (Ivan Ooze, ST Akuma) A - Extremely good characters who define the meta. You can’t counterpick nor counter with knowledge (MvC2 Storm) B -- Oppressive characters who force you to do your homework. You’ll likely need a secondary. (S1 Happy Chaos) C - Dominating characters with *some* weaknesses. There may be multiple ways to deal with this person. (Iori) D - Modern top-tiers. Very strong characters in their own game, but they’re not getting any match-up higher than 6.5 (SF6 Ken)

SWAPPING MAGNETO MVC2 FOR SF4U ELENA!? WHAT!? magneto is literally one of the reasons the points system in mvc exists. Magneto is like a 4 iirc. Elena does not have an unblockable to death combo by herself in a damn tag game. Triangle flight wave dash? Broooo they are tripping with that one.

@@THENAMEISQUICKMAN have you played MVC2 at high level? I'm telling you magneto sentinel or cable don't let you play the game at all. They are so cheap a whole points system was designed to not let you pick those 3 together. Magneto was the cheapest of the 3. He also had multiple infinite combos.

Yeah Magneto was so busted & especially if you really didn’t know how to truly play. I remember playing a pro in MvC2 & it felt like they were cheating. I couldn’t do nothing . Magneto was washing my whole 3. We played like 2 hours straight. I was able to get Magneto out 1 time, 1 damn time.

The problem with this is that they had to take out a D tier character out to have a slot to lower an S tier character. I think every individual should have had the chance to make 2 switches instead of 1, so they can take out a B tier character first to D, and then make room for an S character or whatever.

True but very few characters were outright banned for their bs. Kokonoe was banned on release for her black hole unblockable. You had one shot to beat her. If you wasted your burst and got caught again it was curtains. Ivan ooze should have been triple s tier lol

As someone who has played Power Rangers Fighting Edition, I would have put Ivan Ooze in S Tier. He was completely broken in that game; just spam his homing shots and you win every fight.

And what's crazy is thats just one move basically ever other move he has is the best in the game. He also can cancel out of hit stun with his invincible charge up move so you can also just corner then against a wall. Literally you can win with him my being a noob and spamming or know what your doing and completely destroy them. There no character like that in fighting game history. Also he floats so can't be hit, easy and he can just charge up the homing laser well being invincible so you can't even beat him.

Here's some other broken characters: Justice - GGX. Gold Sol Bad-Guy - GGX (If they can hold forward and press HS it's a wrap). Rugal - KOF. Saisyu Kusanagi - KOF. Mr. Karate - KOF XIII.

It's necessary to be specific about the Rugal version. He has different versions of his normal form and different versions of his transformed forms, like Omega in KOF and God in CvS2.

Steve is bottom of d tier he isn't even the most broken smash character he is definitely eclipsed by brawl Meta Knight. Meta Knight was so broken that he couldn't be banned because the community waited too long to try to ban him so the few tournaments that did implement a ban ended up with some crazy dips in turnouts because almost everyone used this character.

Steve is by far one of the weakest of the list. I don't think he's even the most OP Ultimate character, considering all balance patches, and no Ultimate character is 64 Pikachu, Melee Fox, Brawl MK or Sm4sh Bayonetta level

Seeing Ukyo in D I was like "Surely there'll be a Samsho player who'll put him back up from SS2 trauma". For those who don't know Ukyo has a 3f (from TK, because no jump startup) move called Tubame Gaeshi. It's an overhead, and it knock down. It's also disjointed and fires a projectile at one of 3 angles covering the whole screen which also knocks down . In Samsho many things are very easily punishable by a 3f. He also has great pokes and can use Tsubame Gaeshi from his backdash. There are many other reasons why he is stupid but this sould begin to paint a picture of how insane he is. To top it all of he's insanely lame since even though he has mix, footsies, everything (even great lows !), it's a strong gameplan to just chip to timeout with the projectile from tsubame.

My first experience with hearing about Ivan Ooze was with some interview with keits like 12 years ago or something. He was asked who the most broken fighting game character was and with zero hesitation almost interrupting the interviewer said "Ivan Ooze"

MKX Tanya iirc had 2 hits of armor on her teleport plus invincibility. Probably the best mobility in the game , pressure for days , really good chip damage. Good overall damage.

Vergil needed to stay in S tier. He was in a lot of MVC3 teams and his ability to solo a full team was absolutely bonkers. Not even that, good assists, and some amazing setups. Same with Zero, both of those characters are menaces.

Oh yeah, the decently safe EX DP, full invulnerable, had a hitbox behind, 4 frame startup, that juggled and had low scaling. And don't make me start with its emergency slide! Ladronen they call it in latam, meaning something like Kh-robber-n. Btw, can someone upload this on tier list maker?

I think any tourny banned character should be S tier instantly. Blanka, Sagat, Evil Ryu, Yang, Ken, Rose, Chun Li 3S, Luke weren't mechanicly busted, just very dominant but didn't instant win (Could've placed low). Morrigan, Magneto, Storm, was busted but still required a specialist player/Skill.(everybody couldn't play them) Abigail, Elena, Leeroy, Tanya were legit too strong, anyone can play these Characters and be great at their peak. I wish he would have put Alpha 3 Dhalsim or SF EX2 V. Rosso on here
