Robbert's channels is also what came to mind for me, would be an absolute dream combination if these two channels made a film about historic racing together. Think about this video but with better quality incar (especially the audio).

Several armchair comments, if I may (i have done the race 7 times). It is a long race and it is all about reliability. Pre-race testing on full tanks two weeks before to get rid of many gremlins (not necessarily at Francorchamps as Snetterton would be fine. I know that I ma stating the obvious! This is possible why a well prepared, well driven Lotus Elan beat 19/20 "GT40s" to finish second (well done JRC) and two Elans were also in the top 8 out of 90+ starters. So the type of car you called a back marker is in fact the biggest single danger to GT40s...;especially if it rains. Your driving style is reliable (unlike some of those in GT40s and big V8s) and I think most people would see you as a probable future winner as having the knack to capture the spirit of the event on film. BTW, if you would like another historic endurance challenge, look up the 1000km historic race on the Nordschleife...
@BrundleBTW Жыл бұрын
so we do do a little test beforehand, but it should probably be longer. 1000km Nordschleife is on the list!

Great film, Alex. One point of clarification. There is a classic race that runs for the full 24H without interruption - the VdeV Deux Tours d'Horloge at Paul Ricard in November. Come join us there in 2024. See you on the Spa6 grid next year.

Such a beautiful video. Even though life circumstances allow me to race only in virtual world, i gotta say, i know that feeling - feeling of "i did everything i could, but alas". It's brutal. However, i also know there's always another chance to win - as long as you keep on trying and keep on pushing, it's not over. "Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more". Keep up the good work, Alex!

I'd be tempted to forego earplugs for that engine... until I heard the brakes, at which point I'd put them back in and leave them in! Yikes. Anyway, some very cool bits of racing in this, brilliantly put together. Shame about the fuel issue! It'll make the eventual win all the sweeter one day, though ;-)

I took a big breath & held it when the orange car got sideways in Les Combes & started going across your bows, you must have had a bit of a clench there... hurrah for vintage cars & their ability to come back from that sort of thing. What caused the issue? if someone bumped you it's racing & you know it, if it just failed then flip the coin between bad luck & needing even more money :P The onboard footage was absolute magic, astonishing - come on, you got to be in that at least!

So the breather of the left-hand tank Jammed open ... which is mostly bad luck, we do need to spend more money on it (sadly) but it's pretty excruciating now!!!

Brain dump (with a fair bit of Sim-Racing content) 1. 2. 3. If Jacob 'GPLaps' ever does another Historic Sports Car Endurance Sim-Racing series you should at least do a 'Reaction' video, if not join in the fun. 4. Joint Real-Sim 24 hour event? If you can't do 24hrs for real at Le Mans, why not do as much of that as possible and then add the rest on the pixels? Decided on aggregate time, same car in Sim as on track, 2x Real, 2x Sim drivers (or similar). Doesn't even have to have more than just yourself, your car (in a real event) and some chosen colleagues to be a Grand Adventure. One joy would be that if the car on track has a problem or the Sim-Car crashes out there is still the other part of the race to be done. 5. Bring back Brooklands-style Endurance? That used to be 2x12hr, so the good burghers of Byfleet could get some sleep. Car problem on day one didn't necessarily mean the end of the race. If it is felt that Historic cars shouldn't run for more than, say, 4 hours at a time, stage races might be the way to go. 6. One day, British Sim Racing Drivers Club? Based in a shed out the back at Silverstone?
