Our folks retired on two cattle ranches in Oregon with 6000 acres & a 300 head cow calf operation. My father grew up on a farm & loved it. Intermittent Vegan here, I say I aim vegan and sometimes I don't. Allergic to shellfish, and crickets are arthropods, so big no on that. Ive been trying impossible burgers lately, I was given some free. They are soy free, which I also avoid as it's high in estrogen and it's destroying hormones everywhere. I regard soy as an invasive species. On that note real meat, beef, pork, and chickens, I don't know about turkey but I assume, most ag, is fed soy. We eat what they eat. And too much estrogen makes low progesterone before my lady time feel like death, so they can stick soy where the sun don't shine. So the impossible burgers are soy free, at least this brand I was given or I wouldn't have tried them. But many kinds of plant based fake meat is all soy of some kind, with inflammatory oils. They cook, smell, and taste like meat, even bleed something a little, to its a bit gross, but looks like real meat. They taste good. But its later thats the problem. Next day I don't feel great, and it gives me acne. I regard it as junk food, and aim to not eat that anymore either. But the stuff that they do to meat.... Its like they're processed food before they even die! Then the stuff after? No to both. Its a super hard change, and I struggle and fail fairly often, but its such bad food either way I have to go veg.

That is the key. The rest of the world has cheap labor and costs. One of the arguable reasons is because we can print dollars. Making ourselves a consumer only economy. My heart is broken for what you and the rest of your kind are going through. Farmers and Ranchers are the heart and lifeblood of any Nation. I see the Dutch, German and other European Farmers fighting for their (and our) lives also. I was raised in Northern Nevada and spent a lot of my youth on working ranches. I have been on cattle drives and danced with calves during brandings. I’ve eaten Rocky Mountain Oysters and been up before dawn to do feed and water before catching a school bus for the 40 mile ride into town. My Dad also hauled hay and I learned the rules of the road from a Trucker’s perspective. There is evil in our governing bodies, people with no character or soul have made their way into positions of power and have brought the quote “Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely” into clear focus. They have no awareness that governmental bodies are meant to “serve” not rule. I wish I knew how to fix this today, it appears that we have let it go too far. Yet I have hope. There are more and more people asking, “What can we do to change this?”, and that is a good place to begin. I am praying for a change with the upcoming elections, an awareness of who the candidates themselves are, looking into their actions to see what they have lived, rather than what they are saying. I find myself terrified of any democrat at this point but many republicans are just as bad. The duopoly has made it nearly impossible for any other party candidate to be elected. We have all been lied to so much and it is easy to see that they don’t care anymore about their lies being found out. More public figures are sounding the alarm, getting the word out about what is happening. More people are becoming aware of just how much propaganda we have been subjected to. We are actively and collectively finding ways to come together to find solutions. I pray we can find a way before the WEF, monster Gates, and their minions or masters destroy any more people with their completely insane, utopian, genocidal ideas. Please keep hope in your heart. We need YOU. Thank you for sharing and keep up the Good work! 🙏❤️🙏

Thank you too 😊, ever heard the term don't bite the hand that feeds you.. big farms are making things harder for smaller farms but I'd rather have healthy happy animals as food from the old school farms instead of the big corporate ones. I don't ever just look at the meat and not think about the work put into it .

I just love how they stamp "100% Angus Beef". I don't raise cattle. but a good friend of mine does and when he told me the powers that be decided if the beef has 10% or less of Angus beef they can say it's 100%. Also he enlightened me to the fact that there's isn't enough Angus cattle on this planet to meet demands like that.
@brentjohnson92102 жыл бұрын
Also angus beef is not exclusive. Black cattle don’t taste any better than red and white cattle fed the same way. Breeds do have different feed conversion characteristics and carcass characteristics but other British breeds are very similar or better in ways to Angus and hybrid breed crosses are also just as good. Marketing of “Angus” beef was always just hype and the fact it has been diluted now is actually going to be detrimental to consumer confidence. It should be let to die quietly and focus should be on on the healthy pure food that all beef is. The market issues are real but realize that demonizing beef from outside US casts a shade on beef in general. Free market rewards the most efficient production methods. But free market will eat itself until there is no freedom left. The checks and balances on that destruction need to be placed carefully. Government regulation on meat packing has become less about food safety and much more about limiting competition. That is where we need to look to solve this issue.

Well they did this to the dairy farmers long ago. We have almost no smaller dairies within a hundred miles of us. When deans shut down the few that were left couldn’t find any one to buy their milk because of smaller amounts to be hauled. The last dairy farmer I talked to a couple years back dumped his milk for over a month trying to find someone to take it before he gave in and sold the herd. Where I grew up in Minnesota and worked my grandmothers dairy farm every neighbor had a barn full of milking cows back in the sixties and seventies but now days you can drive for hours and never see any livestock only crop farmers. Most farmers now days don’t even own the farms or machinery the banks do. Who controls the banks big business and soon the ones with the money will control all the crops acreage too until they can shut down the few that own anything.

Walmart put up their own plant in Fort Wayne, cuts out a lot of shipping, as a lot of milk going into Sharpsville was out of the dairies along i65. They also only want to buy raw milk by the truckload, it costs them a few cents to print a check, so they only want to print one. They also have to test milk from each pickup, so that's one sample per truck instead of 8 or 10. A lot of Dean's business was making product under contract to walmart. Some producers got together to build a beef processing plant in North Platte. Now walmart wants in on it, too. It will be about a mile, maybe 2, from their warehouse.

Deans bought out two big dairies here in the Alabama/Georgia/Tennessee area, and shut them down. It's enough to make a grown man cry. These ratbastards are trying to kill us all. If it wasn't for Jesus, they would have a real fight on their hands. So far, God is telling me to stay out of it. Vengeance is His.

@@scoutmaster33 We also farrowed and raised feeder pigs also. Not on a big scale but had three sets of six sows and usually sold 50 to 60 fat feeders at a time from them. Also had chickens, 40 sheep to keep yard mowed and grew 20 acres of sweet corn and 20 acres of peas for birdseye in Waseca. Raised corn, wheat, oats and alfalfa for the live stock and soy beans to sell. Those were the pre round up ready and we walked that 20 acres twice a year to pull the weeds. We as kids never got in trouble because we only knew work. Still I wouldn’t of wanted it any other way as a young one.

Have run into the same problem with the lamb industry (what effects you effects us). In fall 2002, they had brought in so much Australian lamb, that our local lamb pool was down to 42cents a lb , we held on for a little better sale. Then they had hoof and mouth in England, then droughts in Australia, that brought our prices up. Then people came in from the Middle East, that helped our market a bunch. Country of Origin Labeling sure would have helped back in 2002 , it's only fair to the customer to know where it came from, then they can check the price and decide. As lamb growers, we only have two major packing houses that set the prices, quite a bit of it doesn't make it to the packing houses though. These days, the Cowboys and the Shepherds are in it together, or we won't survive.

I appreciate what you guys do - it's not an easy lifestyle. I also appreciate bringing this to my attention.

@J RA ... Much of the meat comes from 'all over the place'. Don't be fooled by the sticker that says USDA. Just because the US Department of Agriculture has a sticker does not mean it's beef raised in our great United States. I have to say though that some of the outside sources are okay as they have strict standards as we do but some of the places I would not eat a cracker from. As far as the grocers in our country the one I would not trust for either produce or meat products including beef pork and chicken is Wally World. They buy and accept many items that other people would reject
