The “it’s better to have a prospect with no habits than bad habits” is so on point considering Gabe Davis had one of the worst catching fundamentals I’ve ever seen for an NFL WR. Good for him for earning a 2nd NFL contract worth tens of millions. He found a way to be successful in the NFL but he could have drastically reduced his drops if his fundamentals were better.

I agree that the Bills have put themselves in a situation where they need a “flier” to pan out. But the players they have to take a flier on include three second round picks (Hamler, Isabella, Claypool), two fifth round picks (Shorter, Cephus), and a guy who was on the practice squad all last year (Shavers). The likelihood that one of them steps up and offers acceptable WR4/5 play is pretty high.

I posed this question in another forum, but what if the Bills O is going to run through Shakir, Dalton, & Cook. It worked the second half of the season and into the Playoffs. Everyone wants a No.1, but iColeman may have been brought in for what he actually does well. He beats the shit out of defenders in the run game and he has hands like glue. Clay is another big body and why not give him an invite to camp.

I’ll be surprised if Claypool makes the team because he’s battling for a roster spot with Mack Hollins who has had more recent success than him and Justin Shorter who was a guy the Bills handpicked. Plus, after this Diggs fiasco, Buffalo has heavily prioritized character (I mean just look at this recent draft, they’re all great people) and Claypool isn’t exactly thought of as a great locker room guy.

Everyone that thinks samuel is meh is forgetting that Josh Allen turned john brown into a borderline no 1. Its definitely one of the weaker receiver rooms in the Allen era but overall weapons wise its not when you add in kincade, knox and cook you dont need an all world receiver room

Wish they had also taken a flier on Mekhi Becton. The 11th overall pick in the 1st round 4 years ago for the Jets. 6’ 7”, 360 lb freak athlete and very long arms. He’s potentially the best guard in the NFL. He was injured a lot and didn’t play very well at OT but as a guard, he’s a massive, powerful, mean athletic guy. He makes other linemen look ordinary in stature.

You just have to be confident Josh will elevate them as high as possible now that he has the freedom to open the field without Diggs. Yes, Bills receiver room is looking like bottom 3rd or 5th in the league on paper right now but I also think the ball will be spread out more. Last year 3 of the last 4 teams had mediocre receiving corps (KC, Baltimore,Detroit). It’s like the Chicago Bulls of the 90’s when you have a Jordan everyone else is plug and play Allen is our Jordan. Draft was good , infusion of youth is nice but it’s not like we drafted 10 probowlers…if we catch lightning in a bottle we may have a few really good players but there is also a chance none of them pan out so I won’t put the cart before the horse. Am I the only one put off a little by the somewhat overplayed immaturity of Coleman or was the media just giving him too much attention? Guess he will be entertaining but we need football players not someone to put on their own postgame show every week this season. Hoping leaders on the team take him under their wing and help him mature. It will be interesting to see this new era of Patriots football play out. Jets- Don’t think Rodger’s has much left -and like you said Miami scares no one in December.

Claypool has elite potential, but hes a headcase and that has been holding him back. A good coach could probably rehab him - do the bills have that, i don't know but considering the state of the bills receivers group, its worth a shot. The guy is still pretty young and people in thier early to mid 20s can still change plus hes got to know this is his last shot to stay in the nfl. If he gets his shit together this dude could be the elite receiver the bills need, its a good signing because of that potential. The problem with all of beanes moves at this position is that they were all scratch off tickets none of them are sure fire hits so they need some of these scratch off tickets to be winners or the passing game is going to struggle and the dummies are going to blame allen and this team will implode. I think they really needed to sign one established reliable receiver so all the young potential guys would have less pressure on them to develop and produce.

It was the beating the Bills took at the hands of the Bengals in the 2022 season playoffs that caused everyone to doubt the Bills in 2023. The reason for the doubt this year is because the Internet doesn't know the Bills and they saw Diggs, White, Poyer, Hyde, Morse, (5 Pro-bowlers) all gone from the Bills, so there is doubt.

Lots of fans are overestimating the Dolphins WR room. We regularly keep Tyreek in check, (in check being a relative term), and Waddle seems to be developing durability issues.

The Dolphins were 2nd in passing yards last season (4,698- 2 yards behind Minnesota) and 2nd in yards per attempt (8.3) They are an EXPLOSIVE offensive.... until December. That's what I said on the pod. They are loaded with talent with an elite system with presnap motion I envy. I’d rather have Chase than OBJ. If Chase doesn’t work out, nothing lost ($25k). It’s a veteran minimum prove it deal. If it works out, you have a young hungry stud athlete with most of his career still ahead of him and probably resigns for a conservative contract extension. And Chase did have two good years with marginal QB play. He’s got upside and has shown he can play at this level. Chase Claypool - 1 year, $1.125M which is a vet minimum deal. $25K signing bonus and another $75K bonus if he makes the 53-man roster.

There is no WR on this team nor Kincaid that brings fear to defenses. This could prove a huge problem with the lack of a stud WR and if Allen was enough this team would have already gotten past KC in the playoffs, especially last year.

Claypool is a great signing, with no risk for the Bills. Contrary to what Dan says, he *is* a good football player. There's a reason he was drafted in the 2nd round. The problem is that his attitude and work ethic has sucked, which is probably the reason that such a great athlete wasn't drafted in the 1st round. Yes, there are legitimate questions about whether he's a culture fit, but if he has come to his senses and wants to put in the work to revive his career, then he has come to the right locker room. If he doesn't pan out, we cut him and move on. Either way we can't lose. Interesting as well that we continue to add size at WR and currently have probably one of the biggest (in terms of height and weight) WR rooms in the league now.

Chase claypool isn’t a great college prospect that tuned into a shitty pro. He was awesome in his first 2 years in the league. He is a 25 year old 6’4 235lbs deep threat with 4.42 speed. This is a fucking low risk potential home run type of deal. He is exactly what the bills need
