Right from the kick off you could see the passing out from the back wasn’t working. It was just a matter of time before the mistakes would cost us. Very disappointed with the manager’s decisions this game. Why play nearly the entire ‘B’ team and then only make one substitution?

The obvious solution would have been to change it round at half-time. An injection of 3 players could have made all the difference. What was the point of bringing Cole Palmer to Newcastle when there was no intention to play him? The architect of this loss was Maresca. Jose Mourinho would rather die than be defeated - that is the benchmark. Being undefeated is a culture.

Wise words but that is not Maresca's view...he'll be looking to the players to improve in the way *he* wants them to play. Probably means he'll replace Disasi and BADiashile. I personally won't she'd any tears there.

Badasshite , Disaster Disasi and Sanchez should be sold and when we constantly give the ball away when playing out from the back was terrible , I agree with your comments 💯, why did we we take three goalkeepers and no Sancho or Gusto we should have made subs at the start of the second half , why not play some of our academy kids a least they would have tried to win and impress

Truth? He didn't care whether we won or lost the tie. Clearly, the League Cup is/was a very low priority. His mind was on Man Utd, and in reducing the number of games overall.

Game served on a silver platter. 25 - 35 mins of defending misery. Incapable of bypassing Newcastle's energetic, high press work rate. Some players looked lost on the field, unsure where to be or what to do. Not much done to relieve the pressure. Capitulated!

I don't understand the double standard of Chelsea fans towards managers. Poch got us to the final and lost to Liverpool in a game we were the better team, also got us to the semi final of the fa cup and lost to city, yet he got a lot of hate as a chelsea manager. His options for first team selection were only 14 15 players for most of the season, and he was forced to have disasi and badiashile as his main center back options for most of the season. What fans call the B TEAM this season has more talent and power than the last season's 1st team This loss to Newcastle is what would have made the fans destroy Poch last season, yet some fans even praise Maresca for this loss because our overall games in the season will be less!!! Am I missing something?! Or am I the only one who hasn't jumped on the Maresca hype train?!

We are not the finished article..still room for improvement...Our scouting program needs to improve...we could have 5 or 6 players on 7 year contracts that we can't move on..???
