David Silva had 10 seasons in the prem, in the first team and never had an off-season. Kept himself to himself, never negative press or interviews. Just pure beautiful football. 10 years without ever dropping form for me is top 5. I feel like these lists suffer from looking at the past with rose tinted glasses. Silva was world class.

Kante is awesome but just didn’t have the aura of Fernandinho.. ferna is just also my favourite type of player that can just effortlessly switch between 25 yard screamers, 30 yard switches and then towards the end of a game geniously break up play with clever interceptions tackles and my favourite part, awesome professional fouls. It's just disrespectful to even suggest such. What is the point of the competition if not to show who is the best? You can be the heartbeat of the best team in the land for 2 decades, but be seen as lower than a player in a team that never won it. Obviously there is leeway for exceptional players, but this is way too far. Kante carried Leicester to a title in his first season (a team that nearly got relegated the previous season), but I'm supposed to believe Gerrard was some tortured soul who simply couldn't win with paupers like Alonso, Reina, Carragher, Torres, Mascherano etc.
