The Chenab Bridge in J&K, the world's highest rail bridge, stands 359 meters above the Chenab River, 35 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower. This 1.315 km long arch bridge, costing ₹14,000 crore, connects Bakkal and Kauri in Reasi district. It withstands 8-magnitude earthquakes and high-intensity blasts, allowing trains to cruise at 100 kmph. The bridge is part of an ambitious plan to enhance connectivity between Kashmir and the rest of India, making it a monumental civil engineering achievement by Indian Railways.
