And that's why I hope rice for once. A chief player challenges the suspension. You can actually do that now. That can't postpone your punishment so you can play while you appeal. Players have used this in the past on non. Serious suspension charges as long as you're not in the NFL's exempt list, which you have to actually make a bar to be put on that list, then you can play even if they give you suspension, you can challenge it in court. I was hoping a mini hue last year were challenged it.Because except games kind of sound of the little extreme To me, I mean, Tom Brady was the best one at this. Remember to flight gate. He was apparently supposed to have a 4 to 6 games suspension, but he challenged it and he kept playing that year he was able to actually postpone it all the way. I think until the playoffs and then he had to do the suspension. The year after see, that's what I kind of hope happens here. The chase won't get a third Super Bowl. They don't care if he's suspended, but not this year next year.

A mistake is shoplifting, cheating at something, lying to someone, walking away from a fender bender. trying seriously dangerous drugs at your house in private or failing the leagues drug test. What rice did was not that. This is not a “glass houses” situation. If Rice, who is supposed to be a grown man, had been in a crowded city park shooting randomly at bushes trees and trash cans and accidentally injured 5-6 people but with “no intent to harm” it wouldn’t matter. This is a very similar kind of reckless disregard for other human lives. We are talking about murderously reckless conduct with machinery that can kill as much as any AK47. Would you still be comparing it to your own mistakes? His intent and personal embarrassment are irrelevant. Hes clearly reached manhood but still possess the moral compass of a three year old. His family failed to help him, now society needs to do it. It’s not vindictive or hateful to force him to swallow consequences of lethal (yes nobody was killed but that makes little difference). He needs to be out for a year, and face house arrest confinement. You’re not helping the child become a man by letting him slide because you have made mistakes in your own life. That’s bullshit and cruel to let him miss the opportunity to face hard facts.

This guy is talking about the difference between municipal code and the State of Texas statutes. When I first heard the charges my initial reaction was the prosecution is overreaching. Remember the prosecution has the burden of proof in prosecuting these charges and because they have chosen to make them felonies there is a higher bar in proving them. Right now I have to believe that Royce West will take advantage of the preliminary hearing process to have these charges dismissed altogether. Most people waive this proceeding because of the actual events that led to be charged. There's no dispute that a crime was committed. The dispute in this matter is the type of crime. For example the media has portrayed them as racing which gives rise to intent. But were they racing or were they following one another when a vehicle lost control causing everyone in their vicinity to lose control..there's a big difference between a speeding infraction and what the prosecution alleges. For me the focus is on leaving the scene of an accident. Does this automatically become a felony, that's the question. If it doesn't than I would say the prosecution doesn't really have a case whatsoever. Its mere postering and false bravado. Scare tactics and intimidation. Now having said that it in no way dismisses Rices actions and I feel like his driving privileges should be revoked for no less than a year.

The prosecution did not charge anyone, leaving the scene, though not even the drivers that charges would lift out and from what I've known. It's a misdemeanor if you're leave the accident without injury. But if there is a major injury, it can be a felony so with this, they probably can charge them if they're considering that cut above the eye. But again, it's probably a higher bar than Peru because of the wording and the law. So they just went with crossing. With serious injury because it's probably a lower bar to get

In a preliminary hearing the city of Dallas will have to prove that his crime is an actionable offense within the criteria as set forth in the municipal code he has been charged with. If the Dallas prosecutor cannot do this the judge will dismiss the charges that are challenged. This would be a case of the prosecution choosing incorrectly how to pursue justice. In a sense they are gambling. Royse west will tell them this before it ever gets to this point. Then the Dallas prosecuting attorneys office will voluntarily file a dismissal of these charges and refile the correct misdemeanor charges which Rice will plead guilty to. This is the plea bargaining process.

The legal expert can give information on the legal concequences and situations Rice could face, but NFL policy is incredibly inconsistent and is not the law. What happen to Rice was an accident. Stupid decision, but he didn't leave his house to start trouble, he wasn't at a bar and get into a fight (make decision to hurt someone), he didn't beat up his girlfriend. Steal from or vandalism someone on purpose. He was racing a car lost control.. and didn't handle things right.. On top of getting the shit scared out of him- I've lost control of a car going at a high speed, for a couple of seconds (which seem like forever) you think you going to or might die. Then you literally realize.. I came damn close to dying! It will put you in a small case of shock.. Then realizing you wrecked a 250,000 car that wasn't yours. Your scared and your freaking head is spinning.. I can understand why someone might make wrong decision. I NOT saying it makes anything OK.. Wrong is Wrong.. But don't think it makes him a BAD person.. He will pay financially, do community service, lose his license and get suspended 6 games.

Thats the only difference here. Cut this kid some slack. Hes going to turn out wiser than his peers because of this....I did. Anybody God wants to make strong, he shreds thoroughly. Seriously he walked away from creating bodily injury to others while drag racing. He deserves hefty fines and probation, jail time possibly. Seeing the walking away with his buddies no care to what they created by drag racing. 6 to 8 game suspension is good. I'm a chiefs fan, he rashee isn't the one who make the chiefs go round and round.
