The problem is that alot of people think the media bias is deliberate and things are "rigged", when the truth is much more benign.. it's just human nature. The Chiefs had the bias because Mahomes was the shiny NFL darling, but now he's won a little too much to be truly universally likeable, so the bias is ready to shift at any opportunity. This season the Bills just happen to "fit the bill" as the team that will knock KC off the perch, so they get the positive spin. Also Josh Allen now fits much better into the media darling role, because he keeps playing well but still losing, so we can all feel sorry for him. Dropped passes, missed FG and dubious calls by the coaching staff prevented Rich from being right on his Bills' pick over KC. " Wide right" could become a favorite phrase in KC for weeks to come.

The 13 second/OT game was what made this rivalry legendary, but this game was the one that put it to bed. Such a back breaking loss for Buffalo. You could make arguments for the Bills leading into this game, such as: * Buffalo having owned Kansas City in the regular season in the Mahomes/Allen era. * The first playoff game in the 2020 season was for the AFC title, pretty impressive in itself * The second playoff game against the Chiefs in the 2021 season was arguably the greatest game ever, where the Bills lost because they never got a chance with the ball in OT. All things to hang their hat on, and not be terribly disappointed with, but this was different. This time they were at home, they were favored, their offense was firing on all cylinders, the Chiefs were in a down-year, annnnd it still wasn't enough.. This was the time, this was the time for Buffalo to get the monkey off their back, and finally get one over on their older sibling when it mattered most, and they didn't get it done.. Kansas City even did all they could to give Buffalo a chance to win. Everyone talks about how efficient the Chiefs offense was, but to me it still left much to be desired. Mecole Hardman's endzone fumble, and Safety Chamarri Conner being greedy, and trying to return a Buffalo fumble rather than just fall on the ball, and secure it kept the Bills in this game FAR longer than they should have been. And Buffalo still couldn't capitalize..

The switch you're referring to flipped midway through the second quarter of week 17 against the Bengals. Chris Jones gave a speech on the sidelines, the defense destroyed and then the offense followed suit. As life long fans we saw it happen real time and literally texted our friends "They're back..."

Everyone forgets that the Bills and Colts are the two teams that regularly knocked the Chiefs out of the playoffs for decades. There is a stretch from 1971 until 2013, the Chiefs went 3-10 in the playoffs. The Bills, Dolphins, and Colts account for nearly all of them. If Mahomes beats the top two seeds in the AFC, on the road, it should end this narrative of this being an "off year" for the Chiefs. Nice of the oddsmakers to make us underdogs, we needed some bulletin board material.

Rich is Rich, at least he's not Skippy Bayless or the like. At least he's great now at eating a big mouthful of humble pie after another pick of knowing better. It was entertaining when he took great pride in hooking up the Fonz with Mahomes. He has Eric Stonestreet, Rob Riggle and many other big KC folks on his show fairly often. Many people are still learning, just don't count out KC when 15 is at QB, esp while healthy for once.
@gregjohnson72708 ай бұрын
I LOVED how you presented the story and you nailed it, the Chiefs somehow ran over the Ravens in Baltimore and then won their second Super Bowl in a row over I thought a superior 49ers team. I aagree that we are witnessing something special and I just saw a clip this week describing how Bret Veach noticed Mahomes in his first year as a starter at Texas Tech and he told Andy Reid, we need to get this guy, he's special. And he apparently had meetups with Mahomes telling him about the organization and how he would be a perfect fit. SO the Chiefs gave up a boatload of pics to move up to the 10th spot in the 2017 draft and they are now performing on a different level and may continue doing so for years to come. Time will tell.

Unfortunately, McDermott got Beane the GM gig with the Bills, so I doubt that McDermott is shown the door. But Beane needs to be the GM and do what he thinks has to be done to improve this team and not worry about what McDermott thinks, which includes canning the DL coach and ST coach. It is time for a mini-rebuild (it was after last season, too) as this current team is clearly not good enough to win a SB - no further evidence is needed.

The Ravens haven't just been beating good teams all year, they have been killing them.

@@nonya6022 They did the same is 2019 (14-2 and 1 seed ironically) (Lamar also won MVP). And chiefs beat them in Baltimore that year too. Mahomes isn't any of these other QBs.
