Amid the Houthis’ attacks on ships in the Red Sea to protest Israel’s war on Gaza, political analysts note that China has been largely silent about opposing the Iran-backed Yemeni rebels. Though China has been hurt by global trade disruptions, and suffered a strike on a Chinese oil tanker in March 2024, experts say that Beijing remains reluctant to join the US-led coalition to curb attacks.

China does most of the shipping across the Red Sea. Do you not know China's heavy involvement in the maritime trade? It's like 90% of commentators like you here didnt even watch the video and just came here to comment

@@ZX235w3 China is heavily involved in international trade, but is not involved in the chaos created by the US and its allies, including in the Red Sea. The chaos in the Red Sea is entirely part of the work of Western countries. Therefore, China has no reason to get involved in what is happening, especially militarily, even though China continues to speak out and strive for peace. What's strange is that you are trying to blame China for not wanting to get involved militarily against the Houthis, even though you know the root of the problem lies with the US and its allies who always position themselves as police, prosecutors and at the same time as judges. You must have seen that the US and its western allies are the ones who most often reject UN resolutions for a ceasefire and efforts to bring about peace.

@@alexau00 Are you stupid or what? China needs to be there to protect their interests, that doesn't mean they have to get involved in the conflict. When the conflict occurred in Sudan in 2023, the Chinese navy was also present in the Red Sea, not to get involved in the conflict, but to protect and evacuate their people. If you can't tell the difference, I feel sorry for you.

Chinese cargo ships passing through the Red Sea receive discounts on insurance premiums, while American and British ships are more expensive or even not insured A report on the 7th quoted relevant practitioners as saying that due to the impact of the Red Sea conflict, the shipping insurance market is being graded. Underwriters differentiate between the carriers they insure, and premiums for Chinese cargo ships are more favorable. Chinese ships sailing in the Red Sea can obtain shipping insurance discounts below the market price, while related ships in the United States, Britain and Israel need to pay higher insurance premiums, and are even directly excluded from coverage by many insurance companies.

The United States voted against the anti-Israeli resolution, as did Germany, Argentina, Paraguay, Bulgaria and Malawi. The United Nations Human Rights Council passed a resolution on April 5 calling on all countries to stop selling, transferring and transferring weapons to Israel. Among the 47 member states of the Council, 28 voted in favor, 6 voted against, and 13 abstained, and the resolution was passed.
