While he says Brass and Stainless are interchangeable, I can't get the stainless garden hose plug to click-connect onto the garden hose spigot disconnect. There's not enough space at the end of the plug on the male end to allow the ball bearing detents to go back into the "sealed" position when the brass part is hand-tightened to the spigot end. I've got a hose with stainless fittings, but my spigot is brass, which is why I'd wanted to use both.

Do the brass coupler and stainless plug properly connect when disconnected from the spigot?
@danielestabrook9531 Жыл бұрын
@@PoweredbyVeloci Yes. I can properly connect them and then attach to the spigot, but then I can't getk the disconnect to release. It may have to do with the backflow preventer, but it's a fitting marked 1011 B64.2 125PSI 180°F Indonesia LVB 3/4" AW (unclear) 1011 UPC SA. Any backflow preventers that are known to work well with these? I tried the stainless disconnect you all sell as well and it has the same problem.

Sounds like an issue with compatibility with the back flow preventer. Please call our customer support for more detailed assistance 866.686.4020

Great video and explanation. Can you tell us if Stainless is also lighter? That would be another benefit of us buying your SS fitting over the Brass ones.
@PoweredbyVeloci Жыл бұрын
Stainless steel is generally about 10% lighter than Brass.

Can you also compare Zinc Alloy vs Brass? And ABS Plastic vs Brass? @veloci
@PoweredbyVeloci2 жыл бұрын
While very inexpensive, Zinc Alloy is rated lowest amongst the three metals and corrodes the fastest. ABS Plastic is usually only a component to metal (brass/stainless) fittings. Plastic would not be able to hold up to the high pressures of pressure washing. ABS plastic, while durable to impact, is susceptible to cracking due to temperature changes.

Can you mix Brass and Stainless fittings with no real negative effects?
@PoweredbyVeloci2 жыл бұрын
Practically speaking yes, brass and stainless can be mixed. You may see galvanic corrosion but it would take a lot of time in contact for it to happen.
