Peniche has a resident population of 27,753 inhabitants, 48.4% male and 51.6% female.
Localization.
Located in the western sub-region, in the province of Estremadura, and in the Central region of Portugal, Peniche is a Portuguese city in the district of Leiria.
The municipality is limited to the west by Óbidos and the rest by the Atlantic Ocean, so it has extensive beaches.
How to get to Peniche
By car from Lisbon the journey takes 1 h 13 min (102 km) via the A8. From Porto it is a little further away, about 2h 30 min (260 km).
By bus from Lisbon (seven rivers) the trip takes 1h 35m and costs €9.00.
