Once I left my hometown my mental health and outlook started to improve. Everyone was saying "aren't you scared of leaving? You won't know anyone out there!" I was like "yeah, that's the point" nobody knows you or your past and they can't judge you based off your past failures and shortcomings!

Truth man...I left my hometown to go to high school in another state. I was successful in the things I pursued. Once I returned to my hometown after graduation, everyone and I literally mean everyone was sucking the life out of me by running their mouth about who I am as a person not realizing that I changed in high school. Coworkers slandering me behind my back and everyone wanting my attention. I was constantly on a mental rollercoaster and could never think clearly about what I wanted. We think people are like us while others think we are like them.

And while I was in my hometown I networked myself as best as possible. Being successful and staying in your hometown will just leave you empty. Your own hometown homies will fucking turn on you and you will start seeing their true colors. They want you to do good but not better than them.

That's why I have been thinking about moving out my hometown. For the same reasons. Grew up tired of seeing the same people and the constant fake friends. Those people are no longer apart of my life and it's annoying when my parents ask me about people from MY PAST that I no longer care about because those people never cared about me and wasn't there for me when I was at my lowest

I also lived two undescribable horrible years in my hometown. Then I escaped for six years. Live becomes sustainable. Now I am back since three years. And horror rearrived. But I know slowly who and where they are.

He’s right. I had a lot of abuse in my family. I left at 17. Yes, it was crazy there for a while. Had no guidance, but I was determined. I’m a lot older now and I’ve done so much with my life. I’m finally stable. Now healing from the past, my childhood so I can have a relationship and be the best version of myself. I never really had the time, or money to get help with these things when I was younger.

Luckily I bought a house on the outside of town in a seperate township don't know if that qualifies but not right in town at least. I have a network of unhealed haters on me in town. I was only good to them. I set a boundary and they lost it. They lost me for good.

I lived in the same place from 6-34 years old and while it was a beautiful mountainous place and I have like 2-3 solid actual friends, I also went through a lot of trauma and always felt since I was young that I was not meant to be there and definitely always yearned for diversity. I left after my son graduated high school and he joined the Air Force and I went back after he and his family went back and from day one my spirit was sick. It’s been a year and I’m leaving again. People are always like “Why do you hate it so much? You can’t just run away.” I say, “It’s old ass stale energy and I’m not running away I am choosing to place my soul where my soul feels calm and at peace and not full of daily reminders of my past and anxiety.” My son always encourages me to leave despite wanting to be close to one another. He knows my spirit and I love that so much!

Agree Joel if you feel you have to move, do it as to where your perps/GS's or people who know your face. Make sure you go unseen maybe get a blacked out Cab to get across state if you can do it or how ever you transport yourself. Trust me I know from experience I can be out a certain day next a neighborhood perp sees me from their window then one of them will suddenly get in their car as to tail me or get on the phone to their perp friend. I came back to my hometown. I am gangstalked by the whole community. I am hated hard by 99 percent of the males i come across and im loved by 99 percent of women. I've lived here since 2nd grade. I used to be a social butterfly, i know everyone. Well they knew the old me. They have no clue who i am now. I will be hated by other males anywhere i go. I'm the nicest guy in the world but other males will low key throw shade at me for no fault of my own. They are intimidated and jealous of the vibe i put out. My dad was marine corps and so were my uncle's. I was raised to be tough. Ive had 2 near death experiences and i know its a Miracle im alive. Ive had an attempt on my life. I almost had my foot amputated but God healed it. Praise the Lord!!Ive been through it all. I once fought a special forces guy i knew because I was drunk and I don't back down from anything ( thank God someone split us up he would have killed me.) I was truly saved and Chosen I expose the darkness in people or bring out the worst in people. People see how much im hated on. The young man i work with sees it. I left my hometown a long time ago. And I have no reason to go back there for any reason. I am living in the same state, but I have grown up as a military brat and spent the most time in my life on a small island in the Pacific ocean just south of Japan. And I am looking at moving from where I am now and I am only waiting for a clarification as to where I am going to be moving to and when I have to go. But basically since my grandfather passed away when I was six years old I had to go and live with my mom and stepfather and I was moving to a new place every three to three and a half years and the longest time in one location was the six and a half years living overseas on the same island.

It is sad because I love my home town. It is a perfect place to live in my opinion aside from the culture. Which protestant Christian over and undertones are prevalent. Also in contrast the presence of the American version of "Chavs". Both of which I'm not accepted amongst. You are right Terry. I think perhaps after accumulating some wealth I might come back. They will try and take you down. Much of the dysfunction too is in my family. This is spot on.
