Yup, can't have a conversation with my Dad. He is so out of touch with reality and you literally cannot have a deep conversation with him unless it has to do with $, the only thing he cares about in this world. He just wants a big balance, he doesn't actually use it except to make more $. He has 0 hobbies or interests besides making $. If you aren't talking to him about $, you are wasting his time. Not that $ is a bad thing, but when it is the only thing you care about, including your own family, its kinda sad. He is plugged into the matrix. When he calls its the most annoying thing, cause its like talking to a drill sergeant, no connection with a human being whatsoever due to him. Did you get this done? That done? Doesn't care to hear about your problems or struggles etc, doesn't care to find out how I am doing; realized after relationships with Narc's he set me up to not see it...because he is one. I was raised to not see disrespect or abuse, thanks Dad. At least I see it now. Its almost a 1 way conversation with him, if I talk he just talks over me like a Narc. It's not nice at all,living in a world like this,there are some times of peace from it,sometimes at the gym etc or when I go for a swim but it seems nearly everywhere I go,there is someone who got to spew some negative energy. At the moment I wouldn't say I'm in the best place,recovering from psychological abuse and identity theft by a narcopath but I still try to be friendly and kind,even though I'm in a lot of pain.

One form of that is when meeting distant family or aquaintances you haven't seen in a very long time and they address you in the diminutive form of your name, like they were talking to a 7 year old child, or something, say calling you "Timmy" instead of Tim or "Bobbie" instead of Robert. It's not usually intentional malice, at first, but it's very head up their anus inappropriate when they use such terms talking to a 25 or 35 or 40 year old or older accomplished man. Worse, pretending to know all about you when they don't know ANYTHING of much relevance anymore. That fake f*ck sense of self important familiarity they believe that's just not true. You almost feel like screaming at them saying, "Hey, dumb*ss ! Let me check my watch here - Oh, right, it's the 2020's not 1979 anymore." Once may be a mistake but after you politely corrected them, if they continue, it could still be bad habit but it's also a highly offensive, moronic, conversation and association ender. It's like someone living in a distant past and just won't update their mindset to changed conditions. If they can't talk to you in a reasable tone, and correct terminology, they can just GTF away from you and they, reciprically, don't deserve respect, either. If it continues, you could return by start caling them by the diminutive form of their name. Be short with them. Act like they are so unimportant you didn't hear what they said. Most people will get it. The only forgivable exception might be the advanced age elderly. A person making a sincere error will correct themselves.. Those not using proper future ettiquette should be just writing themselves out of your life. I don't get why this is such a problem for some people. It shouldn't be, but often is.
