March 24, 2011 | Christianity has been growing rapidly in China despite government restrictions. Chinese government policy on Christianity has changed from "suppression" (1949-1966) and "eradication" (1966-1979) to "controlling to weaken" (1979-1995) and "controlling to contain" (1995-2010). The number of Protestant Christians has multiplied from fewer than 1 million in 1949 to 30 to 60 million today. Catholic Christians have persevered as well. In addition to Christians in rural areas, several new categories of urban Christians have emerged, including the so-called "cultural Christians," "boss Christians," transnational Christians, Christian lawyers, and Christian artists. A leading expert on Christianity in China based at Purdue University, Fenggang Yang argued that the fundamental reason for Christianity's growth in China is its perceived compatibility with modernity. During the rapid modernization process, Christian beliefs, rituals, and organizations appear to meet the economic, political, social, and cultural needs of the people. Unless China abandons her endeavor of modernization, he argued, Christianity will continue to thrive in the foreseeable future.
Fenggang Yang is Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center on Religion and Chinese Society (CRCS) at Purdue University. He is also a Commissioned Scholar on China for the Christianity and Freedom Project at the Berkley Center. A leading scholar of religion in China and of immigrant religion in the United States, he is the author of Chinese Christians in America: Conversion, Assimilation, and Adhesive Identities (1999), Asian American Religions: The Making and Remaking of Borders and Boundaries (co-editor 2004), and State, Market, and Religions in Chinese Societies (co-editor, 2005). His Religion in China: Survival and Revival under Communism (Oxford University Press) is forthcoming with Oxford University Press. Yang received his Ph.D. from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

Jesus is the answer!

After being converted by Jesus in 1994. I was immediately convicted to read the " Book of Job ". The conviction was so deep that I could not even sleep until I began reading it. After reading it and noticing some very remarkable things. I asked him if he wanted me to become a " Modern Day Job " for him. He said yes, and so I entered into a covenant with him. I was told to remain silent about it until everything was completed, or I felt that conviction again in my life. This occurred in 2021. Shortly after my wife left me. I have had a heart attack, cancer, and severed three fingers off on a table saw, leaving me with God's number 7 fingers. Fell off a twenty-foot wall (Equal to a two-story building) then struck a 6" x 6" post holding up the wall, on the way down, before hitting the concrete floor. Then lost a huge sum of money personally, and finally, my wife walks away from me. Just before she left, just like a good friend would do for you before you are about to get a devastating blow. Jesus shows up in my home. I didn't even know who it was at the time. All his previous paintings looked nothing like the face that I saw that night. It was the reason I did not know who it was. But like Samuel, Elijah, and many more. I heard his voice that night tell me, I would soon know who this face belonged to, but he gave me no time frame. So several weeks later while surfing youtube I come across this video about this young 8-year-old girl out of the U.S. who had painted this beautiful painting. She masterfully painted it because it looked more like a photograph than a painting. This was the exact face I had seen in my home that night. It was Jesus. I have never seen this video before then. I think Jesus even covered that base for me if the devil came around and said you saw this video before. So what Jesus had done that night in my home. He wore a different color robe, and his face was lit up more. There were no shadows like in the painting. Just shortly after this occurred and just before my wife left me, I get another visitation. Only this time I did not see who it was that showed up. I felt this person this time. They tried to wake me up by nudging my hand in between my first finger and thumb, where the soft web part is located on my left hand. I could feel this fingernail pierce my skin. Like someone who had not cut their fingernails all the way down to the top of their finger. As they tried to wake me up. Well, they sure did wake up and seconds later my wife walks into the room to wake me up. But she looks at me and says, " oh you are up ? ". She generally wakes me up every morning so I can give her a ride to work. This was part of the reason she left me. She thinks I am losing it. But nothing could be further from the truth. I have been in my condo for almost two years now alone. I am fine. I am not even mad at her. She was deceived. The angel visitations have even gotten stronger since she left. They tap on my computer screens when they want me to open a certain video or email. They also tap into other areas of my home to let me know they are around. I first started noticing this several years ago. When I used to notice tappings on my shower glass door. Then it got more frequent in other areas of the home. Sometimes I get taps that are simultaneously conducted because the tappings sometimes come one after another in different areas. Which tells me likely there is more than one. If I were not saved. It would be likely that I would have been spooked by it all. But I feel very comfortable around them. I have asked them questions at times and asked them to respond through tappings. They generally will let me know if they are around. They occur at all the different hours of the day. I am in the process of writing a book on all these encounters. I spend quite a bit of my time telling others so that they will turn to him. I do not want anyone going into hell. So I spend a lot of time telling others about my encounters, and his love for them. I did ask him why others do not see these things. Not that I think I am any better than anyone else. He told me the answer is in the bible. He said you can find it in the Book of Hebrews. He says I reward those who diligently seek me. He reminded me if he did it any other way. It would make him out to be a liar. Which the bible tells us he is not. He said Don you have done the things I asked you to do for me, and you are not afraid to tell others about my name. He also frequently drew this to my attention under the " Prayer of Protection ". Notice verse 15. I will be with him in trouble. He is talking about an individual who is male. He showed me one time how he really protected me. I actually laughed at the way he did it for me. I will be telling it in my book. He is an absolutely remarkable genius. You will see why in the book. Psalm 91 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” I will leave you a copy of the video of the face I saw that night in my home. Which was in this video. Plus I have been working on a website for him for years now. One of the things he wanted me to do was create a Church Directory listing for all denominations. Within that church listing, he wanted me to add a button for church sermons. He wanted that for shut-ins who were not able to attend church. Before then I have never ever built a website in my life. I have had some help in building it. The technology is new. He showed me how he wanted it played out. Plus those who were not that tech-savvy could find it fast and easy. This happened just before the pandemic broke out. I now know why he was preparing me. You see God is always the first. It is why he is the creator. We are just vessels he uses to complete his work. God has also recently placed China in my heart. He has a great love for these people. The angels are directing me in this direction. Billy Graham's wife actually grew up there in a missionary family. China Christian great growing because it is the following the God's ordained way. In Bible, Christian there had no big building for for gathering. The gathering was from house to house. The real meaning of church is "the body of Christ", not a concrete building. The persecution of Christian in China made Christian to avoid mass gathering in one big hall, that force them to unintentionally follow the ancient Lord's ordain way of meeting n minister Church members. A lot of religions are rising in China, not only Christianity. It is a religion revival in general. And other faiths, like Buddhism and Taoism have the support from the state, that Christianity does not have. In Taiwan, Christianity had a huge growth in the past but some years ago started to decline, while Taoism and Buddhism became the main faiths. So it is hard to know the future.
