Dear Adeola, kindly allow me to clarify some things you said... 1. "The gift of the Spirit is without repentance", this is a false teaching. Acts 2:38: then Peter said unto them Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (NKJV). There must be genuine repentance before God can trust you with the gift of the Holy Ghost. 2. God doesn't take his gift back... This is also false teaching. Mathew 25:14 - 30, talks about the parable of the Talents, verse 28 says: Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. (NKJV) verse 29 says "For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. I was laid off as a pastor in a Church after six years of service and am seriously have issues with the one am currently worshiping. Information and critical thinking is so lacking in today's Church that one wonders his Luther in the 15th Century coped and wrote the 95 thesis we all built on today as Protestants. Adeola u are on point,.... this is why BH is running freely amok. the focus of the church has shifted. the church is asleep. the pew and the pulpit are snoring, in the 70s and 80s when the focus was all about salvation, u listen to baba obadare on Sunday TV, from start to finish, it was all about Repentance, following Christ. the church was the conscience of the nation, In those days Maitatsine riots arose, but God quenched it in a matter of 2-3 days. we had relative peace amongst the major religious groups. but now church has become a sanctuary for LOOTERs, and only another Rod of Christ is needed to drive out those who are buying and selling.
