Great software with a very intuitive interface. There is no so many tutorials like maya, 3d Max or blender but the help menu is great for learning any cinema's tool. Also, for simulations/particles, depends too much of others plugin like xparticles, realflow, fumefx ir turbulancefx. I hope this change in the next version.

Most of Cinema 4D's UI tools is an image icon. And artists with the right brain are more dominant in remembering images. If the writing becomes more difficult to remember. That's why it's user friendly... :)

Some users still use cinema4d because of its x particle plugin. That make cinema4d have loyal customer. Maybe they can choose Houdini to make effects same as x particle but time consuming lead them to rent x particle cinema4d

Geometry nodes instances don't interact with physics, force fields or collisions, cannot communicate with particles to query a particle lifetime for instance. In C4D you can use a cloner on a cube, put a rigid body tag on that cube and it will automatically enable physics on each clone. So, no Blender isn't at the C4D level when it comes to motion graphics yet. Blender can do a lot of everything but C4D is still superior when it comes to procedural animations. But hey, Blender is free. I say that as a Blender artist myself. Blender has a long way to go to compete with C4D.

How did people ever use programs like 3DSMax for motion graphics? Without a real animatable cloner and fields and effectors, a lot of go to broadcast motion graphics styles seem to be almost impossible.

They use expensive paid plugins for this! And 3ds Max is a Dinosaur and 2 times more expensive then Maxon One subscription! I hate 3ds Max UI...so many windows to work around!

​@@severfifteen994 the majority of industry standard softwares are better than Blender (in their field) cinema4d,houdini,maya,zbrush,3dsmax,mari,substance,unreal,motionbuilder,davinci,Krita etc .... Blender won't beat them because it can't beat or very difficult to beat heavily used specialized softwares ;) Blender is good but I still use it as a specialized software

​@@kraphik3d Not true anymore. Blender UI has been streamlined and innovated to look great and very simple to use. I was a C4D user but I switched to Blender when 2.8 came out. I honestly learned it quicker then C4D. Also, 3.6 LTS just came out with simulation nodes, so further comparisons on the mograph scene have no value anymore. And comparing C4D to the Blender evolution timeline, it will probably overshadow C4D in the coming years as it strives to achieve Houdini level but still have accessible interface.

Blender Animation Nodes much better than c4d, but more hard. and Sverchok (houdini type) not bad too. blender with the help of add-ons can combine a lot of programs and convenient tools, so that blender the best).

In my opinion, even today Cinema 4d is an outdated and expensive 3d package, who acts as a hub for 3rd party plugings. Old particle systems, old painter, no fluid simulation, no gpu renderer ( yeap they included ProRender but nobody uses it), so in practice if you don´t invest on additional software such as x-particles, realflow, substance painter, and an additional renderer you will be limited respect of possibilities. Do the maths and sure you will surprised in terms of monthly or annual budget. Choose your target, if you want beautiful motion graphics it could be an option ( paying a lot for extras ), but if you want to make game assets, hard surface modeling, sculpting, you should choose a different 3d tool. Until R20 version they didn´t have a material node system, until R22 release unwrapping tools were really bad... Blender at this moment is extremely powerful, easy to use, has better modeling tools, affordable plugings and covers many of cinema 4d lacks for free.
