No. They stole the land white farmers PAID for. That’s thievery. No wonder why Zambia and other countries are thriving while Zims is a dump.

Thanks for sharing! We don't compensate thieves. They love our resources, our african soil, but never will give us our credit. They can't grow their own farms on their western land bc they polluted all their waters with oil, and microplastics. It should be africa's right to receive all the money from their resources, it is their land.

Very true. Good point. I have been to Zimbabwe in 1988. Tried to get into South 🇿🇦 Africa to visit Mr. Nelson Mandela in prison. But was denied access. Yet I did help to bring him to America 🇺🇸 in 1990 and was on stage with him and Winnie Mandela as he spoke. See me with my trumpet standing behind Aretha Franklin and on the piano with Frankie Beverly on KZbin, June 1990.

I think "thieves" is an unnecessarily strong word and emanates from equating land to commercial agriculture. We see the evil in a race dominating a sector and seem not to see the good use of land for other purposes; airports, schools, cities, roads etc. There is no outcry about land being used for all these purposes and in some cases, we abuse the land ourselves, like how Harare is now a sprawling city in the heart of prime agricultural land. If we had a city like Bulawayo expanding into ranches, the lost land could be compensated by feeding animals on smaller farms with feed from prime agricultural land without loss of productivity, whereas the prime land lost to expanding Harare is lost to commercial agriculture for good without compensation. Those criticizing Zimbabwe land reform should offer examples even if for just discussion on how the land should have been acquired and distributed. Statements like "take land without compensation and have white farmers transfer knowhow to new black farmers" are not quite helpful. Taking land without compensation is an adversarial exercise, how can you have knowledge transfer in such an environment? Isn't claiming they were compensated from the profits on the farms a display of lack of understanding basic economics and profits? Governments often subsidize farmers because farming is an industry critical to most economies and margins can be thin. If a Canadian farmer toils all his career in the frozen tundra and decides to spend his retirement days in sunny Africa would he be questioned for spending his "profits" in Africa? Why should we care where farmers spend their profits? Is it OK for White Africans to dominate commercial agriculture in Africa? I think it depends? When the dominance is based solely on colonial advantage and blacks are absent from the scene by purposeful exclusion then the racial bias needs to be addressed by making commercial agriculture an open career choice for blacks. That is different from expecting all blacks to be farmers just because they are black. The USA sprint teams are almost exclusively black and swimming teams almost exclusively white. Racially biased as they are both sets of teams perform wonderfully for the country. Should they be disrupted to have racial balance and then maybe perform poorly? I think if the doors to commercial agriculture are open to blacks and if whites happen to be our star performers then we should be prepared to live with the fact.
