If I may? Unless there is a holocron stating otherwise, I would venture a guess that Grievious was trained in what is know as Sith Hard style, which relied on strength over agility (he was a cyborg after all). From what I understand, Sith only recognize two styles, hard or fast, with the latter emphasizing agility. This is legends canon though, so it might not be accurate, and one major point of debate would be on _who_ trained Grievious. If it was Dooku, it could've been one of the Jedi styles, probably the one Dooku was most familiar with (style 2; Makashi). If it was ol' Palpy, all bets are off. However, with the reliance on intimidation and spinning that Grievious employed, I would personally guess that the style Grievious employed may in part may have been a testbed for what would later become the styles employed by the Imperial Inquisitors.

Forget Cortosis, how about a video explaining why anyone gets run through with a lightsaber, and then has the blade pulled straight out like it's a spear. I noticed it again when he stabbed the young female Jedi three separate times. It's a lightsaber, it cuts into flesh like a knife through water, why didn't he just rip it out to her side? Half her body would have been bisected. I know it's too gory for most Star Wars, but they could at least make it a bit more realistic. And a hundred years doesn't sound like far in the future of the galaxy.
@zachmercer1065
@zachmercer1065 2 ай бұрын
If we assume lightsabers are similar to swords except with a cutting edge on all sides, then it is fairly realistic to pull a lightsaber out from the hole you just put in someone after stabbing them. When it comes to real swords, regardless of how sharp they are, it will always take less effort to remove them from a wound the same way they went in (unless they’re serrated). If you try to cut through someone sideways after stabbing them you would need a good angle and sufficient force (like a strenuous amount of force) to do so, but in combat it would be less risky to just simply pull the blade out the way it went in. Like a lightsaber, you can bisect someone with a sharp enough sword that can also retain its edge through the cut, but it will be significantly harder to cut all the way through after stopping to a standstill part way, to the point where it’s not really worth the effort unless the sword is stuck. As for lightsabers though, while the “blade” is made of constantly flowing energy, it might be the case that momentum matters for cutting through or into objects and maybe cutting your way out of a body after stabbing it is just slower than pulling it out, making it less ideal when you’re fighting more than one person. I wouldn’t put it past Disney for doing it that way due to prop restrictions or some failure to understand SW lore on their part though. Personally though, I like the way they do it in the anime-style short movie where they just turn off the lightsaber after the stab.
@timwhite5562
@timwhite5562 2 ай бұрын
@@zachmercer1065 yeah but assuming it cuts just like a blade would be assuming something that's demonstrably untrue, which renders the rest of it moot. We've seen people use lightsabers to cut through reinforced blast doors, concrete among other things that no other blade would cut through. Christ, Ashoka do a single 360⁰ pirouette and cut through the ground into a basement.

All that is required to turn history deciding battles or important duals/fights is a few seconds to several minutes... An Cortosis apparently does exactly THIS with Lightsabers. I think cortosis is neat, but I liked it more before Star Wars became a flush with "anti-lightsaber metals". Then we got phrik, and Mandalorian iron, which we now call beskar, and I think there was ultrachrome, and probably one, or two, more that I'm not remembering. Obviously, as lightsabers are the iconic weapon of Star Wars, and the Jedi, and Sith, within it, it stands to reason there would be some, and then each era would have its own, as others hadn't been discovered, yet, but it still got silly. Honestly, though, there will always be the gamer in me, who, having played a fair amount of Star Wars RPG games, over the years, would like to see a tool that combines the Indestructiblity of phrik with the lightsaber-disrupting quality of cortosis. Maybe not some godly alloy, but at least something like an electrostaff, except that the ends are cortosis, and so can block, and disable, lightsabers when the moment is right. Off topic, but considering the CIS had enough phrik to fabricate electrostaves, and never seemed TOO concerned about losing the precious items, they didn't create some suit of armor, or chassis, for a droid. Sure, it's rare, and likely heavy, making it also inefficient, and Sidious probably forced the Confederacy to be very stingy with it, so it wouldn't get out of his control, but one, or a small team, could have been dangerous. I'd guess he simply didn't want to scare the Jedi THAT BADLY, and make them hide in their temples, as he needed them outcand about, where his soldiers could eventually kill them.
@Wright805
@Wright805 2 ай бұрын
"I think there was ultrachrome..." Correct. Ultra-chrome (from the novel Shatterpoint) cannot be cut by lightsabres because it's a superconducting alloy. The heat from the blade is instantly conducted away. As Mace Windu explained, pressing a lightsabre against a piece of ultra-chrome will eventually cause it to melt, but it cannot be cut by energy blades.

The first Jedi that dies was so stupid that they didn't even think to use force push with 2 hands at once to move 2 different things so they just let themself die of stupidity. Him playing with a few of these weaklings is nothing, pretty sure it was just knights as the highest ranks in the fight anyway. Grievous killed masters, even council members, and he was just Dooku's toy that he had a love hate relationship with. This idiot had to use a sensory deprivation helmet because he was afraid Jedi would read his mind, or something. A true Sith of the Rule Of Two era would never be so weak to resort to this against such opponents. This idiot threatening to kill one of the twins also made me laugh because if that happened to Obi-Wan or Anakin, where Dooku was threatening to kill Ventress, I'm pretty sure they'd be quipping to Dooku at her expense rather than being worried about her. She's the enemy, after all. She was a war criminal. This whole series is just horribly written. It blocking energy weapons is one thing, it disabling them on contact with the blade is just plain stupid. In a duel, having your sword basically turned off for like 10 seconds means you are dead. The choreography of The Acolyte is utterly terrible.

I think they just come here to say Disney ruined Star Wars blah blah, I doubt they even watch the video. It’s like they need the validation from the handful of miserable souls who still scream Disney ruined star wars like we haven’t heard that and moved on already. 😂

@@shouhanyun8203 not really, once I hear about the acolyte or any other Disney SW crap, I leave. I left a comment to let OP know that I don’t like hearing about Disney SW. I will continue to watch OP content, but leave as soon as I hear anything about Disney SW
