@@Cloudedjudgement2 well if you watched it till end thawn was a normal guy but Barry was not able se him as normal as he knew in future he will kill his mother. It's negative speed force that messes with his brain and thawn in season 1 knew every single trick Barry learned in later seasons. So if he wanted to he could be worst nightmare. No one stood a chance against him but since his speed force was weak so was his madness. Even when Barry went back in time Thawne reaction was 'so I failed to go back home'.He pretty much went super easy on them only to be erased at end.

@theflashguy1 Tom is very one note. His Thawne always has one of two modes: r Raspy Calm Psycho and Boastful Supervillain. Matt has more of that Rage that embodies the Negative Speedster while also being able to have the range to cover Tom's strengths and even show his fears and insecurities. Tom isn't bad at all there's a reasons fans including me love him. I just think he does more with his different Wells'.
