People should make sure they turn on their training data sharing. I bet lots of people just say no to that by default. In this case we really need it for the quality and safety of the product!

I Don’t have a CT yet so I did not know this was an option. I don’t think it should be. And my fear is that by waiting for the CT the price of autopilot and FSD will be more than 8K or more than $100 for subscription because of the more complicated control algorithm.

Yeah, hadn’t thought about the ride height as yet another variable along with variable steering wheel ratio and the rear wheel turning variable to complicate the FSD control algorithm. The ride height is significant if you view the distance to the curb or white line as a triangle in which that distance is Y but R is what the camera measures. R is very dependent on the distance of the camera to the ground. It took me a long time to trust autopilot going around a sharp curve on a narrow road. Autopilot had to be crazy accurate in that situation.

It would easier to require your at normal drive height while engaging FSD or if the ride height would auto switch to normal height upon engaging FSD.

@@jeffreykilpatrick3592 yeah that’s a good short-term option but Tesla historically opts for long term design choices.

I don't know if this is actually true. How do you know this? Tesla almost certainly has a way to deal with this without extensive data at every height.

Not sure if the lower/higher ride height preferences make that big a difference when it’s less than 2 inches or so. FSD isn’t for off-roading mode and most normal driving happens with 8.5-10 inches of clearance in my experience.

@@mtfang yeah it’s not a major difference but all driving differences (medium and low) have to be trained in the model. It’s just one of the factors of several. In part 1 I talked more about this.
