I can offer a possible explanation. Really I think it comes down to loneliness, isolation, lack of community, lack of feeling like you're part of something bigger than yourself. In the past, limits on technology forced us to form close knit communities where we interacted daily with the same people for your entire life. Go back far enough and MOST people never traveled more than 50 miles from where they were born. Humans have evolved for DEEP social interaction, not superficial relationships, not parasocial online relationships, and not for isolation where you doomscroll 8 hours a day. We are out of our element. We are surrounded by things meant to distract us from the great mystery of life. How many people can you have a truly deep conversation with anymore? If people talk about the meaning of life, why we are here, what it all means, they get mocked for being "weird" if you take those questions seriously. But what else really is there in life? We no longer experience life authentically, everyone is distracted with their own hyper specific form of entertainment, ultra hedonism. So many have passed away without stopping and thinking about the fact that they are alive and how trippy that really is. Long story short, people are more self-absorbed than ever. Humans are made for interaction not isolation.

I feel like he needs to stop making videos or at least until after the elections. It’s becoming more intense and people of both sides have STRONG political opinions because some issues affect more than others. Just because Trump was almost assassinated doesn’t mean we should support him or his political plans. I am seeing a lot of Trump supporters in the comments where they’re not understanding the message. He is not a good person but he doesn’t deserve to be killed. Even though he has wished death on illegal immigrants why shooting them on sight and he said it at one of his rallies recently. Those people aren’t following the laws but do they deserve to die? It does seem that Trump supporters believe that violence is only being imposed onto their side, which is definitely not the case. I also agree that trump is not the good guy in this scenario, but the point is that he doesn't deserve to be killed. I personally hope that he makes it to the election so that he can lose fair and square to Kamala Harris. Either way though, violence should not be tolerated or normalized - from kids getting killed in their classrooms to political figures on the campaign trail.
