Rob Dawson nails it. Fact is if you look at the sum total of Ineos decision making it is so far no better than when the Glazers were making decisions. Because Ratcliffe is successful in one business is no guarantee he will succeed in another.

it is better for the simple fact they’ve built a football structure to move away from total reliance on the manager. Ten Hag extension however was a joke.

Lazy journalism by Mark. He was all praise for Ashworth assignment. But after the sack he is pointing that Dan Ashworth was hired on reputation has not done any significant job. Where was this research when he was hired by united and had the whole gardening leave saga.

Embarrassing listening to Mark Ogden as well. Sounds like he's on Ratcliffe's payroll. Selling his journalistic credibility for scoops . Access journalism at it's worst.

A new manager in the middle of a season who plays a system that doesn’t suit the squad is a shocker. An interim should have been brought in till the end of the season. What is Amorim supposed to do with a squad that doesn’t have a wingback and he needs four of them. Ok retread a couple of wingers. He needs a couple of runners in midfield, Utd has one in ugarte. That’s why Amorim only wanted to come in the summer.

Basically Dan Ashworth isnt ManUtd standard according to Sir Jim & Ineos. Clearly Sir Jim believes the Sporting Director is Key position in this transition period & that person has to be better than Dan Ashworth! Not sure who is better but thats for Ineos to figure out!

Chelsea would have signed both Palmer and Olise that year. Joe shields insisted on signing both Palmer and Lavia.. We went in for Olise again after having Palmer. City would never have sold him for 25. They want more than that for Mcatee. We did pay slightly more than we had to for Palmer, but that was for a payment structure concession. If you guys do this for a living you should really be better at it.

My suspicion has always been that with Berrada’s knowledge of City, he knew Amorim was a strong candidate in terms of succession planning post Pep, hence why United moved so quickly w/o a meaningful process. The whole ‘3 at the back’ post rationalisation only took place after it was clear United were going to get him.

I think the recruitment this summer was good except one area and that was that they didnt bring a proper no 9 in. Zirkzee is not a no 9 and not even close to be good enough to play in that position for Manchester United. We talking about proven goalscorers on the highest level is needed. A proper no 9 is probably a difference between sitting 13th in the league instead of top 4.
@Lioness_UTV3 күн бұрын
Easy to say....Can you name a proper #9 that's proven, has experience, and is available? I can't not for the money United could pay.
@MichaelEnright-gk6yc2 күн бұрын
United had to take what they could afford and who was available . You can't buy everyone. You can't buy success unless you spend like Chelsea. Look at how long it's taken for Chelsea to start performing. United have been to impatient since Fergie . But with Fergie they gave him more than 3yrs to turn things around.
