The producers of The flash movie explain why they did not ask Grant they didn't want him okay they thought he was not box office bankable well you know something that He-Man movie that came out back in the '80s the guy that played He-Man on the stage when he heard that already cast for the part he said I can play the he-man he said I am much bigger than Dolph landrum is muscular and the producer responded back but we think Dolph landrum got box office potential well guess what? the movie flopped I like the movie tell the truth but the movie was a flop it didn't matter how much I liked it see sometimes you got to go with the person that really can look like the character. The flash show ends with season 9. Could they switch Gustin in for Miller? Miller is a complete dumpster fire. Just switch them. Multiverse explain it away. Gustin would be fine with actually good writing. He was good as Barry early. The series is only bad because it turned into "team flash" and got away from the core of who Barry is.

DC needs to get it together & figure out a clear cut direction for their movies & TV shows. Either make them a shared universe & put some effort into connecting them or just focus on stand alone movies. But we've already had a Suicide Squad reboot, 2 different justice leagues, 2 Jokers, 2 Batman...they're just all over the place

Yeah, DC's "main timeline" movies have the lower-quality and strange feel of the extra-MCU Fantastic Four (2 different movies, all diff actors), Hulk (2 diff movies, diff actors), Spider-Man (3 diff actors), and Morbius (out of the blue, totally forgettable) movies - totally disjointed, weird, having no direction, and making no sense - except even those Marvel movies were (at least) passable in some ways. DCEU main movies - not so much, especially given how well-known DC's characters are. How many Superman and Batman re-booted movies is it going to take to finally get the DCEU started on a consistent path? Superman has had 6 movies and Batman has had 7 movies in the "modern" ages (ie: since the late '70's) not even counting the movies they''ve been in together recently (2). That's been 15 movies total between Batman and Superman since the late '70's and DCEU hasn't "gotten it together" yet to make a consistent Universe. This points to them probably never getting it together - which is a real shame. Maybe they should give the whole franchise to Kevin Feige and Marvel so they can roll the DC characters into the MCU for them to (finally) make a decent movie that's watchable more than once.

It's just a shame because DC/Warner seem to be embarrassed at the fact that fans were clamoring for them to let him finish his original vision for that film to cover up the stink that was the original JL movie, & because his version was such a hit with the fans, they are just acting like spoiled brats & not giving the fans what they want. @@KIrvin_The_Scholar I agree that the fans deserve better...and though I'm mainly a Marvel Comics reader and MCU movie watcher - I still root for DC to get their movies to at least point in the right direction. What's happened is the execs at WB want to make money "by superhero movies - just like Marvel", but don't actually have any interest in (or experience in reading) DC's comics or DC's characters at all. It's almost as if they're saying: "Let's put out movies back to back like Marvel....", but they don't even have or understand the basics of who the characters are or what motivates them to act and interact the way they do. They only have very "surface level" or a "distant" understanding of DC's characters - unlike the MCU where Marvel's characters are known personally by the viewer and have been known intimately by their watchers. MCU = character/relationship driven drama/action movies. DCEU = action movies that are very thin on characters or plots.

As an old Flash fan, I have to sadly say it. Even tho I love this show, I'm happy it's ending on 9th season. Recent 2-3 seasons are just one big mess and writers ruin characters that were very good written before (for example Barry or Caitlin). The fact how loud was moment of Tom Cavangh leaving show & now he has returned, says everything.

I hope that they will do justice to Cobalt Blue for the final season of The Flash. Which is what we fans have been asking for a long time as well as the finale for the series. It's not what is used to be like before. WOW, that's really a lot to cancel a 90 million dollar movie that will never see the light of day, especially after basically finishing it :)

@@sus527 DC has a hard time with movies. they make flop after flop especially in the world bulding aspect. they are great with more drama series, but they really need a strong visionary like kevin feige to bring in something cohesive that makes people excited. like build off the last batman movie and that world since it did so great (Birds of Prey maybe). Maybe pull inspiration from the Arkham game. Or a live action Teen Titans. honestly the justice league was SUCH a let down I dont think DC should try to reboot that for quite a while. Well, we all saw the writing on the proverbial wall. Why do you ask? It’s quite simple. The Arrowverse was on its last legs for the past I would say 2 or 3 years. Give or take. The majority of the shows were getting harder & harder to watch. Plus with the merger that DC eventually was going to rid itself of the CW shows altogether and just stick with their HBO Max content. It’s very similar to Disney’s approach. Disney Plus is great by the way. One way or another this was going to happen. I have yet to watch Titans or Doom Patrol & yes, I know that I have to get on that. I’ve heard nothing but good things about both shows. Being the big comic book fan that I am I’m surprised that I haven’t watched them yet. As far as Batgirl is concerned it broke my heart that DC wasn’t going forward with the film. Now I’m hearing similar rumors with the Supergirl movie. Other than that unfortunate business it’s a wonderful time to be a Marvel/DC fan. We’re gonna be eating good for the next couple of years! Can’t wait for the Black Adam movie!

I get it. DCEU Has a history of putting out bad, over budget movies & TV shows & nothing is in continuity with each other. So perhaps they’re finally getting someone to salvage what good movies they have in order to have a linear timeline of movies that all connect like the comics did. Like the MCU is doing now Separate universes is one thing but the DCEU was all over the place. Hopefully there’s a plan behind all of this for better continuity

I think DC loves the tone and cinematography of Shazam and Black Adam. They want to continue following this path. It’s possible that they don’t want to go dark but try to go light like Marvel. I never minded the dark tone, I was always more upset with the poor storylines. Anyways, DC wants to go big so they axed Batgirl which was a small movie. They canceled The Flash probably because they want to focus on this character on the big screen. Also redirect budget from the show to movies.

No that’s absolutely what they shouldn’t be doing, the reason that most of the recent marvel movies are light i’ll because they we’re bought out by Disney a few years ago and ever since then day they never made that one movie that took itself seriously like the Batman. Nowadays these latest marvel movies are filled with stupid jokes in with the villains there’s no real threat there’s no real peril, and I’m sorry for ruining endgame but the fact that they could undo everything that I was dead just took away from it. So basically by I’m doing the snap they’re saying that any problem could be fixed with time travel, there are no mistakes and death isn’t real, nobody learns anything nobody gets better. They are taking these beautiful, awesome and majestic movies and filling with stupid jokes just so they can make a quick buck. Warner Bros should definitely not be copying the same mistakes that Disney and Marvel are making. This is why Warner Bros is fucking up in marvelous starting to fuck up it’s run by a bunch of businessman who only care about making money not about the story not about the characters and not about giving the audience what they want, only giving the audience what they think they want. The people in marvel should care more about quality than quantity, and DC needs to get better so they can push marvel to be the best that they can be as a form of friendly competition. Somebody needs to do something about this, somebody Who actually cares about these characters, the stories and everything else about them needs to step in.

Hot take : DC films work better as solo movies and don't need any universe continuity. Ex : The Joker, The Batman, Dark Knight trilogy. They've all worked well as solo movies. Idk why they don't use that formula in future ones.

Why don't they just conduct a Survey first ? I understand some creative directors to do a feature on beloved characters but sometimes some hero characters, villains and especially "sidekicks" don't really need a standalone film like Robin, Catwoman, Batgirl, Penguin, Harvey, Harlequin, Comm Gordon, etc. They're just really there as 'Support' to the main character or protagonist. These missteps really costs a lot of money, time and a BIG disappointment to those actors who were expecting a breakthrough, redemption or comeback in a film like big budgeted box office that would just woosh gone, how sad 😢

I think fans should be worried about the future of DC under the WBD umbrella. A lot of people saying they are ready for a fresh start for DCEU but Batgirl was scheduled for release this year. This fresh start can't really happen until after Aquaman 2 and the flash movie. I'll be waiting to see what else they cancel

I like The Batman. Didn't like emo Bruce Wayne and constant song loop, but the Cat Woman and Batman storyline was real smooth. Batman was well written and I loved that Penguin was a gangster and well F'n played. Best Batman movie since Dark Knight.

A TV series that started in a world that contained NO YOU TUBE. A series, for better and worse, that helped usher in a new era of superhero over-saturation. And, a series that had the b***s NOT to have a full-body shot of its hero in costume! You can look that last one up if you don't believe me. Tom Welling was adamant about ever donning the red and blue bodysuit. Ah, the 90's to mid 00's, when watching wrestling was actually entertaining. And BTAS was just being released on DVD! The thing about DC is that they’re great at telling STORIES. Throwing up superhero movies isn’t gonna cut it because Marvel has already cornered the market. What DC needs to do is differentiate, make grounded dramas, hell even horror movies. Marvel won’t dare go past PG-13 (Unless you count Logan and Deadpool). Can you imagine how scary a movie about Professor Pyg would be?! That’s why the new Batman was so good

I knew the Batgirl movie was canceled and the Flash TV series, but I was thinking they kicked Ezra Miller's Flash movie to the curb as well. 😅 I'm glad Superman and Lois is safe for another season. It already had a home streaming on HBOMAX even after CW sells. And if Hbomax gets folded into Discovery+, it should continue to have a home there as well. I'm a little nervous about its longevity, especially when WB gets its act together and puts plans for another big budget live action Superman movie in place.

The CW have a habit or ruining DC shows. I remember watching smallville before arrow and flash and they have the same problem in every one. They start off really interesting with a good storyline then after a season or two the CW over saturate the each episode of whatever show with melodrama about nonsense issues each character has. Take the flash for example, 8 seasons in and hes still 2nd gussing himself and having existential crisis' i mean in reality if your doing something for 8+ years I'm pretty sure you'd be confident in what you're doing. I watched an episode of the latest flash series not long ago and counted exactly 7 mins of action in the episode with the rest filled by nonsense melodrama about each characters miniscule problems. I felt like i was watching a housewifes show and not a DC series.

DC has a hard time with movies. they make flop after flop especially in the world building aspect. they are great with more drama series, but they really need a strong visionary like kevin feige to bring in something cohesive that makes people excited. like build off the last batman movie and that world since it did so great (Birds of Prey maybe). Maybe pull inspiration from the Arkham game. Or a live action Teen Titans. honestly the justice league was SUCH a let down I dont think DC should try to reboot that for quite a while. Heck they could do what Marvel did and go galactic and pull in L.E.G.I.O.N. 🥺

For some reason, this makes me really excited about the Flash film promotional tour. Since so many films/TV shows have been cancelled, the pressure will be that much greater for the remaining media to be successful and we all know how Ezra Miller responds to pressure. Adam O I saw The Batman movie with Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz. He was too broody and moody and her catwoman costume was a joke. IMPO, that movie just sucked. Besides Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck was a better Batman (those 2 were the only ones I thought played the character best).

WB is just a mess, cancelling a movie for tax reasons is just wrong, so many people worked so hard on a movie, it should be shown is some way. WB saying they think it's a mid movie is a statement we will never know is true. WB should stick to making individual movies and stop trying to creat big story arcs because they keep failing. Wrong what I heard that hbomax is ending and hbo is going to be folded into discovery streaming service. Also discovery streaming is going to be focusing only on unscripted reality shows and they are not going to be spending a lot on new scripted programming. Also it was already stated earlier in the year next season of flash was going to be the last season anyway ,because a lot of the actors wanted to leave to do other projects.
