Sir , One very generalized approach in this regard , is that - to check whether the Insulation is capable to sustain the stress imposed by the Voltage without actually breaking down , the stress itself must be of continuous nature which is truly not possible in case of A.C. . My understanding may please be reviewed & acknowledged Sir .

Its true for hipot dc test. how you can check stress handling capability of a 6.6 kv motor by applying 1kV dc. Your this statement seems inappropriate at this case. correct me if you think otherwise.

Sir , One more thing also I would definitely like to mention ,i.e., application of A.C. voltage can result into measurement of the impedance concerned , not really the resistance in deed . My understanding may please be reviewed & acknowledged Sir .

Ok. explain me why we are only interested in measurement of resistance? why not capacitance or other components.

I have a question. Please explain. If we go as per IEC or IEEE standard, the value of test voltage levels will be different for different rated voltage machine. What is the contact behind this?

Sorry, I don't get your point brother. Different voltage rated motors have different insulation on their winding. So, isn't it obvious to test the insulation with different voltage level according to the operating voltage?
