I just wanna make it very clear that I am not blaming Selena or Demi (or Taylor) for anything being said in this video. I am simply just letting you know what happened from both sides because I genuinely believe it wasn't 1 persons fault completely. Selena has overall always been nice and supportive of Demi's career and vice versa. They simply just had issues and in this video we discuss those issues. I just wanted to make that clear because I want everyone to know I'm not placing blame on one person completely or trying to make them seem like the worst. Wow that is very shocking of what I just found out the real reason why that Selena and Demi are no longer friends, the way I am hearing and seeing of how the video has explained is because she regretted for being extremely rude towards Demi for so long and sadly she pay the price for being a total jerk towards Demi and to be honest Demi deserves way more better than this even I’m a fan of Selena but that doesn’t mean I agreed of what she did to Demi and I’m a fan of Demi as well and I feel very bad for her only because I have gone almost similar situation like this when I was in high school back then before there’s no such thing as best friends it’s pure fake friends. I had a friend name Rosalie who is she calls me every time she sees me she would say hi best friend but One week later I found that she was being manipulative towards me and a very bad influence for me as well by dropping my grades down pretty bad things weren’t going well for me so my PE teacher said this one’s what are you doing, you’re not like this ,you’re a very good student ,you should not hang up with a bad influence kids like her or anyone else because you are wasting your time with them so it’s not worth it. I didn’t believe it at first but the next day I slowly begin to realize that she was right about what she told me so I want everybody to learn this from the experience I had because I don’t talk to her no more after what happened because to me she’s nothing but a traitor who stabbed me in the back so that is my story of my high school year as a 9th grader.

Nobody ever talks about the fact that Selena Gomez was going through her own mental health issues, same with Demi. And maybe it wasn’t good for Selena to be around the influence of Demi, who at the time, was drinking and doing drugs and being wild. Maybe Selena didn’t want to be a part of that for her own mental health and that’s why they drifted apart.

That’s fair and all but Demi was there for Selena through every up and down. It’s basic friendship to simply return the favor. The whole ideology that “Demi is hard to be around” is unfair considering I’m sure Selena was hard around during that time too. Selena had several public outbursts and it was clear she was doing through some hard things - which Demi empathized with and was there for her. When it was Demi’s turn, she wasn’t around. And that’s why Demi says that they’re no longer friends. They both went through a lot that’s for sure, but it is basic friendship especially when they did more to help you than Vice versa.

I can honestly relate to Demi because Not too long ago, I used to be friends with these group of girls and I always loved and supported them whenever they were going through something. But whenever I went through something, no one seemed to care. One day, I got into a fight with one of the girls in the group. All the other girls chose her over me and that really hurt me. I felt like no one was there for me and I wasn’t in a good place at that time. I even tried apologizing to them but they didn’t even give me a chance to talk to them. And the fight was something very minor. But that’s how I found out they were never my true friends and they were never there for me when I needed them the most. I’ve found a LOT better friends now and I know they will always love, care about me and support me! And I will always do the same! ❤️

I truly believe everyone is bipolar to an extent. But it can be hard to distinguish this. There are more and more people each year that deal with disorders. I hope that we can become more educated and aware of conditions so that we can help. It’s not Selena’s fault for not understanding what Demi was going thru. Demi was a real friend for being there for Selena even though Selena wasn’t there. However Demi had already experienced this whereas this was brand new to Selena. I really appreciate them both. Having mood swings is not anything like bipolar disorder. We deal with mania and extreme depression. Mania is horrible, I feel like I want to crawl out of my skin. My mind can’t stop racing, I can’t keep up with my thoughts, I get agitated, I can’t sleep. I sometimes have audio hallucinations, act out sexually and put myself in unsafe situations if I’m not on my meds. Now that I’m on medication, I am not impulsive anymore but I still get slight mania. What sucks is that Selena constantly lies about being in rehab for drugs. Once she said she was gone for those two weeks for chemo because of lupus, and gave this rant about how she’s always a good person being attacked by others, but she was literally seen being checked jn at rehab. Certain drugs can cause Drug-induced lupus erythematosus (DIL) is an autoimmune phenomenon where the patient develops symptoms similar to lupus and can happen over use of certain drugs . Now the one thing u are wrong about is the fact that she doesn’t have lupus she could have potentially had been misdiagnosed by her doctor that happens too. Now either way if selena did drugs or not is that really your business no because she is an adult by this time. What I think is that Demi cared so much about Selena that she might have even been in love with her. On the other hand, Selena got a bunch of problems with Justin and just couldn't dedicate herself so much to Demi anymore like before and that's when they started growing apart. The truth is that Selena simply didn't love Demi as much as Demi loved her. Then as they both had their struggles, she found more comfort in Taylor that was the one advising and supporting Selena in a more mature way. In this friendship, Selena was "the little one" and she didn't need to pull the weight of helping someone like she needed to do with Demi. I also think that Demi's song "Stone cold" is for Selena, describing how Demi feels about Selena replacing her with Taylor. After all, I think even to this day Demi is upset because Selena didn't try to fix their friendship and that's why she's bitter but I think she will always love her. And Selena just got through a lot as well and fixing something from the past just wasn't her priority.

tbh. especially after selena's doc. it does seem this way. selena comes off very self centered and insecure. if she's acting this way towards everyone now then she was probably worse as a teenager. i see this situation as one where demi was pushed out somewhat. it must've felt very isolating for demi, losing any and all support and having her issues being critiscised by the world while just trying to survive her teen years. this is also where taylor plays in because of her past hyper good girl image. it makes sense that taylor would never reach out especially publicly. selena "choosing" taylor and her friends would mean less time spent with demi because no one else had any connection or understanding of demi and her experiences and world views. selena preferred this. she got the validation she wanted and didn't have to "deal" with being a proper friend. if you look at any interviews when it comes down to it she flakes on literally everyone but expects to be coddled for a paper cut. all in all. it seems that while taylor and demi have grown. selena has stayed the same and this has always been the issue for her relationship with demi. she's never ready or mature enough. it's never more than just some good days. demi hasn't seem fussed for a while now. she knows there's nothing there. she's focused on her own life. i think that's why she finally was honest. i hope one day selena stops with this charade and finally gets herself together. because at the end of the day it's herself that's left all alone in a dark corner.

Honestly, I think the point is that they are both really good people, but not to each other. I've been Demi's fan probably since 2008, and I followed the journey ever since back then. And as a fan, and as someone who has depression too, I can tell you guys, sometimes we're just not as good to be around (and we're very aware about it also) because of our mental issues. People keep mistreating you, and seem to forget all they have done that cause all the trauma in your head. We overthink about our stuff all the time that turns into a spiral, and people never seem to fully understand what we go through. Sometimes people are just mean and can't be as empathetic as you are, but on the other hand, some times there are friends who can't just keep up with our bullshit, because it's just too much. If it's too much for us, why wouldn't it be for them either, right? So, as I said, I'm a long time fan of Demi, and for a certain period (maybe the past 4 years lol) I kinda held back from Demi's stuff on the internet, music, etc. Not because I stopped being a fan, I of course didn't stop loving her, but because I was going through a very different part of my life and I felt like Demi kept on the same subject, and kinda felt like always complaining over everything. So I can see why people may roll their eyes. But because of the struggles, and because ppl don't seem to understand it, we feel like we have to always explain ourselves, you know? That's why it appears so repetitive. Anyways, Selena was going through her own stuff and Demi wasn't always there for her as the video showed. They both are no good together because they don't know how to deal with their issues inside the friendship. And that's ok. Doesn't mean they are bad people. It's just not meant to be. They have pretty strong feelings and there's no way to balance this having a relationship between Selena and Demi. That's it. And please, stop talking bad things about people. I have great respect for Demi and all she has been through. It might sound a little harsh but I feel that Selena was not a true friend and I don’t think hanging out with Taylor was good for either of them. I can totally understand if you have a friend going through something that you don’t understand but you don’t dump them because of it. If you truly care about that friend then you do what you have to do to understand it and support them. My best friend of 25 years was and addict and though I didn’t understand addiction, I still don’t get it but we stayed friends up until I lost her to an overdose in 2015. I have watched these children grown up into women and I understand how things like this happen. In my opinion somewhere in the course of Demi and Selena’s friendship Selena changed. We all know the nightmare Selena went through with Justin. Just from watching everything unfold, Selena was more worried about Taylor and following following her and her “glam squad”. From what I’ve seen Taylor isn’t a very good person to be friends with and I think Taylor forced her way in between Demi and Selena because she was jealous of that friendship and set out to destroy it. I think Taylor is very self centered and doesn’t know the meaning of true friendship. Not real sure what Taylor’s issue is with Demi. I guess Taylor just doesn’t like Demi because Demi does not seem the type to follow anyone. Demi is a stand alone type of person in their career and they don’t need to follow anyone. From what I have seen with video’s and Stuff I’ve read Taylor is also a leader and Selena is a follower and I guess Selena seems to think that being around Taylor will further her career. I don’t like to believe it but it seems that Selena cares more about her career and fake friendships and Demi is just too nice a person and truly cares for people. I love the fact that Demi has friends that are not celebrities and seems to be happier with those non-celebrity friends. There is also speculation that something else happened in this friendship that tore them apart. Some say that something romantic happened and that when Demi realized that it was one-sided that’s when they walked away knowing there was nothing more they could do to keep the friendship together. Demi has been hurt many times before and walking away probably has saved them from more pain. I’m sure it was a very hard decision to make. Friendships like that don’t just end over night.

Nobody is obliged to stay friends with anyone and people drift apart I agree. They both have such a messy history that they probably can't be friends anymore, too much has happened between them. But "problems with Justin" isn't really an excuse, you mainly deal with boy problems with your friends. And for Demi's relapses people didn't even know she did drugs and after rehab, and then she was friends with Selena again, she was sober for 6 years before she ralepsed in 2018. It's probably not one sided, I agree, but like all relationships friendships can be complicated as well. And sometimes it is one sided. They are people, just like us.

Honestly the both of them are hypocrites about all of this and they are both not very likable people. But this video was very one sided and bias. You didn’t mention the fact that Selena was a recovering addict, that she had her own mental health struggles, and a health crisis where she had a kidney donated and almost died herself after the transplant. The truth is that we don’t really know why they grew apart, but maybe Selena didn’t want to be around another addict, or she just didn’t like her anymore or maybe that is how Demi thought. It’s all valid, and no one is required a friendship just because they knew each other as children. I am not friends with anyone from the childhood, we all changed too much. I always see this childhood friendship crap glamorized, I don’t think having a friend from those ages are bad but it’s not great in a lot of cases bc it’s just two people who never grew up.

I think that Demi was too attached to Selena so it messed her up when Selena found new friends. Demi is more compassionate and vocal than Selena. Like Demi is the type of girl that splashes paint over the painting randomly and waits to see how it comes out, while Selena is the type of girl that creates steps. This is gonna sound so ranty bc it’s long and I totally don’t mean it that way. I think it’s important to realize that Selena was young, barely an adult and it’s unfair to assume she was ready for the kind of stamina and strong will of having to “be there” for a friend who is going down a path she refused to go down at that age. Most middle-aged adults can barely handle that. I remember that first rift very vividly because I was a grown adult watching it all go down lol. Demi was no angel, she was already into drugs and hanging out with trash friends that Selena wouldn’t risk her own reputation with nor was she able to evaluate the situation as an adult who had lived life with any sort of maturity that comes with experience. She purposely distanced herself from Demi who was getting wilder in her life. Taylor had a squeaky clean image that was definitely more Selena’s vibe based off how she presented herself. That was all before the “ask Taylor” incident (which was equally immature of her to do by the way, especially toward a fan), so they seemed to BOTH have been catty toward each other during that time. Only Demi was more public about it and made herself look less and less likable. She was constantly incapable of hiding her bitterness toward Taylor Swift. She later started getting into beef wars on social media with ppl she barely knew. Blame it on the drugs or bipolarity or whatever, but let’s not act like Demi was the victim here. She was not a nice person for the vast majority of her adulthood and I doubt Selena at 17 had much to do with it. Most people wouldn’t want to be friends with such a person unless they were using them for something. Which is exactly what happened according to Demi’s previous docu. Demi deserves just as much blame for the ending of their friendship. I say this as someone who once was invested in their relationship like many subscriber fans who watched them together on their youtube channel. I think Demi is a fantastic singer, and I rooted for her since she first showed up in “As The Bell Rings.” Bought all her albums. I was also a fan of Selena and really sad that Selena pursued music rather than more acting because she’s an extremely talented actress. I was a budding Music major and theatre minor at the time so all this was important to my little heart. But as a much more “lived” adult, I currently have no bias or particular affinity toward either one of them. Heck, I didn’t even like Taylor Swift back then either bc I felt her fame was undeserved, lol! But I can say that at 17, there was no way I was following a bestie into her world of darkness when I’ve got my own life to figure out. At that age, if you are of sound mind, you are preserving what innocence you have left while also trying to navigate adulthood and losing friends who can’t keep up. And for all we know, Selena could very well have fallen down the same path much sooner had she let herself in her naïveté continue to be a part of Demi’s life. As for all that happened when Selena fell down the rabbit hole of addiction herself, I can’t say I know much about that other than: two struggling addicts are the worst possible friendship that can happen. So I’m glad they’re no longer friends. It’s safer for the both of them. You live and learn.

I specifically remember in 10th grade, my lifelong best friend told me I was pretty negative and had a bad habit of complaining too much. Once she told me... It all became clear, she was right. I was thankful she communicated with me in such an honest way. After that, I tried my best to be positive. It really changed my life! She's still my best friend. She is really like my sister! I love her like crazy. Back then AND now, she was always there to listen. She just helped me to realize how much of a downer I was being. She reminded me of how lucky I am to just be alive. Regardless of what I was going through. She has literally given me the shirt off her back since then (i threw up on my shirt on a plane trip and she put on a hoodie and gave me her shirt to wear so I wouldn't have to walk around with puke on my clothes.) I love her so insanely.

This reminded me of a friend who I used to have. I thought that this person was my best friend. Just like demi I struggle with mental health and had an addiction to self harm. I never really told alot of people in beginning the only people who knew was my family and best friend. Then I noticed that she started to copy me and now that I realized she was mocking me. She would proudly admit and show off whenever she harmed herself or that she was sad when she wasn't. While I hide it all until one day when I just snapped and wanted to die. Even after that she would still try to out do me. Not only would she do that but also she would make fun of my physical appearance when she knew I had body image issues. We stopped being friends when she moved away only because she claimed that I was the horrible friend. When I would tell people about it they would get mad at her because they would say that they never once seen me acted toward her that way that she did to me. Even the people I barely would talk to if she stayed said I would never do anything like that.
