Maria, I subscibed to your channel a while back and learn much from your videos that helps me start my desert roses I ordered from Etsy. It's Oct. 9, 2022 here in Lake Charles, LA, so I'm starting late in the year with 5. In Lake Charles, it doesn't normally get very cold in the winter, so the growing season will probably be longer, as long as the daily temperatures don't get very low. Keep up those great videos. I enjoy them a lot. With videos like yours, I don't even need a book to learn about these interesting and beautiful plants. 🪴

Dennis Gangitano Hi friend if you think you Desert rose May have root rot the first thing you need to do stop watering I don’t recommend to pull out the soil if the plant is just dehydrated pulling out the soil make things worst what i think it’s dehydrated from transplant best to give some time to recover also the plant maybe take time because the winter you may not see results until spring 2020 when grow season comes thank you Maria’s garden

Hi Maria, thanks again for another great video. I am in love with desert roses. I have a question I wanted you to verify. Did you say that desert roses should always be in pots and never in the ground? I live in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It rains usually 4-5 days in September. How often should I water in this case? My plants are about 3 years old I’m guessing. I enjoy your videos everyday and learn so much from them.

marguerite last Hi my friend for soil mix for your desert roses is 70 % orchid mix 30% light wait soil also apply Epson salt unscented and fertilizer osmocote slow release or any slow release fertilizer wit high amount of nitrogen the most important the soil has a very good drainage for a 1 cubic feet or mix you need to used 1/4 cup of fertilizer also 1/4 cup of Epson salt unscented yes I know many people used I may tray about water them right after best to make sure the soil it’s dry before grafting and after until the plant show signs of new growing thank you Maria’s garden

Just wonder why ur branches r soooooo long! Every year cut branches back leaving about 2 inches short! Then you’ll get more branch growth, therefore really filling out your plant so basically ur gonna see lots of leaves and more flowers! But, if u don’t cut branches real short, your plant will be leggy! Meaning branches way to long, and not many leaves

I got the whole video until we got to the part about the elastic. I am not quite sure which part of the plant she is putting the elastic thread on and why she is doing it? Did you understand that part?
@fireybutmostlyfriendly42995 жыл бұрын
She wrapped it around the seed pod without stretching it, it will stretch as the seed pod grows. I guess giving the seed pod a bit of resistance with the elastic thread makes the pod healthier ? That's what I understood 🙂
@glen76615 жыл бұрын
The elastic is to hold the pod together so the seeds don't fly away if the pod pops open. p.s. you'll be lucky if you get to this stage!
