Why did All the Sandworms Die out in Dune?

They nearly got exincted, since from the body of Leto 2, new sandworms capable of survive in more habitats grew from his body, making sure that arrakis remains the Planet of the Dunes

But their planet got destroyed by the Honored Matres but the tleilaxu had cloned them and several variants of them as well. The original worms are extinct several times by now actually.

Nonsense. According to the books. Arrakis worms died due to water but some were taken off planet to be seeded in other planets. But the Tleilaxu cracked the spice code and produced it in their tanks (women) way cheaper than harvesting making these monsters insignificant.

Hey mindq An interesting video you can make is on a leaked image for gxk where kong and suko where walking over a giant skeleton like a bridge. The skeleton in the image was HUGE (like shimu and ghidorah combined would look like kittens level huge)

They weren’t the giant worms we know today when they were released, they were only trouts they slowly grew in size and created a more suitable environment for themselves. By the time they started to terraform the planet again the sandworms were no longer the terraformers they once was
