My cat definitely was a gift from the Universe! He literally healed me from a broken heart❤. He is absolutely the most affectionate cat that I have ever had. I'm so Blessed that he came into my life! All my pussycats have taught me many lessons. There’s always been a cat in my family, never been without one. But, living by myself with my PUSSOZ l haven’t been able to get ‘another one’ for 6 months at the time; l grieved for so long. To me, they are ‘EARTH ANGELS’. They are a DIVINE GIFT FROM GOD ABSOLUTELY . My little boy is ‘going home’. soon. My BEST FRIEND, I ADORE MY ‘HAMMIES’. Going back to the vet today. 😰 lf only people could be like them. Even as a little’baby’ ( almost 2 yrs old; l’ve loved cats more than anyone. ) PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND their ‘special gifts’. My heart is full of little holes in my heart for each one of them. They are DIVINE. THANK YOU FOR THIS. 💔😘🩷🩷🩷

I adopted a cat at age 50. I had been told all my life that cats are mean, aloof, and smelly. Finally after years of begging I gave in to my daughter's pleas to get a cat. I was terrified because I had no idea how to care for a cat and also had a dog that I would have to be introduced to the cat. I took him home and immediately isolated him in my small bathroom where he hid behind the toilet. I spent hours just sitting on the floor telling him he was safe and that I loved him. I fell totally in love with him. He is the cuddliest, most affectionate, sweetest creature that ever walked the Earth as far as I'm concerned. At age 50 I discovered I AM a "cat person". He's taught me that I'm not too old to discover new things about myself and who I am. I love him with all my heart.

I had similar experience. It made sense when I considered it. It's said that, when someone is upset, they don't really need/want words or speech to comfort them...just someone else's presence to acknowledge them, and to "hold space" while you feel whatever you are feeling...and that's exactly what my cat does...just looks me in the eyes and acknowledges it all, while exuding strength. ❤

A cat shpwed up at my door. I live miles from anywhere. She was thin and very hungry. I brought her in , fed and watered her. She seemed distressed so she slept right next to me that night. She was a beautiful multi color. In the morning she wated put so I let her out. Later I geard her crying under a horse trailer. She had birthed two kittens. I brought her and yhe kittens in and gave her a box, a blanket for her babies. That noght a miracle happened. I heard a kitten crying outside. I followed the cry under my deck. I belly crawled under to that kitten. A precious yellow kitten had been born and he wasnt giving up. So she raised the three kittens. The kittens thrived and she faded until she got them weaned at six weeks and she died. I was so saddened. But i have her babies and they have filled my life with joy and laughter.

As a U.S. Marine veteran, I have lead a very violent life and also a life of pain and suffering too. I’ve always had this ability to attract animals to me without much effort on my part but as I’ve gotten older, I have found cats that adopt me and no one else in my family. I have cats that I have raised from newborns and more recently, a stray cat that seems to be able to see into my soul and comfort me in ways that I never expected. I have three cats now that can sense everything about me. I have automatic cat food feeders and it’s not cat food that they seek. It is my presence and mindfulness that they seek, although I have one that seeks a full back massage every morning and I am fine with that. It’s kind of a peaceful indicator of what my day will be like in a sense. It starts my day with a calmness that helps me to ignore my morning pain that I usually experience when I first wake up each day too. I think if I had more space, I would automatically have more cats. I also feel like I am their mother, father and doctor all in one and I am fine with that. Cats don’t get enough credit for what they do for humans and how they make people feel. We must learn for ourselves of their values in our lives…

@@StephenRada-q6g Aloha Stephen, this latest injured stray cat that I rescued was already adopted by the Humane Society by a military couple after it was turned in as a stray cat. I went to the Humane Society to get this cat chipped & fixed but that was already done. They contacted the registered owner but they were shocked that I’ve been feeding this cat for 4 months and got very upset. They gave the cat to a “friend” after they got orders to change duty stations to leave JBPHH and they believe that their so called “friend”intentionally abandoned this cat and the cat somehow ended up showing up at our house at lower Tantalus. They said if we were willing to take over care of this injured cat that they would switch the chip and ownership to us. The good news is that this cat has abandonment issues and is afraid of being abandoned again. So beside me rehabbing his injuries to has lower back and tail, I let him sleep with me and my wife. He loves laying his head on my wife’s arm or chest and loves to curl up next to my chest. He is an orange short hair tabby and I was able to obtain all of his all of his medical records after I got the chip switched to my name. Also got the lifetime chip tracking. This cat is one of the smartest cats I’ve ever come across and follows commands and requests pretty easy. He loves it when I pick him up and hold him to my chest and lays his head on my shoulder so lovingly and so thankfully. He loves can food and I feed him two small cans a day. I got him from 6lbs to the current 11 lbs and got him on monthly doses of Revolution Plus. He has scares of fighting for food from other cats around his neck and chest before I took him to the Humane Society a couple weeks ago. When he first adopted me, he could zip through two cans of food in one sitting and lick those empty cans dry. Today, he started to take his time to eat his food and I’m growing cat grasses to help their digestive system. Plus he loves cat toys but he still sleeps more than most cats and has been through a lot for an indoor cat that was abandoned to the wild. Here on Oahu, we have many feral cat populations that were all started by people abandoned cats to the wild instead of turning them into their local humane societies. Getting these cats fixed is the for the best as far as health of cats. BTW, wild feral cats have a short lifespan vs indoor raised cats. We have people that feed these populations on a daily basis, which is all the general public sees. What they don’t see is these same people trapping and turning in these feral cats to get fixed and adopted, which translates to lower cat food costs and lower feral cat populations and the benefits to other animal populations such as the bird populations, especially to rare bird species here in Hawaii. Thank you very much for your compliment, Stephen. I think the general public has not had the opportunity to understand how combat changes veterans over the long term, we no longer enjoy hunting for animals for sport but realious hunting the enemy on the battlefield. I grew up on a farm, hunting deer and other animals, but can’t do that anymore but still enjoy fishing whenever I can. I believe that cats and dogs provide veterans with PTSD’s a way to cope with life in general and gives them the will power to keep putting one boot in front of the other and that’s what is most important for ALL of our veterans whether they are combat vets or not. Veterans are trained for combat in ways the public doesn’t understand, the way they are trained to think in combat whether they are deployed to a war zone or not, that training and way of thinking stays with them for life. With this thought in mind, our VA Healthcare System needs to treat ALL veterans as combat veterans in a physical and mental sense and stop treating ALL of them as second class citizens and provide full dental care benefits and livable pensions to those that qualify. If a vet has a 50% VA rating, chances are they should be closer to 100% physically in most cases but only getting only $1,200 a month to survive and you can’t even find rents lower than that in most cases, which seems unfairly set to low to live in America or on this planet, the reasons behind veteran suicides. Again, thank you for your support for all veterans and not just me. I put others before myself and pets need us just as much as we need them. ❤️🤙🏻

My ex fiancée asked to take my cat (that I raised as a kitten alongside another cat I have when I lived in another state) that bonded with her in the 3 years we were together. She suddenly ended our relationship out of nowhere and had previously told me “you can have your ring back.” When I left a note out that said “leave ring here,” she had left the ring and written back “leave Simba” and I got so mad. I never got mad in our relationship and it made me so upset that she even had the idea to want to take MY cat. I have both of my cats and I’m still getting over how cruel she was. My cats sleep alongside me every night and cuddle together like they always have. If anything, our bond has gotten so close again now that she’s out of my life.

A black cat in a cage stood up and began yowling at me. I told him that he was going to be my cat and I was going to be his guy. The next morning I adopted him. I moved into a motel with him and went to work every day work was available. I lived in one motel for nearly 15 years. Well, I do the rescue informally, so I have a bunch of cats. I don't deal much with other rescuers but with what presents itself in the field. My current oldest cat now is 19 and change. He's gotten somewhat fragile, and we just finished tonight with the worst heatwave I've ever seen around here. I've been following these events for a while, and I believe this one to be engineered. My old cat nipper nearly died because of the heat a couple of days ago. Had to take him to the vet for subcutaneous fluids. He's still kind of rough, and he may go soon. The next oldest presently is Berkeley at 14.@@WisdomoftheUniverse88

Your dedication to cat rescue is admirable. It's heartwarming to see how you care for these cats, especially during challenging times like the heatwave. I hope your older cats, especially the 19-year-old, pull through. Your compassion makes a real difference in their lives.

A few cats came into my life about a year after I deeply depressed about losing my dog so suddenly. I felt empty and like I was just moving through life and feared my source of happiness had forever left me. Now, although I missed her every single of every day, I’ve healed through the appearance of a few strays who chose to stay with me. Cats are special and loving 💕

When my first cat died I was so heartbroken. He'd been a part of my life for many, many years. About a year after he passed I was reading when I detected a movement with my peripheral vision. I turned my head and there he sat looking as solid and real as he did in life and licking a paw. With delight I cried out his name. He looked up at me and meowed a "hello". Then I squeezed shut my eyes, shook my head as in, "This is real!" But, when I opened my eyes he was gone. (Sigh.) Years later a community cat at an apartment complex adopted me. He got injured and I nursed him back to health and he stayed with me most all day and night, but was still much of an indoor/outdoor cat. One day he didn't come home and I searched for him with no luck. I prayed he was okay and would soon come home. A couple of days passed and he appeared to me as an indescribable , (but try), white/gold sparkling light to let me know he'd passed. Both of them were beautiful, sweet cats and they comforted me. I'm so blessed and grateful! ✨💛✨

Well said, beautifully! I'm 76 widow and have owned cats my whole life, my beloved furbabies! Our beautiful calico Angora mother cat when I was growing up had four litters of kittens a year, four to six kittens a litter so I was always surrounded by them! We always found good homes for them and gave them away for free, though I kept a couple of them. I just lost my two beloved beautiful furbabies in 2020, my gray and white Tuxedo female cat and my orange and white Tabby male cat, along with losing a beloved daughter to Covid 19 when she was 41, three great losses in one year. Losing a beloved pet is just as heartbreaking as losing a child, don't ever let anyone tell you different, imho! Both my remaining beloved daughters also have great cats, a calico female and an all black male cat and my two beloved granddaughters, one has two cats, one all black male cat and a gray Tabby male cat! A real Cat lover family! I noticed over the years that cats do know how to meditate and also know how to do yoga, their stretches like "downward cat"! You took it even deeper than that! One of my favorite books is "The Cat Who Went To Paris", written by the author who once hated cats, but then fell in love with the Scottish fold cat that was given to him by a friend! After my two beautiful cats with great personalities died in 2020, they both came to me in my dreams at night and then one night I felt a cat pawing at my feet and realized that it was the spirit of my orange and white Tabby male cat whom I was the closest to spiritually and he with me, that has lasted for the most part over the past four years, so that lesson was "love never dies" his spirit is always with me and he was always protective and fiercely loyal to me! We had a very special loving bond and still do! Cats have saved and healed my life more than once! Peace, love and namaste~ ♥😻♥

Before he went into the hospital he told me to get a cat to keep me company but then said get 2 so they will have a companion. I first said no, but changed my mind and got 2 10 week old kittens. That was the best thing he could have asked me to do. He didn't want me to be lonely and I wasn't for 18 years. I fell in love with these beautiful friends. They were my family. Well, ain't that just the sweetest thing! Sounds like you and that furry friend of yours were meant to find each other. It's amazing how these little critters can come into our lives at just the right moment and turn things around. You adopting him when you were struggling shows you've got a big heart, and I bet that kindness is coming right back to you now. Pets have a way of giving us purpose and unconditional love when we need it most. I'm sure you're giving that cat a wonderful home. The fact that you're hoping to make him happy shows what a caring owner you are. Keep on cherishing each other - that bond between a person and their pet is truly something special. Remember, by saving him, you saved a little piece of yourself too. Here's to many more years of happiness for both of you!

I read a very moving comment someone wrote about a pet. A guy was very depressed, and suicidal after his father died. He was in the process of hanging himself when his father's dog walked into the room, and looked at him with a worried, sad and devastated look on his face, as if pleading with him not to do it.. The guy took the rope down after the dog seemed to communicate to him. How an animal could figure out what the guy was about to do to himself is beyond me. They know and feel more than we could ever imagine. Cats and dogs are put on earth to help us in so many ways. It's also so amazing how the dog walked in the room to see him at the time he did.

That's an incredibly powerful story. It really showcases the deep bond and intuition that animals can have. Pets often sense our emotions in remarkable ways, and in this case, that connection literally saved a life. It's a beautiful example of how animals can provide comfort, purpose, and even intervention in our darkest moments. Thank you for sharing this moving account - it's a poignant reminder of the profound impact our animal companions can have.

I so love and respect my sweet Mitzy, a kitty I got online from a Facebook friend’s mother. She did profoundly change my life for the better, and I am forever grateful of this wonderful gift I received, which has spiritually and physically enhanced my life beyond what words can convey. She has become my reason for the growth, empathy, spirituality, unconditional love, understanding, and compassion to people and other animals that I have developed. 😍💝😻💖

Well, ain't that just the sweetest thing! Looks like little Mitzy came into your life like a ray of sunshine, bringin' all sorts of goodness with her. It's amazin' how these furry friends can touch our hearts and change our lives in ways we never expected. Suzanne, you've really hit the nail on the head about how pets can bring out the best in us. That kitty's been like a four-legged angel, teachin' you all about love, compassion, and seein' the world with fresh eyes. It's heartwarmin' to hear how she's helped you grow in so many ways. Y'know, sometimes the best gifts come in the most unexpected packages. Who'd have thought a cat from a Facebook friend's mom would end up bein' such a blessin'? Just goes to show, love can find us in the darndest places. Keep on lovin' that sweet Mitzy, and let her keep on teachin' you. Sounds like you two were meant to find each other, and that's a beautiful thing. Thanks for sharin' your story - it's bound to bring a smile to anyone who reads it!

One of mine wouldn't have survived due to the mother abandoning him (a scrawny, malnourished stray), & the bond is special because he's distrustful. The other one just showed up one night looking for food & decided she wasn't leaving. She'd obviously been adopted from a shelter, & I got the impression they neglected her. She's not the greatest at being a cat, but she's very sweet & easy going. I'm sensing a pattern because all of my pets have had very unique qualities that other people witnessed & commented on. As if I needed confirmation that I'm strange & unusual 😂😂

@amezfires9247 i had a sweet Russian Blue, Killmouski, who sucked at being a cat when I stole her from this weird chick I knew in grad school. This woman didn't have a good environment for cats, owning a large and enthusiastic great Dane. So the Mouse finally learned that jumping was possible but she wasn't very good at it at first. Many jumps followed by plops. But she finally mastered jumps and we lived happily ever after!!

I was not a cat person. In fact, bordered on cat-dislike. However, my truck mechanic had all these kittens wandering around one day that had been dumped at his place and one called to me. It was like I was compelled to have her. I scooped her up and said, “Can I take one home?” He said sure and started talking about the names his kids had given them. The cat I was holding was the only one that didn’t run away. Considering both of my border collies chased cats, I knew I needed one that wasn’t a runner. I brought her home and named her Hemingway. They thought she was a boy haha. Hemi is the most incredible being. She has all the fun qualities of a cat but has modeled herself after my dog. She doesn’t wake me up for food, she does funny tricks for treats, she loves to snuggle when we sleep. She definitely shifts energy. My dog is so jealous of attention and she just puts up with his inattentive antics. When he stops spazzing, she walks up and loves on him no matter how annoying he just was or even if he stepped on her etc. She’s truly incredible and an example of unconditional love.

@@WisdomoftheUniverse88 she was so unique, unlike any other I’ve ever had. Her presence alone felt like home. She would wake me up for school everyday at 7:00 am sharp! She was an indoor/ outdoor cat, she would follow me as I played with my friends, walk with me to the grocery store, walk me to the bus stop and once I was on the bus she’d go home. She’d wait for me by the gate when I got home each day. I was 12 at the time and I’d had some major life changes happen, I’ve never felt so alone until I found this cat. She was left to die as a kitten in a shoe box in the woods near our home. She even pottied in the bathtub where I trained her because litter was too expensive and taught her kittens to do the same.
