Every branch of orthodox Hinduism allowed this open inquiry, and allowed debate within various sects. Buddha’s debates with the orthodox Sanātana Brahmins are the best example of this approach. Buddha was every inch a Hindu, but he differed from the orthodox view on the question of existence of the Ātman (loosely translated as the eternal soul). Hindus and the followers of Buddha debated the question for over a millennia till Hinduism won a final victory led by the Ādi Shankar.

@@prashantsingh1280 Moving Gautama Buddha from the 19th century BCE to the sixth century BCE has resulted in a cascading effect that has resulted in the denial of many historical figures their rightful place in history. The most prominent name among these luminaries is Ādi Śankarāchārya, who was one of the greatest intellectuals India has produced. As we know, he was the greatest proponent of the Advaita Vedānta philosophy. According to traditional sources, Ādi Śankarāchārya lived between 509-477 BCE. However, according to modern historians, Ādi Śankarāchārya lived between 788-820 CE. This is based on Ādi Śankarāchārya quoting Buddhist logician Dharmakīrtti verbatim. The real reason the traditional date is not acceptable to modern historians is that Ādi Śankarāchārya could not be the contemporary of Gautama Buddha. If the time of Buddha was several centuries before the currently accepted date, then the objection to the traditional date of Ādi Śankarāchārya can be worked out.

@@dityaharpatipraja4442 Atman Atma, on the other hand, is regarded as the spirit soul of a living entity. We can consider atma as one with Brahman. Although Atma is considered to be part of the same spiritual nature as Brahman, it is an infinitesimal part of it. Moksha is thought to be possible through realizing Atman, or one’s essential self. A person’s atman is perceived as their intrinsic essence, which, as per Hindu beliefs, is separate from their ego. Atma is an aspect of your greater consciousness, like a drop of water and a wide river. Even though that drop of water has the same properties as river water, it cannot be considered the entire river. Similarly, there are numerous and diverse individual atmas. Some schools believe that Atma is eternal, while others believe that Atma eventually merges into the eternal Brahman, losing its individuality.

Modern historians have identified the Hunas to be the tribe of Hephthalites and/or the tribe of Xionites of central Asia close to the western parts of China. According to them, these Hunas crossed Khyber Pass and entered India during the reign of Gupta dynasty. Evidently, historians have concocted that the Hunas belonged to a foreign tribe that invaded India during the time of Gupta dynasty. But there are numerous references of Hunas in Mahabharata and Puranas which unambiguously indicate the existence of Hunas in north-western region of India since Mahabharata era. Hunas and Hārahunas were Indian tribes of North-western region Hunas are mentioned as “Mlechchas” in Mahabharata and Purana. Mahabharata also refers to another tribe named “Hārahuna”. Sabhāparva records that Nakula subdued Hunas, Harahunas, Chinas, Sakas, Ramathas etc. in the west. Hunas and Hārahunas alongwith other western tribes were forced to pay tribute to Yudhishthira when he performed Rajasuya Yajna in Indraprastha. Kalidasa’s Raghuvamsa mentions that King Raghu defeated Hunas who probably reside on the banks of Sindhu river. Historians ridiculously distorted the meaning of “ससन्धुतीर” and concocted that Hunas lived in the valley of Oxus River. Mallinatha, the commentator of Raghuvamsa, clearly identifies the place in the northwestern Kashmir. Mahabharata also indirectly indicates the place of the kingdom of Hunas to be close to Uttara Jyotisha. 4-69 Hunas were dominating in the west during the lifetime of Kalidasa. It is possible that Kalidasa mistakenly speculated them to be Hunas whom King Raghu subdued. In all probability, Hunas were a clan of Kambojas because the Huna King Toramana calls himself “Shahi” in his coins. Kalidasa also indicates Hunas to be a clan of Kambojas. Since Ramayana does mention Hunas or Harahunas, it is possible that these clans of Kambojas evolved in post-Ramayana era. Kalhana’s Rajatarangini and King Mihirakula Kalhana gives the historical account of a Kashmir king Mihirakula. According to Kalhana, Kashmir King Mihirakula subdued many kingdoms of India including Chola, Karnata, Lata and also Simhala. Historians have wrongly identified Kashmir King Mihirakula to be a Huna King of Gupta era. First of all, Kashmir King Mihirakula reigned around 1185-1135 BCE and secondly, he was the son of Vasula of Gonanda III dynasty. Therefore, it is totally absurd to identify Kashmir King Mihirakula to be a Huna King. Moreover, Kalhana never referred to Mihirakula as a Huna king. Huna Invasion during the reign of Gupta dynasty Gupta dynasty reigned around 335-92 BCE. Western Kshatrapas were ruling in Ujjain and Gujarat during the 3rd century BCE. Chandragupta II (278-242 BCE) killed a Saka kshtrapa of Ujjain to free his elder brother Ramagupta around 279 BCE. Chandragupta II was regularly in conflict with Saka kshatrapas and finally drove them away from Ujjain and Gujarat around 246 BCE. Saka Kshatrapas of Ujjain and Hunas of north-western India had good political relations because both tribes originally belonged to north-western India. In all probability, Hunas invaded on Gupta kingdom for the first time during the reign of Kumaragupta (241-199 BCE) with an objective to recover the lost kingdom of Saka kshatrapas but Yuvaraja Skandagupta (199-177 BCE) successfully encountered the Huna invasion and forced them to retreat. The Bhitari inscription eulogizes Skandagupta and records his victory over Hunas. Though Hunas had failed in their military objective but this invasion created a deep animosity between Hunas and Guptas.

Some Upapurāṇas were also compiled after the Mahābhārata era. The Purāṇas available to us, it seems, were finally recompiled and updated around 500-100 BCE. This revived Puranic tradition survived till the Gupta period. Only Bhaviṣyat Purāṇa continued to be periodically updated after the Gupta period. Purāṇas narrate the continuous genealogical and chronological history of ancient India, starting from the Mahābhārata war, and the coronation of King Yudhiṣṭhira, and ending at the Gupta period. Unfortunately, the original Purāṇa Saṁhitās written by Romaharṣaṇa Sūta and his pupils, the earliest versions of Purāṇas, have been lost long ago. In fact, it seems even the Rāmāyaṇa and the Mahābhārata have been recompiled during the Śātavāhana-Gupta period.

Mihirkula was no exception . The behaviour of the Huns against the Roman Empire was no different . Essentially , they lacked the dharmic restraints and respect for dharmic injunctions , which all the major ancient civilizations adhered to . Influence of Ram and Krishna Avatar was everywhere . Even Socrates spoke about the benevolent king , a derivative of Ram Rajya . The huns who attacked elements of Roman Empire repeatedly are very accurately presented in the documentary on Attila The Hun . (There is also a movie on Attila the hun , but documentary is very well made). The huns were never interested in administration , only in loot , rape , plunder , arson , in terrorizing. Extremely good horse riders , speed and surprise was their forte . They were physically were strong and energetic , there was one big handicap , they were loathe to face determined and prepared enemies . Which is what they encountered in India . The Kshatriya dharma , spelt out so explicitly in Bhagwat Gita by the Supreme Lord himself , forbade showing your back to any challenger . These characteristics , built into the Kshatriya DNA over generations and generations of selection , turned the tide rather early against the huns . Since the huns had no respect for dharma , it soon turned into a weeding out process . Today , the huns have Rajput gotras , which shows their is good proportion of Rajput blood in their veins . Some of them escaped into sand dunes of Thar , still show the original pure white complexion light eyes of Hepthalites. A princeling of the last king was smuggled out and nurtured secretly at a place known as Sinsini .

States have always struggled against the nomads. India is unfortunately in a location where it is at the doorstep of the central Asian nomads. The most rough and impressive fighters in human history. In addition, nomads never had any state structures and all people could fight: women, children, men. In states, jobs were separate between farmers, soldiers, bankers, etc... Even though state warriors had better weapons, nomads had nothing to lose and so their large hordes would wait for instability in the states and attack whenever a state showed weakness. That is nomads won. Also Indian warfare was ritualistic and had code of ethics, outsider (mlechas) had no code of ethics to regulate warfare. A good example is Prithviraj Chauhan who saw a retreating Muhhamad of Ghor and thought that he had won the war, since in Indian warfare codes, retreating meant that you had conceded defeat. In reality, Muhhamad was only regrouping for a massive counterattack...

It has to happen organically, like in the case of Mumbai or Chennai. Now if you got a solution, you are most welcome.

Buddhists have their roots in Hinduism. But Dharma isn’t a ism which is monotheistic concept. For us Buddhist Jambhuvipa or Arya bumi is the holy land of India.

In the quest for Parabrahm and Moksha (to enlighten oneself and attain nirvan) our population became highly selfcentred and introverted. I & ME were important then the society and country hence our kings never looked outwards and were always defensive and not offensive. This is the primary reason why very few kings crossed the borders and attacked enemy/foreign land. That's why it's said over religious is harmful.

#AskAbhijit Is it possible for the dark energy to run out eventually? And if it was to happen the universe should start contracting but where would the energy go afterall our universe is a closed system, i mean by that is the energy which was used in expanding in the universe must go somewhere if the universe starts contracting because of law of conservation of energy, would it create dark energy again and thus create a physical equilibrium and maintain the size of universe for indefinite time.

No 9th avatar is controversial. ......In Jagannath temple lord Jagannath is 9tv avatra, in some south temple mohini was 9th avatar and but for budha there is a different budha whoes father mother and birth place are different from goutam budha as 9th avatar.
