In regard to the FST being in the engine bay, that's a good thing. From tank to FST is all low pressure fuel, and the only high-pressure fuel lines are in the engine bay. If there's a fuel leak from a damaged line or fitting, it's a bit safer. When are you going to upgrade the BMW diff to a MK3 Supra Diff. Reasonably easy, way stronger stub axles, and the Supra LSD is much better than the BMW one.

mac berry Yes I understand that part but this is not an ordinary E36 plus taking the car to Japan is the expensive part. Soo basically that’s the reason I don’t understand why he bought a 1JZ built E36 instead of something else in Japan.

Chelsea, I'm a fan of old 36's and 46's too and knew you as a men under title "don't overbuild you car + run 1 milion lap on 1 set of tire", then I hear 'we will be making around 500 at wheels with gtx35' - I thought: damn, something is going wrong here :D I would sell it, set here a g25 and make 400, which will be ideal for beater car, especially for Ebisu. Fortunately at the end all is cleared ;) Will you share with us some videos from testing it? Overall I'm really proud, that finally some european winterbeater will be beaten at Ebisu! :D E36 for the first time in her life will be exotic :D

m5x or s5x engines can hold decent power with simple additives such as a head studs, upgraded head gasket, and possibly a head spacer to change compression. Generally, 400-500 with just those basic mentions can be "easily" achievable and reliable as long as the engine is healthy. Another thing to mention about m5x or s5x engines that a lot of people complain about is oil leaks. Those can be fixed by ensuring basic maintenance such as oil filter housing gasket, valve cover gasket, ccv/proper catch can setup for turbo application, and just general maintenance that should be completed no matter if the car is NA or boosted. If you just want to boost an unopened m5x or s5x engine, you can make around 300+ whp or more as long as you have a good tuner. Lastly, get a good tune! you'll have to ditch the MAF for a PMAS or something similar to achieve good numbers, but without a good tune, going boosted is pointless... ms42/3 (bmw e46 ecu) has been seeing a lot of development within the last couple years and can be tuned by a lot of knowledgeable tuners. In my opinion, swapping these engines is kinda pointless, unless you're upgrading ie from an m52tu25 to an m52tub28 etc etc. Hope this helps and if you want anymore information, I'd recommend joining forums and also joining common facebook groups such as Boosted BMWs, Boosted E46 World, etc

Why no Bov better boost response.?? But if so cant that be bad for turbo
@TheKingduffy1384 жыл бұрын
Most turbine housings today can take the off throttle surge which is the result of not having a BOV so he'll be fine. Also you get a nicer sound when you come off the throttle like *SUTUTU* :D
@eric92494 жыл бұрын
I don't drift (want to learn) but if I had to guess; when you're drifting you're constantly modulating the throttle, all that boost you built - if you keep more of it in the pipes rather than dumping it to atmosphere = better throttle response? I would think compressor surge would damage the turbo in the long term though???
